For me The Run is the best NFS I've ever played. It has a great sense of speed and this feeling of pushing a machine to its very limits. They captured it well. EDIT : btw, yes I grew up with old NFSMW, NFSU, and Carbon. But if you take off the nostalgia-tinted glasses, The Run does has its own merits (just writing this as last time I told people I liked The Run I got flamed for not liking the "old best" NFS, like come on)
Me it felt mediocre at best, Story is just..a laughable, I laughed so hard on the ending because "Here that's it you beat the game" type of thing, I would expect a flashback or something of *how Jack did piss off the mafia or how he met Sam or such* But nope, all you do is drive and not care the story, Overall, Story is just garbage and threw out the window because of EA. Multiplayer is just two words: Hennessey's and Volkswagen, The end
I quite like the concept of the Cannonball Run and I much prefer A -> B racing over circuits, so I actually quite enjoyed this game. Might be the best NFS experience, actually. Shame it didn't sell well. I'd like more.

I'm one hour in now and have to say, it feels like because of this rather silent and (seemingly) unmotivated commentator, Kuru's own commentary and explanations are happening less than usual. The last minutes felt like it's definitely getting better, though. Still enjoying the run, of course, and looking forward to the rest :)
Has anybody noticed that on the map that shows your position in the race and how far along in the race you are, during the load screen between levels, it basically shows that New York is in Florida! I love the accuracy of EA's games!

Yeah extreme difficulty was seriously extreme. But I did it. Never got platinum on all the challenges however. But seeing this glitch (never bothered to look up glitches or bugs in the game) I might just absolutely destroy my personal record. Nice run, gotta love the almost scripted crashes you can't avoid no matter what. Especially if you're mid-air. Always loved those.
Sesto elemento is a track car. It’d crush a a heavy, road car like the GTR in a drag race regardless of drivetrain. That Lamborghini weighs nothing compared to the GTR.
For the Run to work like that, they must have staggered the start by at least a couple hours. You think the SF cops would have been out in force sooner. Also kinda wonder why a Run would be routed through an avalanche blasting zone.
A shame this game went so poorly. I would've like to see more of something like this done a little bit smoother. Less QTEs, added PvP (weekly race events across all maps, simulating an actual race from one end to the other?), clearer OST maybe, and more polish to the game's story and graphics perhaps. Development time might've killed this game as much as anything else, but I did enjoy it back when I played it years and years ago. A great run to watch, lots of fun and impressive execution (when the game wasn't throwing wrenches at him)
I'd love a game like this with zero scripting in the races themselves, your position is your own, not something prescripted as part of the stage. But hey, it's an NFS game, artificial bullshit is the name of the game.
Only 20 seconds of actual gameplay in the first 9 minutes of the run. Pretty ironic that a arcade racing game called "Need for Speed" is slower than Final Fantasy. x-D

Most wanted story is more mediocore and ppl blinded by nostalgic. Police and gameplay was the only good thing about it. But yeah, MW is good too.
Watching this in March 2020 and them talking about how it's nice out and yet no one on the streets of the game hits differently.

Prolly the hardest nfs game ive ever played i couldnt beat it on easy and this is the only racing game i couldnt get into or be good at
i guess you havent played the 2010 hot pursuit then. some time trials were extremely difficult to get gold in, but I had no problem beating the run

Chrono Pie the avalanche was a short cut for jack because if he didn’t take the avalanche route he would had been way further back
