I can think of one reason for making small bags, maybe they want to encourage people to provide their small pets with multiple textures? I know I always recommend people give their hamsters and mice lots of different textures to explore like moss, coco soil, hay, hemp, aspen and paper.
I bought 3 different bags and I use them in different areas! I also mixed all four together and put it in a glass jar for my new ham to dig in, along with some leaf litter. He seems to really enjoy digging in it. :) It also just looks nice when you have a more natural themed enclosure.
That’s exactly correct they want u to mix and match them in different sections of the cage but even if u do that with a large enclosure each bag will only last one setup if u use them all
Petsmart should really start selling niteangel products. It’d made it soooo much easier to access for people like me who live very close to pet stores. Also love the video Munchie!

i'm so glad that niteangel now exists and are actually responsive and ethical! and while i understand that all their products are of high quality, i do wish they would be more affordable.
Unfortunately, it will be a long time before high quality, ethical pet supply brands will be totally affordable 🥲 Which is totally sad considering cheap pet supply items are still the standard amongst those who aren't educated :(
Niteangel’s products are actually super CHEAP on taobao which is kinda like the Chinese version of Amazon. On their official store on Taobao, the Large size bigger world enclosure is only 479rmb which is about 74 usd. (The enclosure is extremely heavy so even though the us Amazon sells for $225 I guess it’s worth it(? But also these niteangel beddings do come in 11L and 40L and they’re all extremely affordable comparing to the price in the states… (just checked Taobao and 5L is only about 2.59dollars while the 40L box costs only 4.32dollars ..I guess that’s why I see hamsters owners in China using boxes and boxes of niteangel beddings ;( lucky them!! I wish there’s a way for niteangels products to be more accessible here 🥲

I spent $100 including shipping for a sandbath, platforms, one of the glass dishes, some ladders, bendy bridges. All of that alone would've cost double with Amazon plus giving money to Bezos to zoom around in low orbit in a suspiciously-shaped rocket instead of paying his employees. The link to their shop is niteangel.tmall.com What I do is find links to the items I want, save them in a text file, pop them into the shopping service and order. :) Shipping will take longer, that's the main downside.

Basically, you order the items, pay for them (use a yuan to dollar or whatever your currency is to see the actual cost). Then they order it. It’s shipped to the shipping services warehouse. They take pics of the items to verify. Then you confirm. They’ll give you shipping items based on the entire weight of the package. You pay again for shipping. You get the tracking number and wait for it to arrive. I go with the cheapest shipping and the wait was like a month last time but there was still mail hold up with the pandemic. It helps to use browser translation add-ons as well as a picture translation tool like Yandex. I’ve been buying stuff from taobao for eons and it saves a lot of money. Most stuff on Amazon, Ali express and wish are just people buying things from taobao and upselling them. Though for legit small companies to use Amazon as a storefront it can get pricey, so that’s why Niteangel only has a limited stock on Amazon.
I agree with the small bags...I have 2 hamsters 1 robovorksi and 1 Syrian, I go through bedding fast between the 2 cages. I definitely would like to get night angel bedding but with how small the bag is it would be gone so fast, i do tend to get 10-14L bags but 5L would be gone so fast, if they made bigger bags I would definitely consider buying. I'm sure other small animal owners with multiple hamsters/gerbils/mice would agree

One thing I think that would be useful with purchasing such a small bag is using the standard paper bedding and layering some of these in between which is what I do! To create stability for burrows .
I converted my Kaytee cage into a wheatgrass playground for my mice. It's decent for growing wheatgrass since it allows airflow and keeps my mice in for a few minutes. I would like more bedding options. I have aspen mainly with paper, hay, and coco fiber for a soil box.
I just started using the Niteangel Aspen & Timothy. Even though I could mix it myself, I thought the Niteangel was so soft. I actually use it on top of my other store bought Aspen to make it last longer😊
My past hamster used to pouch his nesting material it was shredded paper and toilet tissue that’s ripped up. He would make the hay into his nest. I always had loads of hay due to owning rabbits. And all past hamsters have never had an issue with Timothy hay x
I just got the aspen and beech chips and I love it it’s beautiful, it’s a different texture for my robo and it’s soft and smells good. I wouldn’t use it as a main bedding but as a accent bedding it’s great!
I love niteangel so much! I recently bought the coco peat, moss, desert sand, and the aspen + beech wood and they are great- no issues with them at all! The small package thing isn’t really an issue to me because I dedicated small areas to the different substrates but I see what you mean, it can get pricy. You definitely get what you pay for though, and you’re supporting an awesome business!
For buying in bulk, I would recommend Small Pet Select, esp if you wanna stay away from Kaytee. I buy SPS orchard grass hay for my Guinea pigs & unbleached white paper bedding for my hamsters. I can’t use Timothy hay bc I’m highly allergic.
My Syrian ham pouches nesting material sometimes. It's toilet paper that he shredded and wanted to bring back to his nest. I don't give him any other nesting material unless you count hay and herbs, but he eats herbs and burrows with hay. I use orchard grass hay as layers between paper bedding (clean and cozy, and all living things, carefresh is pretty but it has like no burrowing potential) to mix in. My ham nibbles on it sometimes, but it's more so as enrichment to help keep his burrows stable as he loves burrowing. It's Oxbow's, and it's soft. Coconut eco earth things are great for dig boxes, but as a rescue I'm not sure if you could spare the money and space for dig boxes.

I am interested in the Aspen in the Niteangel natural bedding since I current use the snake Aspen from the reptile section. I prefer the smaller Aspen shavings since it is softer than the chunks.
My boy pouches his bedding but I swear he just puts everything in his mouth. I know for sure because one time I was holding onto him and there were too many people in the room and he empty his pouch in my hand and there were big lumps of bedding.
Angel is a great company that they got to improve on their bedding and nesting material you got me to do your bags and down with scented bedding and they should take down the scented bedding off the shelf

I know this is an older video so I'm hoping you see my question. I recently adopted a Syrian and he's allergic to paper bedding. The pet store had him in the back because of his allergy on just paper towel (not shredded...just layered on the bottom :( ) I decided to try him with Aspen because he deserves to be able to burrow. He's doing great with it and has no reaction, but I would like to give him something squishier to burrow in as well. Any suggestions?
Have you tried hemp bedding yet? Would recommend and mixing a bit of hay into the aspen to hold structure. It's weird to know a hamster has a paper bedding allergy, I haven't seen it unless someone misdiagnosed him. I don't trust the knowledge of petstores since many companies like petco/petsmart have been known to self diagnosis, I should know I worked at one & fighting for animals was absolutely redic. Unless seen by a vet, I'd say allergies can be due to unclean conditions or infestations like with mites/fleas.

I bought a 113L of Small Pet Select aspen bedding on Amazon for $27.99. That's twice the size of the bag Munchie is showing here, just to give you an idea.
Um, how many of them bags would I have to buy for a cage that’s about 1000 sq inches? If they’re not $3 a bag I couldn’t afford it. I spend about $30 monthly just for Aspen_Clean&Cozy_ and orchard hay for stabilizing tunnels. A small bag like that is what someone with a crittertrail would use… 🤨
Does anyone else has 26,4 gallons / 100 l bedding bags in their pet stores like I have? Sadly it's only hemp bedding, but it's something. I do wish for bigger paper and birch bedding bags, though. My pet shop here launched their own bedding in like the same small size and put a juicy prizetag on it...grah I see myself not knitting while I age, but ripping appart toilet paper, because it's cheeper in the end.
Niteangle never has anything for sale anymore!! I really want one of their large terrariums in mint green for my Chinese Hamster. But they have not had any for sale for a long time!! Not to mention most of their other items are always sold out. Sigh..... whish they were not always sold out.

It's sad that 12.99 for 5L is cheap for my country 😭 the biggest I can find is 1 L for paper bedding :S but there are some bigger ones for dangerous wood bedding.
Kaytee sucks- lol, the only thing i like about them if the kaytee clean and cozy bedding 😄 EDIT: i use a little bit of orchard grass hay to stabilize my hamsters burrows (i have guinea pigs so i always have a ton) sometimes i can catch her taking it to her burrow!

I have also heard that aspen has the best ammonia control. I like to put more of it in the areas my hamster uses the bathroom frequently.

@@catherinerogers8558 it's actually separate even though China will try to take over all of Asia, if allowed. They have their own currency and system of government, that China is slowly trying to destroy.
I bet those poor SOBs in Hong Kong wish they were still under the rule of Great Britain... They are over there waving American flags, not China's. As many of the ones that had duel citizenship fled the country as they could before the takeover.
