Saw GLOW interview but as good as Carol's vids are urs was SO much more revealing. All that clever/stow-away counter space is genius. Not only saved this vid in a playlist that I will use as instruction for my own build (hopefully soon) but also downloaded it directly into phone's memory so I can watch off line.) THK U!!
We had a wooden box with a 5 gallon bucket and a toilet seat on top. All we did was throw sawdust on it (combined waste, not separated liked yours) and no smell!
GLOW fan and now Nathan and Lexy fan too. Enjoyed getting to know Nathan more on Carol’s live chat. Looking forward to getting to know Lexy in the future.
Amazing build You both are awesome You're build is beautiful I love the repurposed materials Hard to belive that you never did anything like this before. I had to rewatch to make sure I heard that correctly. I'm blown away. Keep on keeping on Safe travels 😊🙏🌍 Enjoy your travels Great video as well
Dang! What a beautiful build, I felt like I was in an old european cottage. All the different wood creates such a calming, enticing, I just want to be in there sipping a delicious coffee pondering the wonders of the world feeling. Cheers!
I just saw your interview and van tour on GLOW. Your van build looks great! Congrats on your new channel. Y'all have a great quality camera! Its so crisp and clear. I like the video edits you did. Well done! I look forward to seeing what y'all share.
Great job and insider tips for van life! Loved seeing you guys on the other side of the camera…amazing on camera chemistry together. When you need a break from van life we’ve got a space for you to come crash ☀️ Much love!
love the build, very pretty but also practical, it actually has a vibe rather than most other builds that are bland and boring. i do have questions tho. -is there no propane heater? does the van never get cold? -why not add a solar shower on the roof? u said you dont have a shower and dont use that much water and you already have a pump installed? -why not make a spice rack out of wood while u were at it? -why not add low hanging fairy lights over the bed instead of the puck liights u dont like? -why not recess space at the floor and head panels to have a back cushion while you sit, so you dont have to hide the 3d cushion away under the seat, it will just have its own cubby. -why did you make angled cabinets for folding up clothes instead of having 2 flat full length closets to hang ur clothes and leave the folded up clothes at the bottom on a shelf? it would also get rid of the angled hump blocking the hallway and show off more space for the shoe drawer. regardless, great stuff. 9/10 imo, also bro is caked up he should be proud.
Thank you for the kind words and thoughtful ideas! - We do have a portable buddy heater but we rarely use it as the van stays fairly warm inside if we are in it, especially if we do any cooking. All that wood absorbs and holds heat really well. - We've considered a solar shower, but never got around to doing it. Maybe soon! Planet Fitness has sufficed so far. - In hindsight building our own spice rack would have been worth the effort. At the time we thought a prefabricated rack would be just as well. We were wrong! - We actually do have fairy lights in the back windows! Furthermore, the array of 4 puck lights in a square create much more spread, so the bedroom/work area doesn't suffer nearly as much from those unpleasant overhead shadows. That said, we may just implement your idea, thanks! - Since making this video, we have replaced our mattress configuration with one that achieves your point in effect! We no longer store the cushions but are able to use them as back cushions - a huge improvement. - Closet shape: we did this mostly for the effect on the space. We like that it protrudes just beyond the counter, creating a full divide between the spaces, but angles inwards to open up that large window so the two spaces don't feel totally blocked from each other. In the future we would like to have space for hanging clothes to avoid all the wrinkles, but we do like how much we are able to shove in there 😆
@@NathanandLexy thanks for the answers ! i hope u can make ur build perfect to how u want it over time. sorry i picked ur brain so much, i totally forgot about feng shui and go full practicality. i respect it
i’m looking to build out a van over the next year or so and getting some inspiration for more cozy spaces so of course the algorithm did its thing and led me to your video. Your van is beautiful! I love how you thought through so many of the storage spaces but also, put so much character into the van. do you mind sharing what type of skylight you have over the bed? That’s one of the biggest ones I’ve seen and it’s something I am looking to do.
Hey! We built the skylight DIY, precisely because we wanted a big one that matched our aesthetic. I'll link the video we based our skylight build on. It has leaked on us, so I recommend investigating newer diy methods. But we don't regret it at all. Love how big this thing is. (And cheap to make!) th-cam.com/video/mqW5lHAr-YM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bWsyYw1IeMTwbw5M
Some type of elevator bed or a Murphy bed might eliminate the issues you have with the bed setup. I don't think storing your comforter and pillows on top of your solar battery setup is a safe or wise idea because the battery could cause a fire and the bedding would cause it to spread quickly. There is a guy who has built 4 vans so far and his setup for the back of the van is similar to yours and he has an elevator bed and he has videos on how he built out his vans. He was on a channel that has NewJersey in the title and they share tours of different vans and buses. I will try to find the link to his video.
Hey beautiful souls… I want to subscribe bc you seem so awesome and your van is THE BEST ! But you haven’t posted for over 6 months so not sure if you are active over here anymore…
Hi Rachel! Thank you so much for your kind words. We have been inactive on TH-cam mostly because we had a job that kept us grounded in South Carolina for several months so there wasn't much van travel. However, we have just begun a big overseas adventure and are currently in Vietnam with plans to travel to Thailand, Greece and possibly Morocco - an adventure we've been dreaming of since we met! Your really kind comment comes at a synchronous time - we're currently discussing what sort of videos we'd like to post, since we aren't in the van for this particular adventure. We might begin posting again as soon as the end of this month! No pressure to subscribe in any case - thank you so much for checking out our van tour!
We're doing a van build and want to clad a lot of it in pallet wood, but are worried it's going to make it way over weight.. did you have that problem?
Not as far as I can tell! My understanding is that Plywood is where most of the weight comes from in most builds. We had to get the van weighed to make sure we weren't over capacity and we were well under.
Beautiful build! For ladies 🚽 needs, look for a urine diverter/separator. I use one in my bus and it works great with the composting system. I made a vid on how I did it on my channel if you are interested. ✌🏼🚐✨✨
I love this kind of decoration, feels like a wooden cabin in the middle of nowhere. 😊
A dwelling of labor of love! Beautiful build! Nathan and Lexy!
I could never do that bathroom situation with another person. I love my husband, but both of us are shy poopers lol.
I deleted my comment accidentally, thinking it was a notification. Love this build❤❤❤
Amazing! Love how you recycled the wood!!
Subscribe from Glorious Life on Wheels . Enjoyed your live with Carol. Hope you are feeling better Lexy
Lexy is on the mend! Thank you!
trelino composting toilets are getting rave reviews. still around $350 but seem to be worth it
Thank you for the rec! We’ll definitely check it out.

Watching this several times 😊
So beautiful and I loved Walden too!
Two of the absolute best humans I know! Loved this and love you both so so much
Beautiful van build by an amazing couple !
Nice video, had this been a thing when I was young I would have done the same thing. BTW, I'm friends with your grandma Georgia :-)
Lexy, you need to be up front more. Nathan is hamming it up a bit to much. Cheers
I just love this van it has lots of personality

Some of these ideas I may copy in my build…eventually.
Beautyfull work and video! thank you for sharing and good roads!

Thank you so much! We feel strongly that if we were able to build this, anyone can!

Ah yet another van tour. Cute. Should maybe start off by mentioning WHAT SIZE VAN YOU HAVE?! Long ,short medium roof high…
Fair enough! It's the 140wb hightop 06 T1n sprinter. Thank you for the somewhat-friendly feedback. 😆
Wonderfully Creative but why the obnoxious background music???
Hey guys, excellent job!! I'm guessing the $10K was the cost of the renovation. How much was the van?

@NathanandLexy ah that's good! Is your van 3.5 tonne?
cool but we dont need to see inside every drawer, rather hear some stories of travels if there are any
