Your presentation is so genuine and respectful. Serenity and peaceful are the key take away that most of chinese tourists missed all of it. Normally, thais would try to meditate in such an enviroment with bell sound. I would recomend you both to find place to learn meditatation before leaving thailand.
We both really like to meditate, but we have not done it enough lately. Thank you for the reminder 🙏🏼🙂
The amount of detail put into those buildings is mesmerizing.
Right? It was jaw-dropping
Seeing you two really happy, while traveling, makes me really happy. Watching you guys traveling is like a tonic or an apertif for the soul. You guys remind me of early Kara and Nate, but you guys are unique. Keep growing, in every way
That is incredibly nice of you to say, thank you so much! We're beaming reading this 😊
Grand Palace is still the royal residence, The King visits the palace from time to time so all what tourist allows to visit is just part of the whole complex which are the temples museum and throne hall, the big building you thought the King used to live is actually a throne hall. The royal residence is in the inner court of the complex where tourist not allow to visit, that inner court is around half of the total area. That throne hall actually allows to visit inside but for some reason it close during the time you visit, Id been there a few times since I dont have to pay for the ticket I found that sometime it close and sometimes it open, dont know the reason behind but it look like a palace in Europe not really difference, the one that really look special even can compare to good looking European Palace is Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall but itd been close for renovation since before the covid19. But you can look from outside.
The throne hall is opened on Chakri Day, April 5th if my old memory still holds.
Thank you for the insight! Very interesting, and it seems we missed a few things.
@@kamolhengkiatisak1527 Chakri Day is April 6th.
Every time i see Grand Palace. I think about Ayudhya, if it was not destroyed by the war, there would be very beautiful architecture building like this but area bigger more than 10 times.
10 times bigger! How many of the buildings are still standing? We did not know a war destroyed it.
@@OnePackWanderers Historical city of Ayutthaya is about 1,800 rai but i think Grand palace is about 150+ rai. Ayutthaya was capital city of Siam(Thai) before was destroyed by war (with Myanmar) The city was burn 🔥 all, now become ancient ruin buildings. Then after war the capital move and rebuild here around 240-250 years ago.

Thank you for sharing this video! Reminded me of the way I walked back home from the MRT Sanam Chai passed the grand palace and all those way. Really miss it there. However, if you have sometime next time go to National Museam it is not too far from the grand palace also a lot to see there. You can spend whole day and then you can look on Google map then you walk to Tha prachan then you see many places for eating as well. Have a wonderful time!
Good to know, thank you very much for the information! The museum sounds really cool, and we'd both like to go 🙂
Thank you so much for your video. This time is covid outbreak so less visitor . very nice time for take a photo. The most of all i like Thai dessert in the shop. 😁😁😁
Thank you for having us in your country 😊🙏🏼
Thailand love you all❤🇹🇭
Love this. Ur lucky to be there without the crowds. While ur in Bangkok, be sure to see the Jim Thompson House Museum. It's down the end of a soi at the National Stadium BTS station. Also, beware of scammers telling you it's closed. Get info off website. It's the most impressive traditional Thai home in Bangkok, and it was built by an American expat who was friends with local people and Hollywood celebrities. You can also have lunch in the garden there. 😉
Right!??
Very nice place
Thanks for the tip! That sounds right up our alley!
Wow the Palace is beautiful. No people definitely gives you the opportunity to enjoy everything and not fell rushed.
Definitely! We saw pictures of what is used to look like and it was crazy busy!
I’m Thai.....thanks for making a great Thailand traveling video!! Welcome to Thailand!!!
Thank you very much for saying that, and thank you for the nice welcome 😊😄
Wow the Palace is beautiful.
Really stunning place 😍
Highly recommend not to wear black clothes but white, especially when u are outdoor in Thailand. Will help you a lot with the afternoon heat.
Good tip. It was laundry day, unfortunately, and so we wore black. We're from Arizona originally, so the heat isn't *too* bad for us 😅
Beautiful video, amazing architecture. Can't wait for your next video, take care and thanks again for sharing 😊.
Thank YOU for watching 😊
Big thnaks for your promoting an attraction places in Thailand. Love you so much.
Still amazing of quiet atmosphere of grand palace ..if you come before pandemic That's very much different
We looked at some pictures on Google of what it used to be like! So lucky to see it now, I think it was much more enjoyable this way 😄
Thanks for making a great Thai travel Vlog!!!...loved it!!
Durian is one of those “Hate it or love it” kinds of fruits. Love to see you try once. There are many kinds of Durians. My favourites are Mon Thong, and Chanee.
We will definitely try durian at some point. You're the second one to say that mon thong is good, so I think we'll try to find that one 😄
EPIC! you have always had great vids, but THIS one...wow! The best so far! I am looking forward to your future journey, competition and WIN! ;)
Well hey, thanks a lot for saying that!! We try to always improve, and it's really awesome hearing that we are! Have a great day 😄
Nice work one pack wanderers. Bangkok is truly something!
I'm Thai, but I've never been there. Thank you for taking pictures for us 🙏
Thank you for coming with us 😊
Thai people enter free (This is the public property of Thai people.Every Thai people are the owner of this place. Why the owner have to pay fee for enter their house.OK.The Foreiners are not the owner so You must pay fee.)
This place is amazing, when is no people you can actually enjoy all the art work and feel the history of it.
realy like the craftman/artisan ship if things like this a place as big as that temple mustve taken centuries to build using the old style arts and crafts
The art especially was really enjoyable when it was so quiet and hardly anyone was around 😊
From the looks of the museum, it's pretty incredible what they built it with. Just hand saws and chisels. It is amazing what people accomplished with power tools or heavy equipment.
Thanks for the video and best wishes on your travels .
Thank you for the well wishes, friend!

Do you guys have plan to visit Benjakitti park? It's underconstruction though but some sections are already opened.
We have never heard of Benjakitti! Definitely will look into it
The Grand Palace statue, Angkor Wat & Prambanan or Borobudur...they all look similar...even the Thai Ramayana story similar to Indonesia
I like to travel during this pandemic cuz I get to explore a lot more places in a short period of time cuz not many tourists. You get alot more done in less time and the service somewhat more efficient.
True. There are some areas where things are more difficult especially really touristy areas like Koh Phi Phi. But in general I think you’re right.
Loved this. Went there but filmed on an early GoPro and the footage was terrible. Yours is great
GoPros are tough but some of the older ones took quite wonky looking footage! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
I just visited this The Royal Grand Palace last 2 weeks... It's magnificent
Agreed! It is an incredible sight.
1:52 that's my school when i was young, really miss it.
We did not know that was a school! It's cool you went to school right across from the Grand Palace 😄
The Buddha statues and gold pagoda surfaces in the palace and Wat Pho are real gold. That doesn't retain heat, but for the most part, you can't touch it.
Thank you for the tour. You did a good job. Did you go see the sleeping Buddha, it was close by. It is amazing.
The one at Wat Pho? We saw it when we first came to Thailand 🙂 If that's not the one though, I'm afraid we did not see it.
Durian ... Tastes Like Heaven, Price Like Gold, but smells like Hell!
For the ones who love, they say that its mell is really good.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha we've heard it doesn't smell too great! Still want to try it though
Hi guys ! There is another famous Temple "Wat Pho" ( The temple of the Reclining Buddha) you shouldn't miss and the entrance fee is only 100 baht. It's about 10 minutes walk from the Grand Palace or about 5 minutes walk from Sanam Chai Mrt station.
We were lucky enough to visit Wat Pho a couple months ago! We made a video about it, I think. It's a beautiful temple, and we have never seen anything like the reclining Buddha there 😊
☺Wow!! So beautiful city and richest culture. I think about street foods, shopping, grand palace, sea and nature.
😍You guys are really cute couple 💕beautiful country & lovely people.🥰
Green is my favourite colour of curry in Thailand. Yum!! You guys have to try some fresh durian. Personally I like it but you do have to have a few bites at least because it is so unique in every way. Happy Travels
We'll definitely try durian! Just need to find the right place 🤔
Will you be going to krabi? We are going there next year, and a few other places, love following your videos
If we have time, we'd really like to make it to Krabi. It's one of the places we feel we should have gone when we were in southern Thailand. Looks beautiful down there! Where else will you be going?
Ayuttaya is worth the visit and about 80klm away from Bangkok
OOhh yes so lucky to see the Palace with no tourist crush gr8t vids guys
We're definitely going to visit Ayutthaya, once we get a full day 😄
If you come again at dusk and you will be amazed with the colorful lights. 🌈❤️
We need to do a whole video of just exploring Bangkok at night! It seems the city really lights up after dark 😊
You guys should go to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon if you want to see another truly amazing and incredible Pagoda
Many thank for good vdo, i'm thai never been there thoroughly before
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Wind chime is a common sight in several temples in Thailand. The sound is nice and relaxing. The adapted Thai version of Ramayana is called Ramakien in Thai language. Thai king is modelled after Hindu Rama God as a god king. The present dynasty is Chakri (a weapon of god king Rama). King Vachiravud (Rama VI) later advocated all previous kings and subsequent kings with Rama prefix. The Chakri dynasty founder is thus named King Rama I. The present king is Rama X. The Grand Palace where Thai kings used to reside is now occasionally used to host state banquet for visiting king/president by the Thai King. The last king who lived in this grand palace was King Rama VIII, the elder brother of King Rama IX and the uncle of the present king Rama X. In certain gates you can see Chinese stone deity (about 1.5 meter tall) or Singha (Chinese lion mystical beast) guarding the entrance. The famous Singha beer was brewed in Thailand during King Rama VI reign, allegedly supervised by German brew master (now Thai master taking over).
Thank you for the historical insight, it's very nice to have. You seem to know a lot about Thailand's history and culture 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers I am a Thai, 70 years old now. Childhood was bitter and poor, studying in temple schools and then entered famous govt high school till graduation. After that got admitted to Chulalongkorn University (the oldest and most prestigious) but I studied for only one month before quitting due to having got scholarship to study in Australia in 1970. Graduated in 1975, came back to work for govt and then won another scholarship to study at Ohio University (Athens) in 1982. Graduated 2 years later. Retired from working at the age of 60, 10 years ago. I like reading since young from public libraries, thus knowing a lot of things.
👍👍👍 Beautiful video taken at a fascinating city. Thanks for sharing. Greeting from Melbourne 👍👍👍
Hello! We'd love to visit Australia when your borders reopen! Cheers 😄
You might be surprised why around the palace there are so many Thais of Chinese descent from various symbols. Not far from there is Chinatown.
That's because when the Chinese immigrated to Thailand. Those people would gather around the palace. which actually There will be a Chinese community and the Indians nearby Chinese people like to sell general goods. Most Indians sell silk. As for Thai people in the past, they would set up their houses far away because they could own land. But immigrants do not have much choice. They were all around the palace. After about 100 years The government has a policy for people in the country to have unity. by allowing people to immigrate to Thailand in the generation 2-3 or more must set a Thai surname and abolish the use of Chinese surnames including the Indians and also changing the law to give them access to government services as well as having the right to study and govern the country
Thailand has lost all conflicts and racial discrimination. which has been there before
It also abolished the slavery system. At present, racism in Thailand is very rare. Most of the people who are racist are older people. The new generation has almost no racism.
Sometimes when you go anywhere, Thai people look at you with consideration.
That doesn't mean he's racist. But because of our different races, both in appearance, face, skin color, eye color, some Thai people have never seen Westerners, they look just curious. especially African ethnicities Thai people tend to look a bit more considerate than westerners.
That's because Thai people have never seen or unfamiliar please don't worry
Wow! Your compliments are awesome.
This was very well-written 🙂 Thank you for the context. I think it's a very beautiful thing that Thailand is so welcoming of other people. A lot of the world could learn from Thailand 😊
Wow. Thank you so much for your beautiful insight.🙏
Omg I didn't know you can take mrt there and walk just a bit. And I'm Thai 😂😂 15 mins walk is not too bad if it isn't too hot. Normally, I take a bus. I haven't been there for years....wow I'm surprised to see that noone was there. In the past, it's very crowded.
The walk wasn't so bad! We should've brought more water though, because it was HOT 😂
We saw pictures of what it used to look like, and the crowds were crazy!
Not more than 4 years from now, the new Orange Line subway train will be completed. There will be a train station near the Grand Palace. That is going to make the walk even shorter to the temple. At the moment, Many of both subway and elevated train lines are being constructed. In the future, more of interesting tourist attractions spots in the outskirt of Bangkok will be more easily accessible.
You both are really nice. Wish to come across someday and take you around. 😍
That would be nice 🙂
Another beauty
Keep them coming
When you try some fresh durian, just tell the seller you want Monthong (ทุเรียนหมอนทอง). It's the most widespread durian in Thailand; It's also the most famous exported variety.
Thank you for the useful tip! That's really thoughtful of you 🙂
Good to see you going there! It's been awhile for me visiting the palace as Thai. However, good to see you stay at Onnut. Used to live there a year ago.
If you like Thai's Wat (temple), I recommend you going to Ayutthaya, up north from Bangkok around 1-2 hours. It's the old capital of Thailand thousand years ago. There's many ruins of Wat and Palace, and also a good Roti Saimai (saw you ate once, a shredded cotton candy wrapped in roti) sold there! Easiest to drive a car, or I think there'll be some public transportation such as provincial van.
Another thing I want to recommend, as a Thai Tea enthusiast my whole life, I found that Karun Thai Tea (a brand) serves the best Thai Tea. They locate in many places, but my mutual place is at a mall named EmQuartier by BTS Phromphong. At the mall, it has a roof top bar "Escape Bar Bangkok" with beach vibe, you can enjoy Sukhumvit view over there.
There used to be a boat ride to Ayutthaya with a return bus ride.
@@travelpointone991 Oh didn't know that before but yeah it's possible to take a boat. Thank you!
Onnut is really nice, you are right. Having the Lotus nearby is nice 🙂
We definitely want to visit Ayutthaya. We'll be sure to try the roti samai place, if it is still around 😊
Thanks again for all the information and tips, it is much appreciated 🙏🏼
Scammers would be those who'd tell you that the Grand palace is closed and they will take you to shop instead.
Luckily there was none of that, though we did have a few TukTuk drivers that said that when we went to Wat Pho a few months ago 😅
It’s quite expensive for 500 baht for foreigners but it has many hidden museums and exhibitions inside. (Even Thais have to research before)
8:29 ปราสาทพระเทพบิดร or Royal Pantheon will open only special day like Chakri establishments day (6 April), King and late King memorial day (28 July, 13 October, 23 October, 5 December). In Covid-19 pandemic, we all have to check the opening schedule.
Ramakien is Thai king modified version of Ramayana.
10:20 Chakri Maha Prasat means “Gigantic Throne hall of Chakri dynasty” . It was built and completed in 1882 with mixed Thai traditional architecture and Western style. In the present day, The king still use this for welcoming the Royal guests like State leaders, Foreign Royal Family members or ambassadors.
Ps. I suggest to go to the National Museum. It’s not far from the Grand Palace.
Wow, thanks a lot for taking the time to write out all this. That's very interesting that the king still uses it for some official business. It's a beautiful complex, and the blend of Thai & European architecture of Chakri Maha Prasat, in particular, was something we have never seen before.
When we are in the area again, we'll be sure to check out the National Museum 🙂
On the first day of the year, it's free for the entrance of most of the temples and museums.
Ah dang, we missed it by only a few days 😅
Best breakfast my frnd,von voyage..
Always love the vlog. Do you recommend to stay in chiang rai for 1 week?
If you are comfortable riding a motorbike around, there's a lot of stuff to see around Chiang Rai and a week would definitely be worth it.
Beautiful Temple and Palace 😉👍
don't you have to put socks during the visit in the palace?
Not as far as we are aware. There are no signs requesting it, and plenty of people were barefoot (including Thai).
what r u doing before you traveling.
We both had many jobs. Coffeeshop, cleaning Airbnbs, fixing cars, and selling clothes.

You walked past my high school!!
Ha, no way! We stopped and spoke with an older gentlemen that said he was a teacher at one of the schools around there.
Now both of you are back 30 years ago that found in grand palace .. not much ppl in grand palace. Hear bells, peaceful for life.
It was so peaceful we almost fell asleep just sitting in the shade by one of the beautiful buildings 😂
This is the place “must see” of Bangkok…
You are definitely right!
Pretty sure that in pre-pandemic, about 70% of tourists around grand palace area were Chinese (main land).
Therefore, as long as the Chinese tourists are not allowed to get out from their main land, these areas of Bangkok will keep on being 'unusual' empty.
Wow! We had no idea that Thailand attracted so many Chinese tourists. It makes perfect sense, we just had no idea!
Love your enegy. If you wanna try some Duriun you must find a best , not too soft not too hard best flavour will solf like you touch a grape and colour mustbe a bright yellow not white or dark, flaver will like you eat a soft melon not like an oniun , enjoy :)
Thank you for the info! I feel like we'll be pros when we pick out a durian 😎
💛
The giant guardians, of which there are 12, of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, are the ONLY ones in Thailand to face inward toward the temple because legend has it that the emerald buddha was carved from a stone gifted by the gods, so valuable that it must be guarded at all times. So the giants keep a watchful eye on the palladium of the kingdom.
Very interesting! It's very impressive that the Buddha is a solid piece of jasper. I can see why it would be viewed as a gift from the gods!
You did a good job with great information. Impress seeing you guys wearing Jeans. It's so hot. hehehe...
Haha it was hot, but we wanted to be respectful of the rules 😅
Your channel is awesome, by the way! You share so much valuable information and it's all really helpful 😊
Reasons that they charge entrance fee for tourists Because Thai people have to pay tax for the whole year And that money come for maintenance of this Palace and many National parks
That does make sense 😄
Sharing what happened to us yesterday.. .. we diverted by con man or gentle Man helping us.. ?? We just reached before 12:30 and about to cross roads for GRAND PALACE.. one Man came to us and said at this time tourist cannot enter to palace only Thai people can enter.. only after 13:30 tourist can enter to palace so for One our go for boat ride which is cheap weekend Said.. called the tuk tuk n make us sit there n go for boat ride.. we didn't realize until we reached boat.. I think we totally coned by gentle looking man and diverted us to boat ride or is there really something ceremony happening so we tourist not allow at that time... 31/7/22

Most scammer would be tuktuk and taxi and park around there. They would try to take you to jewelry or sourvenir shop(overpreced, inferior quality) which they would get commission from the stores.
Ah, that makes sense. We also read that some people will say you can't wear sandals, or that the Grand Palace is closed. I guess we got lucky 😬

One thing in eating the green curry is that.. Thais never eat the green leaves or in Thai... Bai (leaf) Makrut (kaffir lime) in the curry. It is put in the curry to add fragrant flavour to it. Cheers....
I thought that may be the case! I did eat one of the leaves and it was very tough, so I decided I probably should not eat the rest 😂
