    New Zealanders also call it a windscreen. Metal biscuit (cookie) tins that you get given at Christmas end up with sewing kits in them or old letters or other random stuff to keep clean. Occasionally home baking ends up in it. 99% certain the kangaroo 🦘 is balancing on its tail, they do it so they can kick you.

    A few things to note, Ryan:
    1. The thing that McDonald's sued over is the name of the burger - "Big Jack" which obviously sounds just like "Big Mac".
    2. Costco isn't really a competitor to Woolies/Coles. I'm a Woolies shopper (occasional Coles when something's on sale) and 95% of what I buy there is either unavailable at Costco or simply unavailable in a size that doesn't require a forklift to move. (note: I do buy TP, paper towel and fuel there - the $70 annual fee is worth it for the fuel alone since I live 5 minutes away)
    3. The "Member Prices" at Woolies don't require a paid membership like Costco. It's FREE. And before someone complains that the personal data you give when you sign up will be sold to scammers who will steal all you money - you could sign up with fake info (except your phone number, that has to be real).
    4. BUPA: It's pronounced "boo-pa".
    5. The average length of a bulla shark is 7-8 feet, whereas the average length of a saltwater crocodile is around 17 feet. So yeah, the shark ain't gonna mess with old salty.

    • @mehere8038
      @mehere8038 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      more relevent on costco is the number of stores compared to colesworth. VERY few people live within 5 minutes of a costco! It would cost me WAY more in fuel than I could possibly save if I was to buy fuel from them, given the travel distance to get there

    • @bencodykirk
      @bencodykirk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mehere8038 Very true. I see people turn up to Costco with a trailer or in their campervan for their 6 monthly visit sometimes. OR at least filling up the back of their SUV with stuff. And then there's me who wil go in for one item 😂

    • @mehere8038
      @mehere8038 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bencodykirk I've never been to costco, but I can imagine :) I used to have a "campbells cash & carry" near me & managed to get a membership card for it, via a volunteer organisation I was involved in (they required being a business to get a card & be able to shop there) & it was similar to what you describe, although I tended to be the one with only a handful of items :) They only sold in bulk though, so not really "1 item" per say, but I would get just 1 or 2 of the 1kg bags of allens frogs & snakes alive, they were $5 a bag! Sold at colesworth for about $2-3 for a regular sized pack at that period in time, so pretty impressive saving, just hard to resist the temptation to eat far to many when buying in such big bags lol. They changed policy to require buying a box of 5x1kg bags at one stage too, which was even worse. Definately worth the savings if buying sensibly & with self control though :)

    In Australia, the correct term is windscreen. Just checked with my family's Director of Purchasing (i.e. my wife): you don't have to pay to be a Woolworths or Coles member. If you get a free rewards card (loyalty card), you are a member. Saltie = saltwater crocodile. Crossing = river crossing/ford. Kununurra is a town in NE WA, just west of the NT border.

    Where I live we get the occasional koala in the trees along the driveway as well as in the trees up the back. You can hear the males grunting similar to a pig to know that koalas are around. As for that Skippy (roo) video , that's the view you normally see of them hopping in front of your car but that roo might've been a pissed off male. As for the bikkie tins, after the bikkies are gone, they are used as storage...mainly sewing stuff!

    Salty equals Croc.
    Male saltwater crocodiles have been recorded at lengths of 23 feet (7 m) and weights of 2,205 pounds (1,000 kg). Females are much smaller, growing to be about 10 feet (3 m) long and weighing 330 pounds (150 kg).

    Coles and Woolworths are everywhere but here in Perth there’s only one Costco, that I’m aware of, and it’s so far away it would take all day to get the shopping, not to mention how much it would cost in petrol - gas (Perth is a massively spread out city).
    When I was a kid, there was a song about an pommy (English person) asking if there were sharks where he wanted to swim. The answer: “No, the crocodiles cleared them out.”

      Why Italian. 🤔Guarantee every Aussie mother and Grandma used those tins for sewing stuff. I have three old tins in my cupboard right now with various sewing stuff, thread, needles, buttons, zips etc. I also have a 1930s Black Singer 99K hand crank sewing machine. Yes, I'm very "old school"🙂

    Costco only started here a few years ago; they aren't everywhere yet, and mainly do bulk goods from what little I know about them. Woolworths (Woolies), Coles and now increasingly I.G.A. and Aldi, are almost everywhere.

    Woolies membership is free, if you have the original orange card you're a member and it comes off your total while shopping, just scan the card. The baby kangaroos in their pouches are the ones rescued from their dead mothers. They arent out of the pouch and off milk until at least 6months of age. Who looks after them are Wildlife Carers/ volunteers. Costco is crap over here. Definitely not worth the hype. We like variety that's why we shop at Coles and Woolies, no-one else has such variety if each product. Aldi has bare minimum and not even half the product selection the 2 have, IGA is quite expensive but closer to the 2 in range.

    The "sewing kits" was referring to when the tins of biscuits were empty, as many people use those tins to store their sewing kits- needles and threads. We would all take our sewing to school in a biscuit tin when I was young. I don't even know if they still have sewing as a subject at school. There are only a few Costcos and they are near major cities. They aren't really worth it unless you need to purchase in bulk. The kangaroo was sitting on its tail. That's why it appeared to be floating in the air. Its feet were off the ground and its weight was on its tail. Guzman Y (pronounced "ee") Gomez is a Mexican food place and that was supposed to be a taco. A "salty" is a saltwater crocodile. They are the most aggressive crocs on the planet.

    Costco over here in Australia personally just isn't that good, it's always so crowded and busy and you can only get things in bulk, where as Woolworths and Coles you can just walk in and get a bottle of milk and be done and we also get discounts if you sign up and use your rewards, Woolworths also does Rewards in store as well as at certain petrol (gas) stations where we gets anywhere from 1c to $1 off your petrol per litre (gallon)
    Also:
    Windscreen (windsheild)
    Hood (front of car)
    Bonnet (back of car)
    And the routines d cookie containers were always used as a sewing kit when growing up, not sure why but it just always was full of sewing stuff, it was a bit rude when we went to open the container to have a cookie and only saw sewing stuff in it hahaha

    Windscreen here.
