Godlike tutorial. Most people had to learn how to GV the hard way(myself included) so it's great to see newcomers or people that still didn't get the hang of it have such an informative guide for them.
That's what I call a tutorial ! Very clean and clear. Good font that's not a pain for the eyes, texts that are not too fast for the foreigners like me... Awesome job :) And great Xenogears-style (if I'm not mistaken) ending :)
This is so great, and has been needed for a long, long time. Thanks for everything you're doing to help players new and old improve at the best game ever.
Wonderful tutorial sir, there has been a need of this sort of tutorial for Sol players for years now. Hopefully it'll be useful to some level in Xrd as well.
@@thatoneflyinghat I can't get eight, but you go left and right back and forth, and two buttons alternating, so I do slash with heavy slash. I can get six sometimes.
@@shoopoop21 I have since then figured out a way for me to do it semi-consistently. I just spin the stick in full circles and I run my thumb over the face buttons on my controller like a circle too and I usually get all the extra hits.
I know that this videos pretty old but does anyone have any tricks for doing gv on pad and is this easier in future games cause not being able to fully take advantage of this move consistently has killed any interest i had in playing sol
Hum. I did not check if it still work on the AC+R but you have invincibily when you starting to mash. And you can use this invincibily to bait the burst if you see it on mashing at the same time. I don't know if I make me clear enough, sorry.
Hello, I'm new to Guilty Gear or fighting game in general (actually played the 1st game a long time ago), I've understand some of the term for the game, but what does CL mean?
CL indicates "Clean Hit" which is a special property on a couple of Sol's specials. If a move is CL, it typically adds damage and untechable time to the hit so you can follow up with combos after more easily. The way to get a CL depends on the move but it's always when hitting airborne opponents.
VrRaiden Ahh I see, thank you for the thorough explanation :D. One more question, I only have AC+ and I was wondering what're the differences between AC+ Sol and AC+ R Sol. My main concern is whether the tutorial for AC+R is still applicable in AC+
pianime94 Sorry for taking a while, Sol in +R is essentially AC+ Sol with a few new things. The main things are extra untechable time on 6P (including air hit), addition of Fafnir, both Fafnir and FB Fafnir can now be special cancelled into (FB Fafnir ground slides, no wall bounce). The full list of changes is here: www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6862-r-sol-badguy-change-list/
pianime94 yeah defiinitely. I tend to make vids of stuff that isn't already out there and that will be less likely with Xrd, but I'm sure something will come up. If nobody gets to corner GF(YRC) OTG oki, that would be a top candidate for a first vid. I plan to make vids of BnB's as well like I did with +R.
YouSoSpice 1st is Everything Merges with the Night SOUND!SHOCK arrange ver. from Virtual On. 2nd is Main Cave remix from Another Metroid 2 Remake 3rd is Burnt Mota Phantasy Star 2 remix 4th is Dance of the Behemoth from GGXX Reload Korean OST
When I used to play pad i would put my thumb between 2 buttons and wiggle/rotate it to alternate 2 buttons quickly. And slide dpad thumb between downward diagonals quickly
Have you watched this video? It explains how to Clean Hit Sidewinder GGAC+: Sol Beginner Sidewinder Tutorial Sol's only moves with Clean Hit property are Grand Viper, Bandit Bringer, Sidewinder, FB Sidewinder, and FB Fafnir. They have to connect properly on an airborne opponent to be clean. Feel free to ask more if that video doesn't answer your question.

It's an accurate representation of my feelings when I first found it out
Felt dat
Thanks! GGPO just came out for AC+R so this is really helpful.

Indeed, I've met a ton of Sol players (and not Sol players) who didn't know how it worked so hopefully this helps that
This is so great, and has been needed for a long, long time. Thanks for everything you're doing to help players new and old improve at the best game ever.
Damn, that am2r music caught me completely off guard, love it! Amazing video as well!

Oh man, dat Dorkas theme.
Surprisingly fitting for these nice lessons on +R GV. Good shit yo.
Been playing with sol since day one and I learned a lot, thanks for the time and hard work in this tut, real good
This is a very good tutorial. Thank you for not doing overly obnoxious voice over commentary!
Glad you liked it, yeah text does it better for this kinda thing I'd say
The end of this tutorial made the entire video for me. Thanks VR!
Great tutorial mate. Holds up even after a decade.
What's the BGM you used though? Couldn't find it anywhere.
Excellent tutorial!
I know this game is really old, but it's my fav out of the series. Do you have any videos explaining how to chain into the Wild Throw?
I know this is an old video, but does anyone have any tips/tricks for mashing grand viper on pad? Can never seem get past 6 hits when mashing
What do you even mash? I can't get ANY extra hits.

I like the music you used for this tutorial.
Thanks, yeah you're not mistaken, I was looking for the saddest tracks I had and found that one haha
Cries in keyboard player.
Jokes aside, great video. Never knew that mashing too much would lead to a non-CH GV.
Man this video is great! Thank you very much!
Thanks this will help me for a video I'm going to make
Love dat virtual on music man. So good.
This video has been out a long time it's just been reposted with music
This move is awesome
Yo that Xenogears music tho

Care to share what those might be? It's possible I missed something of course

I play on pad, and no matter how much I mash, I can get 6 hits max on GV, does anyone have any tips on how to mash on pad fast enough?
When I used to play pad i would put my thumb between 2 buttons and wiggle/rotate it to alternate 2 buttons quickly. And slide dpad thumb between downward diagonals quickly
Hi, I wanted to ask how to CH other stuff, like 2H, since I'm not finding any tutorials for them.

Ready to mash like a kid in a grand viper store!
