He was playing on a healed broken ankle. Trouba said himself the ankle was not broken in the playoffs.
Trouba is one of the FEW guys who brought it every night. IMO, the guy was hurt and even his hitting stopped somewhere half way thru the Carolina series. I think there are so many other weak links that caused the failure. NOT scoring on the PP. Who's to blame for that? When Goodrow scores more goals than Panarin, Mika, and anyone not named Laffy or Trochek (Krieder hat trick accounted for half his goals), we have major problem. Fox looked terrible on PP and defense in general. Lindgren tried to be physical but not with FL. Same for Schneider, noone was physical against FL. Miller became invisible. LOTS of blame to go around. Trading Trouba fixes nothing but salary cap. But also creates another hole to be filled. By WHO? top tier Dman will get similar money.
Players shouldn't play hurt or if they're not 100%

There is nothing wrong with Truba. One guy doesn't make all the difference. It's just a nature of entire current group that didn't match play off hockey style requirements at very top level.
CORRECT, but he seems to be the guy to make the (WORST) mistake at the worst time... he need to go!
Let's say he is not on the roster anymore. How does it help thevteam to be more creative and physical offensively? That's the area where Rangers were outplayed by Florida. Truba absence won't help to change it.
Offense comes from Defense. Addition by subtraction. We have the best goaltender in the world. Imagine if we never gave up any goals with an actual good puck moving defenseman who doesn't just try to lob the puck out of the zone as though it were a grenade? We know what this looks like with Adam Fox and to a lesser degree Miller and Schnieder. The fact is we signed Trouba when he actually could hit the net offensively. Since then, he arrived at the Rangers and has been truly awful.
He didn’t help in game 6 against Tampa giving the puck away on blueline and Tampa came in scored and that was the end.
Same thing for giving up first goal for Panthers by leaving puck carrier an tried to hit Rodriguez giving up that goal.. he is horrible in the playoffs
When does the blame lay at Laviolette's feet ? Knowing 3 Dmen, Trouba , Fox, Lindgren were hurt why the hell didnt he dress a 7th Dman ( Jones)?

Anybody realise Trouba had more Penalty Minutes per game than Rempe had ice time?
How about Drury spending 8 draft picks and not retaining anybody he traded for. Mikkola at 2.5 looked a hell of alot better than Miller @4.5 !

I don't see the Rangers making big changes due to cap issues. The playoff run made the season financially successful. Of course, they want a Cup but sustaining this level makes Dolan happy and allows Drury to keep his job.
Great Video. I'm hearing all of these conflicting reports, but, I think that he's got to go due to Salary Cap Issues. I'd like it if you would all give your views. I think he's good & like him, if he were getting 3rd Pair Money & Minutes.
Why on earth would a team in a rebuild be interested in a guy like Trouba? lol So they can win a few more games and end up out of lottery contention? Give me a break. San Jose has a lot of good your talent in the pipeline, and a lot of good draft picks. They have their 3 salary retention slots filled with Karlsson, Brent Burns, and Tomas Hertl. They are not taking on a player like Trouba unless they could later deal him at the deadline, retain some salary, and add some picks or prospects, so that negates San Jose's interest!
I think the big problem is that they overplayed him when he was making mistakes and not 100% in the playoffs. Should have played Jones and others who could have brought some energy and fresh legs. Add in his high salary and what we could get for that much now and his contract doesnt look great.
So allowing him to play on a broken ankle is negligible by the organization. But yet he still managed to launch himself like Goldberg at Necas in the first rd. Sadly a healthy Jones is lying in wait…
Think it’s more we need to fill the top line RW and trouba is 8mil for 3rd line D… move him Schneider moves up to second D you can’t be paying a 3rd line D 8 mil when you have a huge hole at RW. Mika and Kreider been playing shorthanded 5 v5 for years now and ppl love to blame them and say they are only pp guys. But they score on the pp when they finally are at even or better odds. They also score 4v4 and 3 on 3. My point is Mika is not Crosby where you can play Kunitz on first line and everything will be ok. He is a first liner that will be great though if he had an actual line. Trouba stops that from happening. Or goodrow.
If, as many are saying Brady Tkachuk & Jacob Trouba Trade would be, unless anything isn't so, what I'm being told, even, in Salary & The Ottawa Senators are cool with an exchange that is even, it'd be cool with me, as A Rangers Fan, especially the fact that we have what they're needing & Vice Versa. I know the game has changed since ‘ 94 but look at all the physical players that Keenan had that year if we just had a 2/3 players like buek, graves, Kypreos, wells etc…. ! Bottom line we have to get more grittier and little more tougher! Brady Tkachuk would be a start!LGR!!

If he doesn’t get traded, at the very least take that “C” right off his uniform. Clearly the pressure of being the captain is too much for him to handle. That’s not his role. I’d rather them just have no captain.

Trouba as a captain he was not a consistent player he panics when he handles the puck yes he made hits, yes many were illegal and what ever he did off the ice is asked by the organization but as fans we care what's on the ice not his personal life. I would not miss him at all. It's time for a big change because what Drury has right now is not working out.
Trouba sucks …. His play against the Panthers says it all. He was caught out of position constantly and in the last game was seen taking the player without the puck against the boards when he should have taken the puck carrier like a defenseman is supposed to do. Igor should have skated over to Trouba and ripped that C off his sweater. I almost forgot to mention the name tag that was placed inside the penalty box with Jacob on it. Didn’t he break a record for the number of stupid penalties in one series by a player?

As of July 1st he has a Mod-NTC 12 team no trade list, So he can be traded to 19 teams without his permission.

Someone on another thread said that Kreider came out and said he did not want to be captain. I didn't see that, and he sure acts like the captain being the guy who is last off the ice and high fives(or hugs) everyone as they leave.
They need trade Kreider. He did nothing against 🐈⬛
