    I share the name Peter Ward to anyone who mentions the words rising damp or damp proofing. Thank you for reinforcing that for me.

    I've just seen a building that has been "treated" for rising damp. The air bricks are blocked up and there are no vents through newly applied external render. Nevertheless before addressing either of these issues the damp company went straight to its stock in trade - drilling their stupid holes and defacing a beautiful Victorian building. 6 months on and the walls are still dripping wet, covered in mould and the paint, turning to powder, is dropping off the walls...

      You are right. All these dampness related actions influence each other, they cannot be regarded or done in isolation. The problem of dampness and its potential remedies must be viewed holistically as often one action influences positively or negatively other factors.

      They are a con , i went to look at a property the other day, no ventilation, cement render , etc , the client had a survey report from the damp guys that said the typical thing of tanking the property and injecting holes 12,000 they charged when all it took was a cheap French drain, 3 air bricks and render removal and repoint to a 3 metre section of brickwork on the bay window for 2,500-3,000 all in
      They are a absolute con and fraud and discrace to the building industry

    If Ward is publishing malicious and defamatory information about you, your company and the products you sell then the answer is surely to take him to court. As you aren't doing that I can only guess he's pretty near right about the way elements of the damp industry behave.

      Why would you bother taking up valuable head space and time taking someone like Ward to Court, even if he is damaging you business? You are better off exposing him in other ways, such as this TH-cam video.

      Ward is an idiot. Rising damp exists and is generally accepted scientifically.

    I liked the way you included historical and literary perspectives with your references to Galileo and Don Quixote, however after watching your 29 minute production methinks he doth protest too much.

    A dry cellar has been treated to be dry as the very nature of a cellar means they will be cold and damp as the bricks reach a natural balance with the soil around them, hence why public houses have cellars where they keep Beer as it is a stable temperature due to the damp

    • @coreconservation
      @coreconservation  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A cellar is cold because of the evaporating moisture. Evaporation draws away heat from any surface cooling it down.

    Doesn't it rain in venice?

    • @coreconservation
      @coreconservation  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it does, like everywhere else. It also floods several times a year. And there are a slot of salts due to the presence of sea water. What was your point?

    I have to say that Peter ward is very good at his diagnosis and chemicals should an absolute last resort.

    • @coreconservation

      I agree with the second part, you are absolutely right. Re the first part, yes he is good at many things but misses the mark in other areas. If someone negates the existence of rising damp, a natural phenomenon, is obviously missing important diagnosis points. There is an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence about rising damp, some bits of data being shown here: www.coreconservation.co.uk/rising-damp-historical-context/

    There are hundreds (thousands?) of house in Adelaide, Australia, north of the River Torrens that have rising damp. The ground there is salty and, despite the dry environment, moisture rises through the stonework and destroys it from the inside. Rising damp is real, though it's a lot rarer than the conventional, mainstream industry would have folk believe and their solutions are still not the answer for any old house. Let's allow space to discuss rising damp: how to properly identify it; how to assess its impact; and how to minimise it if necessary. That way, we can take the advantage away from those vendors who use it simply to sell pointless, damaging solutions. Core Conservation, clearly, should be allowed to be leaders in that discussion.

  • @windsorblade76

    Most of the time its a wrong diagnosis for the cause of the damp.

    • @coreconservation
      @coreconservation  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would probably say there are main reasons why dampness problems are not sorted: 1. Incorrect diagnosis; 2. Incorrect solution (even if the initial diagnosis was correct).

    Thank you for taking the time to expose Ward's narcissistic rages. Ward gets away with these things because he believes and defends his own lies. Remember it is not just about money for Ward, it is more about seeking attention to bolster his ego. Check out the main traits on narcissistic personality disorders and it most definitely applies to Peter Ward. If you follow or support him you are being manipulated to satisfy his ego.

    Came across your video while doing research on rising damp...What a well-presented research. Well done Sir and thank you for sharing. I always wondered why this fella Peter was so keen on trashing other companies...his motive is clear of course.

      Science my friend, is something that must elude you. Not surprising since the level of education and understanding of science is extremely poor and I should know!

      Thank you for this expose. Very helpful. I will be contacting your office to arrange a free survey and obtain your help with my property. £1,000 for a Survey is far too expensive.
