I do like that they're reducing friction for this kind of thing. Like if your pure intention was always to just flip, it saves you a lot of time and money having to buy the card, wait for it in the mail, look at it once you get it, send it for grading, wait some more, get it back, and then throw it right back on eBay or wherever. With this you never touch the thing. It becomes way more abstract. You're essentially just trusting that they actually got it, they actually graded it and you've been deposited some money after fees and all.
So many of you are so pressed. Carrying on like flipping cards is new, what do you think was going on for decades at card shows prior to the internet; dealers set up and bought and sold and sold what they bought. From one show to the next. Hobby magazines were full of ads offering to buy collections. Card shops have been buying and reselling cards since forever. If no one was flipping cards, there’d be nothing for you to buy other than packs and boxes. Good luck pulling that card you really want. If you want to collect the “old school” way, you can. You don’t have to grade, you don’t have to flip, you don’t have to avail yourself to the new services being offered. Or you can. Do your thing, it really is that easy.
I thought about a similar concept yesterday aside from being completely hands off and still viewing the cards in person for grading but then sending everything directly to auction and seeing how it would do
Per the usual NEO, thanks for the update. I give props for PSA thinking ahead so much, especially compared to its competitors. These grading compananies just keep lagging behind on providing these services. Now, my concern. Somebody else mentioned this in the comments below. As somebody that enjoys occationally setting up at shows and enjoys going to shows, how does this effect, especially the smaller local shows? Curious to hear your thoughts on this. Having inventory is a big reason that I have not tried the eBay vault yet (also the cost). Maybe we are just counting on people still trying not to pay all the fees. Until next time.....
I would guess I speak for most -- I wouldn't submit a card via any method that doesn't allow me to hold the card in my hand and view it/analyze it...best of luck to thos that go down that road
They won’t lower pricing unless their intake lessens substantially and they have to pivot. They’ve been consistently grading at high numbers so that’s doubtful in the near future.
What you described, not needing to touch the cards at all, is really a lot like the NFT cards that Panini made…what does it even matter if the card was actually ever produced? It was designed, has the sickest patch ever, who cares if it never went through the printing/cutting/collating/packaging/shipping/sales process?
The amount of people here complaining about PSA/ebay monopoly while not understanding that they are providing more options and services for people is comical. If you don’t like it, don’t do it, it’s not rocket surgery
@@NEO_Cards_ComicsI think they want you to be more negative and trash PSA for rolling out a new service that many collectors (not them) might find useful. Or declining to interview Nat Turner when the opportunity presented itself. Maybe jealousy cuz they have to claw through unsorted dollar boxes at card shows and are not the target audience for these new services.
This is the future. Gambling and sports cards as commodities. Decent chance far down the road a backlash forms at some point. A monopoly is never good for PR long-term.
Sounds like a really fast way to pay PSA and EBAY fees!
This is good for flippers trying to build a bankroll.
@@sp123 Good for flippers to lose their bankroll

Yup…that’s the way I wanna go. No shipping fees and stress. I’m in
Just get a digital card or
An NFT
And no chance serious comic collectors do this.
Gotta say smart business moves by PSA and eBay. Quicker liquidity is always better for everyone
This is cool and all but seems like it would hurt the card show scene. Why go to shows if I can quick flip online
90% of people who go to shows for anything but box digging are just there for the tax “benefits.”

I don’t see the PSA population on any EBay cards, near the Condition indicator, has this feature been rolled out yet?
Question? Do you have to have a PSA membership to do this service?
Thanks comc 2.0, 1 of ur sponsors
Yup
How would the psa up charge work then?
Agree. It is a race to liquidity.

You’d hope this could lower end user price . If costs reduce for flippers than should help collectors .
if only things worked that way but instead its just more profit for them

this is not a collectors hobby anymore.
Hobby and industry, two separate things.
People who have no interest in it as a hobby have hijacked the term to be sure, though.
Yeah but I’m old school so I touch everything

To think even the people who use these features didn’t have their own collection is hilarious

This will never become the norm
Ebay & PSA definitely have the market cornered when it comes to poor business practices & greed. Capitalism has never felt stronger.

Too many people want their cards for display or show off, every one has a pc, would you want this with comics neo?
