This was wonderful! And ladies she’s right! You can do it . I’m a single mom of one and I was still able to save $20,000, I’m debt free and a homeowner. If you want it, you can get. Excuses are easier than making a way💓

When you tell people that you save over $10K a year a lot of them assumed you live with someone, especially a sibling or parent (assuming that is true) and will say, "oh that's easy to say do when you're in that current situation."
Yeah that is true, however, a lot of people don't actually do that. When people have more disposable income they tend spend it irresponsibly. I know people who were making $30-$40K living with their parents and had no savings or retirement account. They got a car, bought luxury items, etc.
    Discipline is still required.

I know people might view it as over-explaining, but I think it's actually incredibly important for you to acknowledge your foundation.Congratulations on your accomplishment! This is a flawless example of how to navigate privilege, the facilitator in me is saving this clip for a future presentation lol

Privilege isn't always money...I love how you explained privilege as the "tools", the discipline, how it comes natural. Yesss 👏🏽👏🏽 I feel the same. I wasn't privileged to have a bunch, but my dad made sure I was either reading, reading, or reading. My thoughts are different. I move differently because of it.

Really inspiring Aaron, such a great reminder to keep going. Don’t feel any type of way about your inheritance, only feel proud. Although, it is helpful to have a hollistic view of your background, people need to understand that all black people don’t (have) to come from struggle.

I’m almost $100,000 in debt due to my education. 😢 I’ve started a plan to pay it off in the next 5 years. 🙏🏾 My biggest lesson and what I tell people. Do NOT take loans. 💛🌅

I swear this so fucking RAW, and REAL. It really grinds my gears when the children of parent’s who took the necessary steps to give them a foundation to SUCEED don’t give them any sort of acknowledgment or recognition. It’s the sheer entitlement that drives me crazy. It takes nothing away from your success to acknowledge the foundation that was built for you. ESPECIALLY if your creating content devoted to financial literacy. THIS. RIGHT. HERE. It’s a beautiful thing to have parents that care, but it’s so fucking disappointing when kids don’t acknowledge the hard work their parents put in to give kids like you a wonderful future. It’s something to be celebrated!
Thank you for reaching back and sharing this wonderful knowledge, and being as authentic as possible! It means a lot!

Awesome video. Thanks for acknowledging your privilege, and yea you should never feel guilty about that. It's a blessing that most of us wish we had. I started my financial journey 3 years ago and finally got out of consumer and student loan debt last year with the help of books and TH-cam. You are so right, no matter what, it is possible if you decide that's what you really want. Congrats and cheers to you.

I am so proud of you. But I have to say.... pointing out the things you would cut back on if you didn’t live at home is further proving the point that being able to live at home gave you a leg up. It’s ok. You don’t have to apologize for it. Just give your people (mama, daddy, granny... whoever) and extra hug for the love

I’m glad you mentioned privilege, some kids think they are very smart, which I don’t think they are dumb by any means, but literally they just went to better schools, it’s exposure for a lot of things, I went to public school and did well, but I remember when I took the ACT and SAT there was stuff on there from pre calculus and up, if you weren’t in that class by junior year, which it isn’t required, you wouldn’t know how to do the work, and your score wouldn’t be as high, and folks actually take a coarse on how to take these tests, I won the spelling bee in 6th grade and went to the next level and made it past there but I was literally winging it, I didn’t know kids actually prep for these things
