This is the proper way to test cars! Porsche probably has exactly the same testing regime. Very impressed with car testing in the 80s.

The F-Body Trans Am was actually better in handling, skidpad test, slalom test, than the Porsche 944 wich was considered a benchmark in its class.

At 1:04 I was thinking hey it's the Hardy Boy Parker Stevenson lol. But you're absolutely right, it's legendary stunt co-ordinator Jack Gill at the wheel.
yea Jack Gill plays in alot of episdoes of Knight Rider
He also played the minor character of Dugan in Season One's "Inside Out". Coincidentally, his character was a driver in that episode too!🙂
3:36 Love how this scene features a reprise of the score from "Junk Yard Dog", which was right before this episode.
Not to mention KITT is quite self-aware in this episode and constantly questioning his worth, most likely due to his traumatic experience in that very same episode!

I love the machine guns, and the rotating rocket launcher, on that armored personnel carrier.
Actually, it's re-stoked images from "Mouth of a snake" episode: it's the same launcher.

For a while there were no new clips being shown but glad to see they have resumed. Even if once in a while but I hope it picks up in frequency
I know Jack Gill did most of the stunts but I wonder to this day how much of the driving Hasselhoff did. He has stated several times in interviews that he was trained to do some basic stunts with the car.
i know when david first started, when david first drove KITT he got out of the car without putting the car in park and it almost crash into something, Glen said no more lol. so i dont think he drove no more after that one time.

@@morganrussman at the beginning i think after the trans am almost hit something Glen A Larson put a stop to it, I mean come on why would David want to drive, he made millions, he could just pay someone to drive him places! David was 28 when he started, but he was 30 when knight rider got aired.

Automatics don't always shift at the right times when you're stunting like this.
You can revmatch and shift on an automatic transmission. Ive seen it done before.

I always a huge fan of knight rider shows. I can't wait to come to my antenna tv cw show. I think I really like his show and his cool car is really awesome ever. I think I am very excited to c it on my TV antenna tv cw show. I used to watch it on direct tv but now I don't c it anymore. I really enjoyed every moment of it. It is the best show I ever seen. It really great ever very amazing show I really like the most very interesting and exciting show ever. It really terrific character Michael knight is my favorite character in this show is really awesome.

Yeah, I think you're right. Michael also wears it in Season 2 "A Knight in Shining Armor". Though that was mainly to match a bit of footage they reused from "Chariot of Gold".
I don't really like it.

Why the hell is he driving KITT like it is a stick shift?
You can manually shift with automatics like that. this is the order.

D rive -normal driving or Overdrive then 3 -Drive
2 -Second
1 -First
that's the shift gate pattern. by selecting, the trans stays in gear until you up shift from 1 to 2, or 2 to drive.
that's shifting when you want. All older automatic cars were like this either in the center of the floor or on the steering column

To me it looks a tuned up exemplar, it shows too much torque at 8:02 8:07 & 8:11 8:14 when it goes in oversteering on the asphalt, I remember the basic F-Body 82' Trans Am had 144 hp only but I don't know how much torque had aniway looks too much for an early 80's N/A
There was one "hot rodded" stunt car with a pumped up 350 V8 (probably making about 275 horses -- which was a lot for the 1980's) for burnouts. Almost all the other KITT's only had the anemic 5.0 liter.
