      @Fonske 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to evict nymphaea from my community tank. This plant needs to be watched closely because when it's happy, its leaves grow big and cover the entire water surface very quickly. Other plants get no light at all. Then each leaf starts to form a baby lily and die off, polluting the water. I transplanted the whole thing into my goldfish tank (no fertilizer) and it seems a better match there.

      @mattkinsella9856 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      In general USA wants the cheapest guppies. Those don't come from China, they come from Sri Lanka. The profits made by the importers is what gets us small fish comparatively.

    • @wyzemann
      @wyzemann 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aquarium Co-Op Thanks. I’m definitely not one of those cheap fish keepers. I’d prefer more robust and thicker livebearers (like Greg Sage’s)Too bad for quality before quantity consumers like me☹️. Anyway, there’s always the inter webs.

    • @mattkinsella9856
      @mattkinsella9856 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AquariumCoop I think it's a shame (and bad business) that so many LFS don't support local breeders. They all want to buy 100 fish for $25 and don't care about the quality or how long they will live. Perhaps educating the consumers (and potential consumers) on buying quality fish and being prepared to pay for them is the way to go. People need to be aware that it's far better for everyone to pay $30 for great quality guppies and appreciate them rather than buying sick, cheap, badly bred guppies for a buck or 2 each. Same goes for any fish tbh. I read an article not long ago that fish are too cheap and the pros of raising quality along with prices across the board.

    I've been cycling my tank I have live plants in a 30 gallon tank I put a handful of fish food for ammonia and I've been dosing seachem stability for bacteria. I tested the ammonia levels today and they came out zero and the nitrite levels came out zero but the nitrate levels came out to over 180 rpm. When I first but I'm the food my ammonia was at 8 ppm and this sounds all perfect to me but my concern is that it has only been two weeks. Most people say this takes a month howd I achieve this in two weeks. Is my tank ready?

      Jack You I feel the same way. I love Coreys store and the high moral ground of only selling products he enjoys.
      But this, this is absolutely disgusting. This isn’t amazing or beautiful.
      The fish are overstocked. Reality is, we don’t actually KNOW how long those fish will be there until someone comes around to purchase one.
      Not only that BUT a lot of people who buy fish don’t always know how to properly care for one. So the owner of this horrendous company is basically implementing that these living conditions are ok.

    People who have followed Cory for a long time should know that he doesn't approve of everything at these markets. He's filming it and giving us simple commentary for more of a tour. Do you think if he went into rants at the market they would want him filming? Or do you even know the amount of time it would take to address everything?

    Corey, I watch your videos thru PS3 and don't have the benefit of being able to read the info that comes with the video. Would you guys consider doing a Google World zoom into the location at which you are visiting?

    • @AquariumCoop

      Can you explain some more for me, like you don't get to see the title of the video?

    • @chlbtn
      @chlbtn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AquariumCoop When you watch TH-cam on a "SmartTV" or through PS3, all you get is a thumbnail and a portion of a title. You do not get any text under the video as you do with the computer or even the Smartphone (which requires slight navigation to get to). Corey's travel videos generally don't have a location title embedded in the actual video. For example this one has no info in the actual video other than someone mentioning that they were in Shanghai. I travel to these areas so it would would be fun to see the exact location. What better way to do this than to use the Google Earth Zoom feature.

    Hey Cory,
    That plant that you liked was just a water lily. You can cut water Lilly leaves free and
    Float them. They will often sprout new plants. I doubt they will bloom without their roots in the soil though.
    Cheers,
    Chris
