Hesitation - that’s a good point.
I don't know if others already knew this way of summarizing Japanese affection towards Chopin, but this was an Epiphany to me. To be able to respond in just one word, so correctly, shows how matured she is.

best performance of this year. beyond words. piano heaven!!! already after stage one i felt , the idea of winning or loosing doesnt matter any more. it seems hilarious. she has mastered the art and played effort and flawless with everything we can whish for . full range of dynamics beautiful color in toneproduction poetic sensitivity also energy and fire it moved my heart deeply and i admire this extraordinary sensitivity ,also deep understanding in the presentation of chopin.! just read the score :) . arrigato aimi . to make us dream .
Aimi mentioned something very significant here which is the transcending feeling of the composer’s intent through a knowing deep within as she reads the score and feels the music within it. Then the practice polishes the diamond, and from the heart, comes the shine of its brilliance. Music is a language which is expressed through the heart and Aimi Kobayashi expresses this eloquently!
She really has a wonderful performance that can express the deep emotions of Chopin's heart more faithfully than anyone else.

She is mature and disciplined. Eva Gevorgyan has less of this but more flair. Both are likely to be in the finals.
