Was there ever a greater live TV performance than this? The night Bob showed all the punks, new romantics and new wavers that he was better than all of them. I watch this quite regularly, just to cheer myself up.
I have always had a love / hate relationship with the sloopy, lets slide up to the note, if you can sort of hit it at best.. Dylan style of musicianship , Being a Harp player myself, I can't believe he picks up the wrong Harp. On national television he didn't get organised 1st before the performance and sort out which key the band was going to play in and then have it ready, Unbelievable.
bullshit he intentionally misplaced it to let the Plugz kick ass by themselves on live on national tv. he's not rushing to solve the problem, he's lackadaisical about it. probably to intentionally not get organized 1st if he in that moment didn;'t believe in it
"I knew I had the right harmonica here somewhere." Bob is one of the worst harmonica players who played in public. But he was a killer lyricist and songwriter, so I'll forgive him.
Even Dylan knew the plugz were one of the greatest rock n roll bands ever.
Bob was frantically looking for a harmonica in the key of Z.
Best comment 😂
Z for Zimmermann
It's in the Green Room! Go get it. We'll wing it. They'll wait. America will wait.
Kudos to the band The Plugz, who had no idea what was going to be played until they got onstage.
Bob seems to be having a grand old time...

Yes, the Ed Sullivan show 1964, when Ed walked out to a screaming audience and millions watching on TV, and said Ladies & Gentlemen, The Beatles
Nooooo❤
Probably the best r'n'r band performance ever.
The Honeybees' "You Need Us"?
Just imagine a Dylan album with the plugz, it would've been amazing
Daniel Romano imagined it: th-cam.com/video/uqeerOQLT1c/w-d-xo.html
the Empire Burlesque songs with The Plugz would elevate that to his best album
This is peak Dylan
Departure Dylan
he had rock and roll roots and this shows it
I remember this well
Cannot BELIEVE it was so long ago. New direction for Dylan.... again
Guitar player channeling Keith in more ways than one. Great version.
This is awesome! Made my weekend!
rollin dylan stones. man that tele sounds good through that marshall half stack
Wow. Just awesome.
The Plugz!!!!! Chalo Quintana!! YES!!!
Leno would have never had Dylan on. Thank you Dave.
Or The Plugz.
@@nickn626 You'd think with Dave's hair, he would avoid calling attention to the Plugz.
Never mention the that name in the same sentence as Dave again! Blasphemous!
i love Bob!!!!
THXS FOR SHARING...
On fire!
❤❤❤❤❤...
毎週 TVで みたいですね!
Does Bob ever sit down and speak with Dave? I've never seen it.

Dylan and The Stones.
"Zooba Zida, Hiza Wada, P-P-Pudin Popzaz"... He sounds like someone familiar.

Judas!!!
Good luck finding talk shows these days that let the band do a 5+ minute song.
Lesson: Always have the right harmonic inside your coat pocket. Oh, and try to play some songs that deserve it.

He can’t sing, he can’t dance, he can’t play guitar. But he sure plays a mean harmonica, if he can find the right one.
