    only thing that bothers me is tha 3d part, i mean its nice to see it in after effects, but it doesnt outweigh the MUCH better results you would get with traditional 3d software (even free ones like blender) if you load in the sequence there and export the composit to your NLE. i mean there is no bounced lighting no hdr lightsource to integrate the models into the scene, it just looks strange.
    otherwise great video, and i guess it is a bit intimidating to get your hands on 3d software if you just want to make a short movie so it is kinda ok

    • @apexmedia2089
      @apexmedia2089 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It's amazing to see the possibilities but you're right it kinda falls down for me with the 3d objects. They look like clipart drawings. With what you call a traditional 3d software, would you get better looking 3d objects? Or could you still use AE but just make it look realistic by spending more money on the 3D objects? That might be easier than learning real 3d software. Thanks. Good job on your videos, Studio Binder.

    • @Mundm28
      @Mundm28 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@apexmedia2089 with 3d software there is not necessarily a difference in the models, you can use the same ones they bought online(they were made wirh traditional 3d packages in the first place). what makes a difference is the way it is rendered. they mentioned it is all realtime, which means it is rendered like a Computer game with a process called rasterization which usually means you dont have indirect lighting and all calculations regarding material and lightinf are just approximated for the sake of speed. Most 3d softwares use monte carlo raytracers nowadays that simulate individual lightrays and stuff in a fashion that simulates how real light works, but takes minutes-hours to calculate each individual frame(if you get crazy with the complexity of your scene there is really no limit upwards), because each light ray is bounced of surfaces multiple times and creates new scattered lightrays etc. also 3d packages have a LOT more settings to finetune your virtual image(which of course makes them look cluttered and complicated). but i guess if they would add an option for non-realtime rendering into the addon perhaps by utilizing a standalone 3rd party raytracer behind the scenes you could enhance the results without complicating the process for the user too much.

    This was literally so good! The main thing that pulled it together though was Element 3D. The VFX people would have coloured the objects flying around, or at least re-lit them so that they blended in with the background lighting, particularly the white cups and saucers.
