    How do organizations discover the fact that people within the organization are not satisfied & want to leave the organization & work for another organization?

      Michael, there are a number of tools to gauge employee job satisfaction and/or motivation. The most common method for organizations to run an employee pulse survey.     Thank you for the video, I found it very insightful. Is there a difference between Organization Development (OD) and organizationAL development. I read from a book that they're different and I didn't get it well. Thanks.

      Hi Ahmed, the scientific name for the function is 'organization development' (OD) and it is the system-wide application and transfer of behavioral science knowledge to the planned development, improvement, and reinforcement of the strategies, structures, and processes that lead to organizational effectiveness. Many refer to 'organizational behavior' (OB) as "organizational development", which is misleading. OB, by contrast, is the study of human behavior in an organizational setting, the human/organization interface, and the organization itself. I hope that helps.

      Consider organizational development as a hybrid of traditional OD but newer concepts associated organizational development may not utilize all the values associated with OD. For example, humanistic and collaborative philosophies. For example Six Sigma and Lean.

      Klarens, that's a wonderful question. In the first generation, OD practitioners and organizations demanding OD work focused primarily on change management. Now, in 21st century, the perspective has shifted to the individual and environment itself. We are looking to build certain virtues for the organizations that makes them sustainable, scalable and self-rejuvenating.
