Whats crazy is that the inland impire area had 3 5 star high school qbs at the same time. CJ, DJ, and Bryce. They were playing against each other in high school.
One of the worse thing to have happened to Zach Wilson was having both Saleh and Lafleur who were as green and inexperienced as he was, to be his coaches during his fragile launch in the NFL. Zach Wilson was partly his own problem; though it’s easy to go for the low hanging fruit of blaming him mostly for his early 22 games NFL failures, I believe that bringing him in a Jets team with head coaches that were clueless about how to develop him was to me, the bigger problem that might have destroyed his trajectory.
There’s probably also the realization that one of your competitors is going to draft this guy, so you might as well take a moment to get to know him a little bit now so you know what you’re up against later.
@@jacobkemp7050 I have heard him say that he has young children at home and loves to be closer to home at this time in their lives. He doesn't want to be a pro coach at this time. He likes what he does
Former D1 and NFL QB. Has been a private QB coach for about a decade and coach’s QB’s in many different age groups. Has worked with a bunch of guy’s currently in the NFL
Wow you’ve never heard of him huh? Well you probably wouldn’t have unless you’re a client and I hazard a guess you are not lol or plugged in with one of the organizations that Beck guru’s for then…….
@@c.j.deyoungiii2704 why? Like I said you’re not a client or potential client so why would you want to know his credentials are? I believe he was a QB drafted by the Dolphins for a number of unimpressive years. The fact he makes a living as a QB guru probably means he knows what he’s doing.
Anyone else find it weird how these QB "gurus" are all former busts? Maybe I'm not being fair, maybe they always had a brilliant understanding of how to play the position but weren't physically gifted enough. Idk just wondering why you never have a former successful QB doing this.
I'm a Dolphins fan. We drafted him. Like you, amazing that a bust is now labeled a guru.. It boils down to how well you can B.S. If you can speak intelligently and have a bit of salesman/conman in you, you're gonna get paid. Beck couldn't play at the NFL level. I turned this off 5 mins in. Didn't fool me. Same reason some many regular Joes are now making a living doing podcasts 😂, they have the ability to B.S.
The best shooting coaches for the NBA are guys who weren’t physically gifted enough to play at a high level. Understanding the game and the mechanics of the position are most important for this type of job. I don’t think Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen would make good QB coaches. “Oh, when you get pressured, just avoid these giant men, and swing your arm to make an off balance throw 50 yards down the field perfectly to a covered receiver. It’s not that hard.” You usually want your coach to be someone that had to work even harder to get there, because he had none of the physical tools.
You think Beck and Palmer can't teach proper technique and mental approach? So many college QB's fundamentals are poor, what does that say about college QB coaches? Style means a lot. JC Barrett could be argued as Ohio State's best QB ever. His running skills didn't transfer to the NFL at the time. He tried for years to make it as a player and is now a coach.
This guy is a talker...So, the Jets brought him in to mentor Zach Wilson? The Jets should ask for their money back. Love how a guy who has thrown for less than 1500 yards over 6 years is a QB Guru...
Can we get this guy the week after the draft to talk about fits?
Whats crazy is that the inland impire area had 3 5 star high school qbs at the same time. CJ, DJ, and Bryce. They were playing against each other in high school.
I could listen to John Beck all day.
You’re lame!
Sign me up for QB talk anytime! Loved this
Do any of these tv personalities realize that Gardner Minshew is in Indy now, and he’s literally been training with Anthony Richardson this offseason?
John Beck looks like if Pat McAfee and Joel Klatt had a kid 😂
Maybe they did 🤔
False. Any spawn of Pat McAffee wouldn't wear anything with long sleeves.

Maybe he'll succeed somewhere else?
Yeah I agree coaching is absolutely huge. You'd have to wonder if with a better organization he would possibly excel with his abilities
He’s still young. Has a long way to go
@@renegade5368the NFL doesn't give many chances. Zack Wilson probably will be out of the league in a year.
@@Talesofaweedsmoker I would take that bet! He'll last at least five years.
I remember John When he played for BYU.
18:08 "Not showing their cards" . That's exactly the "poker face" mentality in the NFL. Basically, you're sitting around a poker table and playing.
Great guest!!
I feel teams talk to these players they won't have a chance to draft to get to know them if they ever come available in free agency.
That certainly happens. Definitely heard GMs talk about that.

Yeah, you learn about the guys in the most important position
Rich you have to bring him back
Please dont
NS will be extremely successful post NFL, a truly brilliant and articulate human being.
How is John Beck not an NFL QB coach?
Probably makes way more money running his own business and coaching pros and top college talent. Guarantee he has several standing offers.

Most top college QBs are over-valued---and one only has to look at all the first-round busts of the last 10 years to prove the point.

Agree, but it’s worth noting successful NFL QBs seek out these “gurus” during the off-season. That lends some credibility imo
