Oh, then I have been three times his client but something weird happens with Meranom now, did they run out of watches and spare pieces? Almost everything is "out of stock" meranom.com/en/amphibian-classic/120/
I just bought the Amphibia 420269 and its awesome! It's interesting that the video mentioned nuclear war because the event that started me down the path of looking for a mechanical watch was after reading the book about an EMP attack on America called "One Second After." After watching this video it makes sense that a watch developed for the military would have, as part of its design focus, it's durability in the event of a nuclear war. Then sometime in the middle between reading that book and present day the batteries for the watch I was wearing went dead at the most inopportune time. Which increased my desire for a mechanical watch. Batteries can't go dead if there's no batteries to begin with. The Vostok winding down and stopping is the only challenge, concerning the watch's power, that I have to be mindful of. It's a great watch! I just hope it remains as great after the honeymoon period is over as it is now.
Yep, unlike the 'appliance' sorta watches, they have so much 'character' and HISTORY! Like my soviet era Komandirskie, with dial featuring the first Russian frigate, launched by Peter the Great, pictured with the recently sunk guided missile cruiser Moscova, the (former) pride of the Baltic Fleet!
Finally bought an Amphibia, with the Compass bezel. I love it….. I’ve already got my second one en route, due to arrive in a week, a Komandirskie. Rugged, reliable, stylish and not expensive! Reminds me of my old Zenit SLR camera from the 70’s.
G-Shock are the digital version of Vostok. The design of the lock ring seal on the caseback, and the domed acrylic actually improve the water resistance at depth, truly innovative.
Today, my cousin gave me the exact same watch as a little gift. Damn, I'm so proud to have one of these. I think, I'm going to by me a set of these, to be able to choose.
Nice watches my only complaint is that some movements leave the factory with very little lubrication resulting in the watch seizing. It happened with mine. A watchmaker sorted it though and it now runs fine.
I love it! Just this one little video says so much. Thank You. I don't have any Vostok products but now I love my Chaika, Luch and Zaria watches all the more. If "Butterfingers" Dimitri ever needs work, he can come over and play Baseball for the Chicago Cubs! After dropping his watch 3 times in one video, he'd fit right in. Russian Watches are the best!
I used to have a komandirskie watch back in the 90s.I wore it no more than 5 years. The chromed brass case of the watch coroded heavily and the dial changed colour from blue to some kind of pale violet-brown, the thread on the crown was worn and it wouldn't screw and the plastic glass got so scratched that the dial is hardly visible.Anyway till this day if I take this watch and wind it it still runs and keeps good time :).The movement is tough but not the watch.Anyway get the Amfibian
I got a Vostok Amphibian watch and I really like it. I use the rotating bezel to keep track of the actual time in between setting the date after a few months of the mechanical watch movement gains or loses time in a few months.
I have my Vostok Komandirskie picked out and will be ordering it in a couple weeks. I love mechanical watches and automatics, so I am really looking forward to getting this watch.
Yes, wonderful watches! Tough and sturdy, no western junk...on the western stuff, you just pay for the brand name! Now I have 5 Vostoks, all are great pieces of russian craftmanship...
I have two Amphibias and two Komandirskies. Considering their reliability, value, history, looks, and 10 year service interval, why choose anything else?
The AK-47 of watches. Purposeful in looks but not really pretty, not needlessly complicated, accurate enough to get the job done, will keep working in spite of nearly anything you throw at them, and will probably run forever. I have four.
I bought a new Vostok Amphibia two weeks ago. I started wearing it, after a week, the watch stopped on my arm at 10pm, even though I wore it all day. I had to move the clock more intensively, so he set off. It has been running properly ever since, no problem with it. Give the class another chance, what do you think? That stop is a little unsure ...
Even with an automatic, you should give it a wind every week or so. Personally, mine are all straight manual and haven't given me a moment's trouble in over 5 yrs.
I hand built my last Amphibia using just off the shelf parts, mainly to see if I could do it but also because there wasn't a white radio room 22mm lugged 090, can see all my Soviet and Russian watches on my channel with some really cool Soviet pieces like the awesome Chaika Stadium "evil eye" :)
@@Mahbubnhp I've had mine for 5 years its scratched and showing brass ive had two straps so far both leather (keep getting wet). Watch is 35 seconds a day fast. Not bad at all ticks like a dream.
I have a Vostok partner, which a western markets targeted Vostok with worst type of water resistance rating at 20 meters. I am going to get the amphibia as my next Vostok, to compare and find out what is the difference between the 2, so the amphibia has the 200 meters water proof rating. Komandirskie might not be on my radar, as most of them are manual wand watches...
I have the Vostok submarine watch and the watch won't wind up anymore in certain places , from 12 -5 , Are the gears on the balance wheel stripped ? Can this be fixed ? Dave W.
if the watch is only winding in certain positions, it is possible that there may be a problem with the gears or mechanism that drive the balance wheel.
Hey, dreamer, all I can say to you is: try running over your Walmart watch with a car and see what happens. I have a vintage military "Wostok" and I love it.
I must admit that I was surprised by the high level of technology in the factory-even though some of those machines were probably moved to Chistopol City when the damned Nazis were advancing. I have some Amp and Koman watches and I do enjoy them, and they are tough little guys.

Poor Dimitri! Perhaps klutzy, "all-thumbs" type gentlemen like him, should NOT be wearing very nice items like this? I wonder how he performs with the standard agility, fine motor skills test of "walking & chewing gum at the same time?"
Where is the part of the shop where they make the watch stop working and doesn't run accurately ? Is there a separate department for that ? These watches are like toy cars. They look fun, but are crap. Really.
Also remember vostok are one of the few watch manufacturers who do everything in house.
The dude in the video visiting the factory is the dude running the Meranom online store where you can buy Vostoks!

No, you're wrong not the same guy

I started with 710 Amphibia and now have 4 total. Love these watches. The best value period!
They have the nasty tendency to multiply.
Do you still use them?
I own 3 Amphibia and 1 Komandirskie....Love my Vostok Watches....best watch for the money in the world

I just bought my first Vostok and I’m extremely happy with it, it’s as if you go back in time but it still looks modern.
I have had Amphibia model for couple of years now. Definetly recommended!

@@tornagawn thank you. I’ll try direct from the factory.
Very interesting. Given a Vostok for Christmas. Strap change needed but very happy. English subtitles are available by clicking on CC button.
The G-Shocks of the automatic/mechanical world. Or are G-Shocks the Vostoks of the digital world? Love this brand so much.

Very cool! The way they advertise it kind of reminds me of G-shock :P
I have a question please. Can you swim with the basic model Komandirskie without damage to the watch? NOT the K series, just basic Komandirskie.
Disregard the question.. yes you can...no problem. I think these watches could survive anything.
@Sr. Marco Pagano no it's not, the old komandirskie is only 3atm water resistant. That s the amphibian whichr is 20atm.

The Vostok Amphibian was designed by people who like to drink. That is how tough the watch is.

what is the best site to buy Vostok watches?
MERANOM
...from a metal piece to a timepiece..!!!

Everyone says Japanese watches have taken over. Russia takes a Japanese Honda, runs their watch over and shows it’s perfectly fine
From the US, eBay is the best option for buying.
Now finally Russian Post works promptly. You can get their clocks in America for 1-2 weeks
Same for Australia, bought one from the west, not east so it's gonna take a while
6:22 what another jewel in the factory wow! Russian Girls

Great!
can't understand a word either but great video.

Спасибо деду за побед!!! СССР
I know the Amphibia is rated for 200 meters, I didn't think the Komandirski is.
I always heard Russian made stuff was built to last. Not the sexiest, but utilitarian. I want to try this company out.
Many Russian/Soviet products have a certain charm to them.
You can't ever have too many Vostoks
I watched this while wearing a vostok watch.
6:25 nice close UP of the girl.

a result of a year?

All Vostok Amphibia watches have stainless steel case, bezel and crown nowadays!
Even Komandirski, I think!
Just like AK-47's, Russian Vostok watches never break down..............
Wow! Not made in china? With all the anti Russia propaganda these days I got interested in Russian products. Got one of the classic mechanical ones.
Anti magnetic material in case of a nuclear explosion, Wtf?
Moscow time seller ebay fantastic seller love my vostoks built to last.

Thought Vostok was manufacturered in Soviet era & no company exist now
Vostok is still in business and producing movements and watches
