..."mankind" (humankind!!!!), "men" (no mention of women ever working/doing anything!!) And "white cotton harvested by black men" (women & men who were enslaved!!!!!), "...and teaching Indians the ways of white men" (more like abusing and degrading the people who saved them and taught them to survive those first winters!!!) ...all said in a sing-songy voice as if it's all so delightful. The true historical value of this film is to illustrate how messed up the values and viewpoints were then and how much we still need to change.
Why you dishonor the true man what you call the black man? Why are you afraid to tell his important to this new world? How much of them really lost their lives? Hmm?
Amazing footage of Quebec pre- Quiet Revolution.
OMG. Ha, The Catholic Church in Quebec, so much for respecting that institution.
In a few years with what’s coming, you’ll thank God for that institution.
Merci
In fact Voyageurs came from Nouvelle France ....
Really?
Not exactly! The voyageurs came after 1763 and the British conquest. Before, they were Coureurs des Bois. Geopolitics!
Plus precisement du Canada. La Nouvelle-France c,est la Louisiane, l,Acadie , le Canada et Terre-Neuve.

This Film was produced some 70 odd years ago.... so what do you expect?
Things have changed a lot since then
Yes I agree things have changed a lot but we also must acknowledge how far we still must go. That's what I was communicating.
Lol. Cry harder.
Say what you want the average Canadian was way better off back then. That's a fact
Not to bad of a video considering it's telling a story of Quebec and was made by a bunch of English people 🤔🤫😂🤣
I don't care new France is my favorite country and they have the best national anthem Quebec 🤭🤔❤️🇲🇫
the already colonized indian chief praying to the whitemans created god...what a sad image...

It’s been a year since the post. Can you please repost in your (hopefully) improved English?
@@shyF0x Canadiens Francais.
@@shyF0x Your so astute!
If there is a true man then i think its not those that submitted to another type of man that are the truer
this was made sometime in the 30's when we were ALL ignorant
How old are you?
It's much later than the 1930s. Based on the cars seen in the video, it's from the early 1950s, I would guess around 1952.
It's worse these days 🤭
If you look closely the cars , it was filmed between 1949 and 1952
