Avi and Nick another great and timely topic. Based upon my long career I would agree with both of you. Dont risk your life or the lives of people around you for a material object. Let it go and you will figure it out later. Enjoy your timepieces and be stay safe out there.

You should have Cameron on to show the “sensory overload watch stealing trick” popularized by David Blaine, which is basically the way the RMs were stolen.
Also, you wouldn’t be screwed if you lost the key of the clasp lock. You can just remove a link or the whole clasp with with the same tool. 😉

    The LB rabbit hole:
Start by getting random watch shorts, getting excited about deals. Clicking on Roman Sharf, binge watch Grey Market in 2 weeks. End up here after all the content is gone 🤷‍♂️
Keep it up guys, great value add in my life! Made me step my own business up so I can finally get the Rolex I always wanted

12:08 Tamperproof screws. You can buy an aftermarket tool for every tamperproof screw that's been introduced in the computer market. They are only tamperproof until someone figures out how to manufacture the tool. About 6 hours. 😁

To your question "what's the point of owning luxury goods if you're not wearing them", idk sickness or something I sit with my loupe and I spent way too much time looking at my nos and mint watches. I do the same with loose gems.

I lived in Caracas, Venezuela from 2017 to 2019, back then it was considered the most dangerous city in the world. Our security guy plainly said: "You can wear every watch you want, it does not matter if it's a Rolex or a Casio, you can robbed for all of them. So wear what you want, but be prepared to give it away".
I always said: "If someone tries to rob me, he deserves a decent loot", but no bad boy ever wanted my Pelagos.

I can guarantee you I have a set of handheld cutters that will slice right through those soft bands. Just look at how thieves are doing it they are taking a curved blade on their finger and slicing the band and they grab your watch. Richard mille needs to start using a better material for their flex bands

Don't give away your personal security/safe details online to the world. Glad you are talking about this important issue. Rolex and all top watch makers should definitely invest in watch lock bracelets!! The ultimate solution is to wear a cheaper watch like g shock or whatever!! The western world is becoming more dangerous and more lawless that's another issue!!

For non violent scenarios like Formula 1 the locks seem like a good idea but for normal street robberies the criminals will not hesitate to chop your arm off in many countries. IN the UK machetes are as common as peanut butter and jelly is in the US. No watch is worth losing your hand or life , unfortunately there is no shortage of " people" who have no value for human life whatsoever.

I always wondered the same thing and my guess is a lot of them go to jewelers that ice them out. I don't think Rolex will ever touch those watches so it basically means that they'll never be accounted for.

I find this funny because the fact that you gave up gun rights and everyone thinks it's so great but yet sweden has some of the highest gun crimes there are. Sweden was found to have the 2nd highest gun homicide rate (after Croatia) out of 22 European countries surveyed. So its clearly a dumb idea to give up your rights because as Europe has proven people will just find other ways to hurt others but if you had a gun hidden on your body and it was a common thing then criminals would stop and think twice about what they are doing and if it's worth their life.

First I enjoy these segments,Grey Market Pod... The only reason it wouldn't affect sales is if people are purchasing watches for investment and don't care if they wear it out. That mentality is why prices are so high. These people are for the most part Not real watch people they are just on the hype and trying to make a quick buck. To the detriment of people like myself who's been purchasing and wearing watches for over 40 years.

  • @koolpep

Everyone, just visit Dubai or Singapore to wear watches out in the wild. Safest place to wear your watches, anywhere! My biggest worry here is getting a watch scratched, not snatched. 😊 Also nobody can carry guns, so even there is no anxiety.

If Luxury Bazaar were to campaign against Naked Watch sales they would show us they are really serious about stopping watch theft. Muggers don’t get papers but all original buyers from ADs do and they keep them. Until grey Dealers refuse to buy and sell discounted Naked watches I remain deeply cynical about Grey Dealers who buy and sell them. Similarly with consignment - if liquid grey dealers want your watch they should buy it from you not use it to improve their own cash flow.

I have had two Apple Watches stolen, but never had any of my good watches taken. Yes I am careful where I wear the Rolex, everybody can see you wearing that watch from across the room. So I wear a Panerai or an Omega most of the time, watch nerds know what I am wearing but not the dumbasses who are going to take your watch. All they know is Rolex maybe Patek or AP. The rest will fly under the radar.

society is like a ship, upper deck people and lower deck people.. if the lower deck people get jalous and anoyed by the upper deck people, they will make a hole on the side of the ship to get up there and as result we sink. im not often negatif but we r in the middle of the acopolipse, somebody said the biggest fy to society is to spend on your self a rolex full of diamonds.. best thing is, to make sure everybody likes you...thou, goodshow, some body has to adress this👍

    • @LaurentiusTriarius
      @LaurentiusTriarius ปีที่แล้ว

If we take your analogy the importance is that the upper deck people leave enough lifeboats and provisions so that the lower deck people don't sink the ship?
Some would say it's the captain task to make sure everyone is satisfied to the degree they could be.
But often the people on the upper deck own the ship so politics are just that, politics.
Ultimately everyone has to make their part since we're on the same boat.
That's also why communism might look good in practice. But yeah personal responsibilities aren't promoted in a society that holds your hand to go pee.
