We are so fortunate to be born in Singapore because we can proudly claim our citizenship and we no need to be ashame of our place of birth. It just seems kinda concerning that things seemed to happen quite arbitrarily and based on happenstance… Edwin happened to know Max’s aunt, Edwin relying on his own ‘connections’ to get corporate sponsorships, etc. there seems to lack proper organisation within the local industry to develop our talents - it looks like anyone with less connections wouldn’t have made it then. Not taking anything away from Max for all his hard work and maturity but he is indeed in a position of extreme privilege.
