    Almost no filtration at all in the majority of these tanks.
    I can only imagine the impact long term, especially given the number of fish involved.
    I appreciate Randy's comment at the end, "we gotta get them some coop sponges."

    • @chelsmeister
      @chelsmeister ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Looks like their fish are doing fine -- those neons are some of the healthiest I've ever seen, and huge quantities at that! Maybe there's something to learn about keeping your tanks "dirty" water -- there's a whole bacterial biofilm colony likely coating all the surfaces in each tank, which seems to be doing the job just fine.

    • @dennisaskeland7603
      @dennisaskeland7603 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the fish will be fine. they probably eat a diet of 80% antibiotics

    • @sheppyoutside5836
      @sheppyoutside5836 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      everything looks healthy, its probably river water full of tannins, they may be doing continuous water changes via natural river etc, how many fish in nature live in crystal clear water? water clarity doesn't equal quality or cleanliness

    • @espeterson522
      @espeterson522 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The water change equipment was all dry, and it's super humid there. So they definitely aren't doing a flow through system.

    They probably don't use filtration because it's easier to change the water every few days... or those were the tanks that were used for showing to buyers, ie temporary storage. They seem to prefer to keep them in cheaper, non-glass containers.

    Looking at the eggs on the wall above your snail, I'd say it's Pomacea Canaliculata. It was introduced to Asia from South America and is considered an invasive pest because it will eat rice seedlings. In Thailand it's called cherry snail because of the eggs and it's quite a meaty snail so eaten quite widely, especially in the north-east.

    anyone know if the coop dual air pump get louder if you only use one of the outputs? I don't always need 2 air out puts.

    • @espeterson522
      @espeterson522 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any dual outlet pump will be louder with only one outlet in use. Having airline hooked up to the outlet acts like a muffler.

    • @nirvanaquatics
      @nirvanaquatics ปีที่แล้ว

      The dual outlet air pump is designed to power 2 air stones/sponge filters. Using only one outlet will reduce the functionality and make the pump louder. We would recommend choosing the single outlet air pump if you only plan to use one outlet.

  • @jlew5545
    @jlew5545 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Loved watching this video....and without looking beforehand....I immediately sensed that the comment section would reveal a tale of two aquarists "distinct way of thinking". I'm a pretty messy fish tank guy.......not unlike these Chinese fish farmers. I'm not a big fan of constant water changes, constant substrate vacuuming, water parameter testing, or algae scraping. Other folks prefer to fuss a bit more in their fish hobby or projects. My current 55 gallon is home ONLY to the entire lot of Betta Splendens that resulted from an unplanned random egg nest guarded by a 3 dollar Petco blue male from eggs he fertilized that were produced by a 3 dollar Petco red female. Months and months later....there are now 78 adult fish from that single bubble nest in this hornwort addled 55 gallon tank. There is NO FIGHTING....and the tank is a wonderful mess. The fish at that farm in China seemed and appeared healthy...and messiness was in abundance...lol. I must say this though. If that big a$$ spider so much as dared try to lurk in or around my tank, after my initial revulsion reaction...it would be immediately extricated and either moved to the woods outside my property...OR dealt with accordingly depending on how it "behaved". Big spiders "at face level" that can "jump"...and that one most assuredly was capable of doing just that ...well it's in their best long term interest to keep ALL 8 legs on the glass until my dip net swoops in. Again great video Randy. More messy fish place videos please....
