When the party Is over Is a difficult song to sing. Actually most of her songs. Cause you gotta be extremely gentle with your voice and how to control the air. It's not as easy as it seems
@Sarah Daniels lol, I love Billie's music. I can only sing a few of her songs. I really can't sing that well but I can totally nail Lisa Marie Presley most times.
I have a four octave range and never sing her songs because she’s SO quiet in her falsetto. That is hard to do. I belt my high notes, which is what most artists do, they give people that “oh wow” reaction but it’s not all that hard in actuality. Staying soft and still hitting those notes takes HELLA breath support and vocal control. So what she does is definitely not common.
It's actually not so healthy to sing in such an airy (whisper-like) falsetto for extended periods of time. Technique-wise, you're probably utilizing better/healthier technique...
Thank you! I see so many comments in her videos criticizing her singing abilities and claiming it is easy to sing how she does, when in fact, staying in pitch is super hard with her technique. We are just too used of great singets mostly showing their "grand" belted vocals
She stated once that bad guy is basically about thinking you're the shit when you're really not. She also mentioned that people who claim they're 'bad' or amazing, really aren't, because the 'bad' people don't feel the need to boast about it. So the song can be interpreted in the sense of someone who's claiming they're bad and could do so many things when in reality they're not as cool as they declare.
Yeah its like shes saying, you think ur bad? What cause u do that? Ha! Pssh boy I'll let u think so like im undercover but you'll end up as my chew toy that gets tossed aside! Lol What ur saying reminds me of a quote i can't remember word from word from where and exactly the ling but basically its, If you were the Alpha(or boss, leader, top dog etc) you wouldn't have to say so. Which sorry for my fuzzy memory but i think if badass cause always from books to shows, movies they're like and this is X the leader or boss whatever or and im that. And its like yeah if you are the boss, at the top, to not be fucked with.... you dont, or shouldn't have to tell other like yeah im the badass boss so yeah you dont wanna mess with me cause im the leader of this group, gang whatever. Again sorry a line i read in a book or heard long ago from show or movie but u get the point. Though sometimes there are some people that sneak up on you and more tough, crazy or badass then u thought. Like they say, Its always the quiet ones... maybe a breaking point or the "put together" person letting themselves out unrestricted. So yeah just be respectful of others but not a kiss ass. She said herself that it's not about being sexualized, it's about people fat/skinny shaming or commenting about her body in general. She has never ever said anything about being sexualized.
With respect to your octave comment. Keep in mind that there is a MASSIVE difference between having a 4 octave vocal range and singing one song that requires you to sing in ALL four octaves at some point. Billie recently was on James COrden's show when Alicia Keys was hosting and they played a video of her at age 12 singing Alicia Keys' Fallin at a talent show. Which lets us know that she can CLEARLY belt and do vocal acrobatics. The type of personal songs that they are currently writing don't call for belting or vocal acrobatics.
Billie said "Bad Guy" was more about making fun of guys who think they are "criminal", or gangsta. She said if they are going to act like they are bad ass, then she is going to be a bad guy too (satire. she isn't serious at all).
“Call me friend but keep me closer” I’ve never noticed that line. That’s one of the most destructive things you can do to someone. In her song “wish you were gay” Billie actually sings louder and belts a bit, especially in the live versions. (It’s about how a guy she liked wasn’t interested in her and she wanted to know why, wishing he was gay, just so she’d have a valid reason and answer to why). I recommend reacting to it

The number of octaves she can sing is 5. It's not that she has to have the ability to sing 2 octaves. It's that she has to fluctuate between the two octaves the entire song. That's extremely difficult and this was early am when she was sick after a show the night before. Listen to that studio set. 🖤 My daughter and sons love her and got me into her hard. I love to do choreos to her music. "All the good girls go to hell" and "You should see me in a crown". 😉

From my silicone valley childhood, and teen years in Memphis, I think “guys” is California for “y’all”. I sort of use them interchangeably. And “bad guy” can be interpreted as “bad actor.” It’s usage is pretty genderless. I believe “Bad Guy” is meant to make us uncomfortable, in the same way that listening to a braggart makes us uncomfortable. It’s just sort of cringe-y.
Ok maybe I can explain this lol she sings with her chest voice, but it’s as if she’s singing in falsetto or head voice, very light & airy. Hard to do, you have to push a ton of air through the vocal chords and it’s part anatomy part gift. Normally in chest voice your vocal chords are thick, falsetto they are thinnest. It almost sounds as if she can control that with air, and can thin them even in her chest voice. Or she just has incredible air control, either way that’s my best description of her voice. Maybe it helps maybe not. We have so many amazing big voices in popular music, Billie is equally talented for what she can do so I like seeing woman like her get the spotlight.
Billie likes scary/ horror movies & she translates that through her music. When you were commenting on the sound of Bad Guy, I think that is the inspiration she is drawing from.😈👌💕

Her songs are so hard to sing well, they are within my range but the technique she uses is VERY hard to casually pull off
Bad Girl would imply she is naughty...Bad Guy implies she's a villain.
So crazy about you guys! Watching you guys makes me so feel so happy! :)
Dude: I don't like this song
Dude: bopping to said song he doesn't like
Lol
Guess he was trying hard to like it maybe?
He said he doesnt like how it makes him feel therefore he doesnt like it and it's not his favourite but said he likes the beat and its catchy. I'm guessing its cuz he doesnt know the lyrics are satire
Def more Billie!!!! Please and thank y'all
OMG OMG I have never heard her like this! I am blown away
Love her singing, she's real!
Hey Guys , You both look great , but Chris you look rocken love the hair!!!!!!
I agree, totally looks good with new hair arrangement!
The music in bad guy was recorded from a crosswalk in Australia. Finneas said that during an interview on Jimmy Fallon. It's pretty cool!
“Hejdjfkdkemkfkfkd.....”
“Yeah you’re not alone”
😂
Shhe say: " Im a bag guy, she's not say "im a bad girl"
The number of octaves she can sing is 5. It's not that she has to have the ability to sing 2 octaves. It's that she has to fluctuate between the two octaves the entire song. That's extremely difficult and this was early am when she was sick after a show the night before. Listen to that studio set. 🖤
My daughter and sons love her and got me into her hard. I love to do choreos to her music. "All the good girls go to hell" and "You should see me in a crown". 😉
Just had this come up on my feed. Love you both and just subscribed ❤️
When they said that she had a soft voice. In my head I said wait till you hear bad guy my dudes
Still a soft & quiet voice.
She actually has some really nice upbeat songs like Copycat, my boy, bellyache, ect
I wouldn't mind being in a manwich with these two guys. Immediately subscribing and moving to Montana 🏃💨
Gotta just love these 2, hope they do more reactions to Billy Eilish songs.😊
They are good together as a "group." But I'd rather just watch you guys!! Always a pleasure!
He hit the nail on the head about enjoying listening to songs like this
Love you Billieeee! Such a badass, authentic versatile style, with such a real and sweetest heart 🖤✨️

Funny you mention the background sounds from "Bad Guy" In a video with her brother (Who produced it) He said that background noise was taken from the crosswalk sound in Sydney Australia
Hey Dillon & Chris. This's Ryan. I hope all's good whitch'u. Well I'm thankful for your continues vlogs bros. This from a friend from Sacramento. Try to follow you guys regularly! Thanks 😄
Tim Foust is the bass for the country a cappella group Home Free and he has a 5 octave range. It’s absolutely insane. Everybody should go check him and the band out
From my silicone valley childhood, and teen years in Memphis, I think “guys” is California for “y’all”.
She is amazing and her brother is just as talented!
This song went over y’all heads 😂😂😂 I. Ever thought I’d see that haha
Billie likes scary/ horror movies & she translates that through her music. When you were commenting on the sound of Bad Guy, I think that is the inspiration she is drawing from.😈👌💕
