Your interpretation and confusion about the ending ! 😭😂 .. RJ felt that he had started to become aarohi’s weakness!.. n that he was coming in the way of her happiness, normal life n success.. He felt he can’t be cured now, but he didn’t want her to suffer with him any further.., he knew he was incorrigible.. Hence he took that step… for her!.. That’s what the movie was, she was willing to sacrifice her everything for him, inorder to get him back on track & he sacrificed his life for her…. ❤️🩹
No guys he is not singing .. Arjit Singh is the playback singer here. Also actually the female lead can sing .. She has some of her own songs. But she is also not singing here in this movie.. Although both of them.have certain knowledge about singing thus they can lip sync so well
I think what happened was he thought he had become an addiction for her like she was willing to even accept his addiction to alcohol and follow it and he knew that he couldn't get rid of his addiction so he got rid of her addiction Kind of IDK I maybe way off but I interpreted it that way or tried to make it make sense this way

You try, months in rehab, trying to quit, but as soon as something negative happens to you, you run back to alchohol coz that's all you know. We dont feel that way coz we all don't necessarily suffer through that, but I have known people in my life who have been this path. Lost a cousin in his late 30s, who had made up his mind that he will just keep drinking until one day he dies, and he had like 10-20 relapses. And once you convince yourself that there's no way I am going to able to comeback, all Rahul the character from the movie thought was right was to end his life so that he stops dragging her into his shithole. Cowardly? Yes. Smart? No. But in his mental state that's what he thought. That sacrificing his own life, so that she could be free again and become what she was capable of.
I don't think it's cowardly. It was a very tough decision for him. If he was alone, he could take risks and try stuff to overcome his addiction even if he relapsed but he saw that even in the few times that he already relapsed, his lover went through a LOT of pain and when you truly love someone, that's really not something you can bear. It's also making things so much harder for her but she wouldn't leave him either...I know how desperate and awful and disgusting and guilty you feel when you seem to cause nothing but trouble for the people around you...I've personally gone through that and I've wanted to die so badly. I don't care if you're speaking from your experience with your cousin but that decision to take his life was a very tough decision...
@@lichtm2053 my cousin did not kill himself, we just found him dead in his bed. His drug abuse and alchohol overdose probably made his body/heart give up. He was under 40. He always used to say that this is what is life is gonna be until he is dead. Alchohol and drug abuse, if he wasn't in rehab.

Otherwise he couldve went to mountains. Drank local cheap alcohol for few years somehow finds hope with the time and struggles of that life. Then one day she came to that place they meet and happy ending.

I don't think you guys have watched "A Star is Born " 1976. It's the exact same movie. Bradley Cooper's "A Star is Born" released in 2018, is also an adaptation of the same. Bradley Cooper's version is very similar to Aashiqui 2, which was release in 2012. Both Aashiqui 2 and A Star is Born 2018 became popular especially because of its' music. The later won several awards including Academy Awards for the music.

I think it was too much for him to be confronted every day with her successful singing career after his career had flopped. She should have ended her singing career and she should have chosen his peace and they should have left for another country where nobody recognizes them. All the blame lies on him but although she supported him, she destroyed him too.
