For your information, on the NTSC versions of Gran Turismo 3, there's the following: F090/S (1990 McLaren-Honda MP4/5B) F094/H (1994 Williams FW16 driven by Damon Hill) F094/S (Same as above, except driven by Ayrton Senna) F686/M (1986 Williams FW11) F687/S (1987 Lotus 99T) F688/S (1988 McLaren MP4/4)
Ness in Pajamas I got the F094/S, Fastest Car in the game, F090/S, Easiest to drive, F686/M, Missile in a straight line, like, ridiculously fast, and the F688/S, just a better F090/S
And the Polyphony001 is the F094/S (Senna's Williams) and the Polyphony002 is the F688/S (McLaren MP4/4). And someone has already made the Camel livery from the 99T on the F1500.
I remember hitting low 1.05.3s at Tokyo R246, in Sennas 94 F1. Sub 50 second laps became normal at Midfield, sub 55 sec laps at Laguna Seca. This one feels like a mix between Mansells 686 and Hills 94.
Yeah it might happen considering that this F1 has A at the end of its name, so maybe a B,C,D etc... F1s will be released, and will be inspired by famous F1 cars
CosmicOwl100 not only that look at the trophy list. It hints at f1 race victories. Unless that's a metaphor for something idk. But what's confusing is people have earned the trophy still. So maybe it's referring to sport mode fia races. Idk.
The Human Rat ah, its been seen you dont watch formula 1 nowadays... last year, almost all track records were beaten by almost half a second... Todays formula 1 are a lot faster than the ones before...
To be a little more fair to Polyphony about the handling of this car, if you read the description it says that this in not and old car, is a new car inspired in 80-90's F1 style
::: HammerStudiosGaming ::: Nonono I mean, judging by the car's description, the car is built with new technology that we have today, but the style, and only the style is based on old F1 cars
If that is the case, whoever made that decision has no concept of how motorsport physics work, since you cannot get today's performance out of a classic Grand Prix aero design, regardless of suspension, brakes etc. I'm all for theoretical performance concepts, like the 2X or X1, but if it crosses the border of insulting real world physics, then it makes about as much sense as the nineteen gears in every Fast & Furious cars' gearbox.
::: HammerStudiosGaming ::: I think what he means by that has more to do with the tires fitted to this car, which gives them a shitload of grip compared to the old 80s ones
Good to know this is Senna his Lotus car. Will look for the appropriate livery and then drive it in the gt league. Hopefully in time there will be more real tracks added so we can formula one on gt sport. ☺
Aha! Thanks for using my livery, if it is actually mine... Each time I look at it, I get confused. :D Just like "wait, is that mine, it is isn't it? Or is it?"
From my perspective, as a clutch/wheel user and Asetto Corsa, the power delivery on this car is odd. When tuning for longer gears, especially with longer setups, the car has insane about of lag. When exiting a corner, tapping the clutch spools up your turbo, and you can have insane accelartion that rivals just about anything. I frankly love the handling, It's brutally fast and can give you a good workout. It's fun, easy to get into, and to it simply, *fast*. The skill cap is limitless, but the skill curve is very high near the beginning. It's a very enjoyable car, even if it is easy to drive with all the assists off.
I was expecting the Rocket too. This car at least makes sense for Group X. Though I wish we got a whole category of fictional formula cars. We could have different cars representing different F1 eras. This car represents the 80s, the Formula GT seems to represent the late 90s, and maybe we could have a 2010s car with KERS.
I suppose you’d have to review it first, but. A tuning setup vid on the 2017 Alpine A110 would be awesome. It’s very twitchy and loose. Thanks for all the great content.
Dear PD, stop adding more lonely race cars and then stuffing them into Group X with the VGTs! If you're going to do that, then focus on one class of car and actually add that class in the game! Give us a vintage prototype class for the 330 P4 and Jaguar XJ13, along with a few of the other cars they'd have raced against in real life, just as an example. Ticks me off so much when games do that. Oh, and stop adding more road cars unless you're going to either A. give us back a real engine tuning system as opposed to power & weight sliders or B. give us Group 4/3/B versions of them.
Ya kind of takes the fun out of the game by making this group x. I would love to race this against some group one cars but theres no way to do it as far as I know...
Well, that wouldn't really make much sense as Group 1 is closed-wheel prototypes and appears equivalent to LMP1 with a much larger roster. This car, to fit in with this game, would need a 1985* F1 class set up and other cars from that year added, but I think we both know that's not going to happen because 1. Codemasters has an exclusive license to video game portrayals of multiple-make F1 racing and 2. they probably wouldn't bother anyway. I wanted to include a range of years so the class could be larger, but even back in those days F1 had different rules every year. 1984's rules apparently allowed larger wings than 1985's, while in 1986 they banned NA engines outright and reduced the maximum fuel load cars could carry, so there is no real way to have a reasonably fair fight between cars of different years.
One can only dream... I wish these companies would license to more than one game at a time. They would surely generate more fan interest and revenue in the long run... Ferrari is doing it right, at least.
Maybe there would be another F1500T coming up, something like... F1500T-N (aka Williams FW11, or known by GT3 players outside Europe as F686/M) or F1500T-S (aka Mclaren MP4/4 or F688/S/Polyphony002)
There are plenty of errors on it, since the logos aren't svg replicas either. But its close enough since no one else has done it yet, so I appreciate the fan making it for me as I don't have much free time for it
Well yep, neither side of the argument was a winner (so no one gets a Chicken Dinner), but yet its kinda better. I won this in the daily AND I've got two of those F687 liveries done today (the Yellow 12, which was the first one I had and the Red 11). As for if I'll be pleased or not, well I drive with a Wheel as well as enjoy PCARS 2 and I love the hell out of it. Yeah its not the monster the 97T was in GT6 (Many retries were had in the Senna challenge) but at the same time, that doesn't bother me. If anything, I kinda think of it as a modern version of the F687 and given how GT League is in itself a throwback to the GT Series of old, that pleases me.
Did they rebalance this car because it spins up everywhere for me to the extent I have to await until the car is straight before applying the throttle, even when using 1 / 2 TC where I can run a Super GT or an F1 car on 0 and apply throttle early coming out of corners. Am I missing a good setup?
Having trouble with lots of wheel spin at the top end of the power band... I end up shifting early to avoid getting squirrelly and feathering the throttle around corners. Currently working on the F1500 championship race in the Professional Campaign mode... this is the first class I have had a lot of trouble with. The car is so different from anything else in the game. Extremely finicky. Not sure if they updated the car characteristics. I barely remember the F1 style cars in GT3 but I thought those were easier than this car
it's a benetton b186 with the bmw 4 cylinder senna drove a 98t lotus powered by reanault's infamous v6 the bmw engine was more powerful and the ingame turbo response is way too quick

Thank god you were wrong on the last car on that dark picture, thinking it was a kind of light weight car! This one is A LOT COOLER! Thanks POLYPHONY DIGITAL/GRAN TURISMO! ✌ They need to had more F1 type of cars with the different engines: V6, V8, V10, V12! Different styles from 80's, 90's, 2000's and today! 👍
Cars in GT Sport are easy to handle which makes them kind of unrealistic, & when I say easy I mean group 1 cars which tend to have loads & loads of grip on GTS & have some understeer on GT6. When it comes to physics, GTS seems a bit off. Even GT3 cars handle different than what they used to on GT6. You really can't tell which one is realistic until you drive a race car yourself, & we all know this thing won't happen to any of us which is, at the same time, disappointing, knowing that this shouldn't be, because you need specific training & years of practice to perfect driving a race car, & that no one would actually think of becoming a racing driver unless they're are very keen on doing & achieving it. Summing up all the stuff I mentioned in a simple phrase: Play racing games for fun, because we don't know whether race car physics in these games are spot on or not.
Refueling Expert it’s hard to tell for me, I have driven open wheel Skippy cars (detuned neon engine & street tyres) back in 2007 & they were much faster than most road cars today (around corners). The amount of grip they had was life threatening level type of scary (which is the only way you can bring out the potential with open wheel cars), I was learning quick, but money runs out for this.
Quick question for anyone, ive bought a ds4 v2 controller to replace my old v1 and im having issues with the triggers. It seems like the last 10% of the triggers movement controls all of the throttle/brake with the rest doing nothing. Does anyone else have this issue?
They took a classic Formula design and slightly modernized it, Corrupted Disc, in my opinion, so that's not bad, but dumping it in group X was bad, needs it's own class like other user comments have shown
You missed a thing (or just didn't mention it...?) For some reason the Racing Super Soft tyres don't work well with this car. They are majorly lacking grip (Sports Soft tyres are grippier...) and it results in the car understeering massively. So at the moment Racing Soft tyres (which I saw you were using though) seem to be the best tyres for it. If you didn't notice this before, go test it out, it's really weird. You can even see the massive drop in performance in the stats of the car (acceleration, braking, cornering,...)
Well, one make racing with this cars must be mad fun, I believe they should Adda a Fórmula Ford Ecoboost and a Fórmula Ford Duratec (for classy boys and for sophisticated boys) Forza already has the first one. Btw #SaveGroupX
Lotus (And I think their old parent company Proton too) were bought out by Geely (Who also own Volvo), which seems to have left Lotus in licensing limbo or something at least for now.
I would never be above racing hard with racing cars, the same I'm never above sport hard or even comfort soft with non tunned road cars. We may admit GT lacks some realism in car behavior. And using super sticky tires wont help to feel the game much realistic. I'm all about graphics and if it wasn't for that and that no racing game can touch GT graphics for the moment I would have change to other racing games. Don't get me wrong I'm addicted to it. It's very fun but it has it's flaws.
Montrell Crowder it doesn't steer at all compared to the 97t in gt6. It feels less forgiving to me for that reason. Like its steering response is far less. Not as twitchy and alert as the 97t was.
RaZoR Hmmm. Didnt know that, i actually never played gt6 and driven the 97t but if you say the f1500 is less responsive ill take your word for it. I personally feel it doesnt feel terribly twitchy, at least at lower speeds, due to the aformentioned understeer that Craig spoke of. I feel as though being abit more daring in the corners in terms of entry speed can yield more desireable results.
Polyphony Digital should just add more classes for cars like this one. Example: Gr.F.
Press F. To pay respects
Wouldn't work though. Gr.X one make works more because the various F1 cars are differently tuned

Polyphony needs to give us one make races with this car in sport mode
PipeBomb416 needs to be locked at a level like 30 or so in sport mode.
They should add a F Grade (F for formula). It would be fitting, if they added more formula cars.
The Human Rat Yeah, you're right. But it also doesn't make sense to put this on Gr. X.

Turn tc off then it won’t be easy and so stable to drive.
It is off, as you can see from the in-race HUD
I would never be above racing hard with racing cars, the same I'm never above sport hard or even comfort soft with non tunned road cars. We may admit GT lacks some realism in car behavior. And using super sticky tires wont help to feel the game much realistic.
I'm all about graphics and if it wasn't for that and that no racing game can touch GT graphics for the moment I would have change to other racing games. Don't get me wrong I'm addicted to it. It's very fun but it has it's flaws.
Looks more like a Benetton B186
That's because the livery is a B186...
Oh makes sense xD
Nice but please choose another track, this one is not good for replays, you cannot see the car details...pick up Interlagos for example...cheers!
Roger Takey with variable view he could
Oh well, that's the track I chose, lol
this car is totaly wierd only car i have driven thats slowest on rss tyres or am i going bonkers
Yeah noticed very quickly how was much too easy to drive, shame
Does anyone else struggle with insane understeer with this car?
Craig Bevan At low speeds, yes. I find you have to drive faster to turn in more, which is kind of a deviation from what you usually do for most cars.
With Racing Super soft tyres, but not with soft tyres. I don't know why but the Steering is easier and better with soft tyres.
Even with racing hards I find it sluggish to turn.
All I know is RIP controllers !
Brosyden I don't have a problem driving it with a controller.
this car is perfect with control once you fine tune everything, i set a 1:39.1 around mount panorama last night in it with a controller :)
I can't buy this car in brand central.
Then you either haven't updated the game, or are looking in the wrong place
This is a worst car in the list, bad and hard to drive.
