Skill design has improved leaps and bounds in recent patches. Healing Hands, Frost Claw, Gathering Storm, Chaos Bolts - so many ways to use (and abuse) these skills, and it's SO much fun playing around with them
I haven't played much, but I focused on making Puncture work... Spear/2h nodes in Falconer help, as well as Net to Puncture Trap conversion All the bonus damage on slowed/immobilized enemies, works so far
Ah yeah, Frost Claw makes my favorite late-bloomer Hydra RM really damn smooth to level. I get to right-click hero from 10-50 and don't even have to use invocation.
I am a HUGE Rive fan after trying it in this build. It's insane QOL, thanks for sharing it! Also, I am sure "Upfront healing" scales with healing effectiveness before converting to ward and that's why it gives so much ward.
I mean, yeah, obviously. Upfront *healing* scaling with *healing* effectiveness is kind of the point since healing effectiveness makes your healing more effective and upfront healing heals you. There's nothing to be "pretty sure" about. You can be 100% certain. Reading the effect explains the effect. That's what I love about LE so much. It tells you exactly what things do and you can use that knowledge to come up with random builds as long as you find something where x interacts with y and can be scaled with z.
I love melee and finally there is a melee fun in a game I have started the build and once you get to level 20 and start with the mechanic, boy oh boy... So much fun !! It's not even with the scaling and I just breeze by everything and destroy Thank you !!
Following up on my previous comment after having leveled this to the mid 30s. So smooth and enjoyable, really fun play style. Poor Shamans got shafted on the new melee skills compared to this combo now from pally. Great build.
Healing Hands is such a great skill - they did a great job with it. I've been enjoying using it with the Electrify Nodes and Order of Lagon Smite. Actually fulfills the direct cast smite fantasy, smiting everything with lightning. The melee version with Rive/Vengeance is also great. Plus you can get a Lunge like movement skill that doesn't require a target with a single point if you're only using healing hands indirectly.
I have been trying to figure out something with this build for a few days now and this has been insanely helpful for giving me some direction! Thank you so much!
Ive start building a new paladin yesterday when i saw your video. Ironicaly i was using rive since i feel better playing with it (pulling enemies and all) Glad to see im in the right path Ive also take the node to not use third strike on rive since the first two are much faster
Personally playing Rive+Healing Hands with a 2-handed setup. Not going crit, or at least not yet, since the best helmet for that blocks a pretty nice defensive effect on my Merophage. Between Merophage and Titan Hear, I got some great 'less damage taken' modifiers. Merophage is also just a fun slot-machine of a weapon. The reason why I go 2-handed is Void Cleave+Abyssal Echoes. With those two fully specced into Armor Shred, and the Rive node that doubles damage and ailment mods of your 2-handed weapons, I am able to sustain 220+ armor shred stacks on a target. Most of those stacks even have increased effect.
I've got two paladins. One focuses on str stacking with rive & crit, the other focuses on attunement with Volcanus & uses Vengeance for tankiness with tons of procs since they scale with attunement (sword proc, divine bolt, healing hands, holy flame burst). Tons of healing effect on both. Both are very good & fun. Once I can get a Volcanus with legendary potential, I think the second one will pull ahead. Attunement does so much for paladins, though the armor gap is pretty big when stacking strength.
Been digging this build a lot. Started late on Saturday cause of connection issues, but was able to go from 1 to monos in like 6 hours (which is fast for me) thanks to an easy campaign skip. Like I did T1 Julria (for the first time ever seeing the fight) at like 30 something. Whenever you first unlock Sanctum without doing the other skips. Totally tanked the room slam cause I didn't know I was supposed to switch times there. CoF is also broken. Already turned off rares cause I feel like I'm going to be fine until I start finding good exalts. Knowing what to filter out is still a bit of a head scratcher for me.
This build is pretty crazy, I've been playing warlock, wanted to change up a bit so started this today since I was off work. I'm 44 so far, had a good bit of twink gear that sped things up but his build is shredding stuff. No mana issues, face tank like a champ so far, curious to see how long I'll be able to do that. I had some lower level gloves with the experimental affix so I was able to do the ward thing from around level 30.
Absolutely love healing hands. probably my favorite new feature. even when the ward inevitably gets nerfed, i will never forget how busted and fun it was to build up tens of thousands of ward in seconds
Oh my gosh!!! I literally felt that “ is vengeance better than rive “ comment. I was lvling a sent. And was having a blast with rive, as soon as the guide I was using told me to switch to vengeance I stopped playing it haha. Earlier in the season I lvled a pally using only holy hands as the main dmg. Bringing both together makes me so happy! I’m gonna go back to my pally who’s around 40 now and try this. Thanks so much! Do you have a link for a loot filter for this build? I’m new to arpgs and filters are a bit intimidating to make on my own still.
I've been leveling mine using a Javelin build that uses heavy healing buffs from a specific node backed by throwing hammers while it's on cooldown. I played a Rive/Warstomp build in beta and it was just a lot more enjoyable to level with then my current build so I think I'm going to shift towards this since I've already been focusing on stacking healing effectiveness.
Thank you for this build!! it's insane I curently imported it into my forge guard and did a fire based version of it. Still working it out but doing corrupted monos have been infinitely better than before! Going to also mess with a renegades will Vengeance build for it at all considering will gives attack speed
The lst skillnode after urgent healing gives you a massive ward boost if you proc a heal at lower 50% health, I can just recommend it, it says it does not work on the player himselfe...but it does. I am just not sure about the cooldown, it has one though.
I just started (level 34) some similar build and having fun so far. But I didn't convert HH to a melee attack, instead wearing a wand, since the Paladin has lots of flat spell damage in his tree and the Fire Blast from Holy Aura is a spell anyway that I want to boost too.
I had a blast leveling and playing with this build, so much fun. I'm now at 305 corruption but also in the dungeons at max difficulty, it gets hard, because if you don't hit anything, just for a second, it could be too late. But how do other melee classes cope with this? The stun mechanics in this game are really aweful imo. My damage is OK'ish, and I don't even have 1 legendary and still need the belt unique. But the problem is survivability, which make me choose between slotting volatile reversal on my action bar OR healing hands itself, because it gives ward on use wihtout the need to hit enemies. Even so, 1 little mistake and its over. Anyway, super fun build!! Thanks
I want chat with people to see what kind of hits and survival they are seeing. 1. I dont run crit (3rd hit always crits - Rive) 2. I all leech (gloves,w eapon and some node in Rive I think) 3. Bucket load of armor shred (stacks hit 60+ in a few swings) 4. Boat load of Physical (800% heading to 1K - if i can get it there) 5. Boat lod of crit multiplier (350% - not as high as I want since my weapon doesnt have the sick walue i know i can get - need over 500%) 6. Lacking Physical Pen (i needs it and wants it) Crits range from 30-70K Just depends. I have no idea if that up or down.
The damage from this build comes from HH, not the weapon swings. Meaning you can want the fastest weapon you can find, to proc HH as often as possible. A 2H weapon will do less damage due to swinging less often.
@rlJam I know it comes form HH and why the 1h is used. I just use a similar build but with 2H with big hits and use HH to heal me while im in melee a little extra. We just use a similar build in different ways... that's all.
been playing a paladin with self cast smite proccing healing hands, been nice to play from ranged. the double cast from smite also counts as a direct cast, so if smite gets doubled, you get healing hands on that doubled cast as well
Glad I'm not the only one who found a build like this fun. Though mine I'm trying to make dual wielding work instead of reversal im using judgement as a perma buff of frenzy and armor shred. :D Only issue i run into is those mobs who leave something after death and ones that are just out of range. lvl 91 and keep up the great work fellow paladin!
I am playing a similar build and it's a TON of fun. I experimented with rive but after doing a bunch of experimentation, switched out of it. An unintuitive interaction: The Cleric's Hammer node on Healing Hands will proc a *secondary* healing hands resulting in a double attack. Using it directly also reliably procs divine bolts, which scale with healing effectiveness resulting in a shotgun barage of very high damage piercing projectiles. Weirdly, healing hands still scales with cast speed instead of attack speed even after taking Seraph Blade. Instead of rive and volatile reversal, I am using lunge (extra charge to zip around faster and cooldown recovery), and judgement configured to fully drain my mana for a max damage conscecrated ground to erase bosses. I am currently using a staff for cast speed and fire penetration on my weapon but it is less healing effectiveness than 1H + shield. I casually sit at 20k ward when holding down right click, and my gear is still trash. It has the potential to get much higher. This has been a stupidly safe build to play in hardcore, I completely disregard telegraphed enemy attacks.
@@secretsmile77 @lucasmello1109 Sorry, I don't have a build planner. It's still really similar to Perry's build, but uses healing hands directly and instead of stacking attack speed just stack cast speed.
this seems a lot worse than the rive portion because it is basically the same build except you cut out the middle man of rive. which is is kinda worse because of the node you need to take to get seraph blade directly hurting your cast speed.
If anyone's wondering about a spell version with a crystal wand: it does a lot more damage than this thanks to the Paladin tree having op nodes for spell crit multi. You still want to go attack speed for the most Healing Hands per second. Get Crit Chance and Multi, then Spell Dam and Healing Effectiveness where you can. Fire damage increases help too. Still going flame burst myself because it's a spell and giga scales with every stat except healing effect. You still do Rive like him because Rive has the most hits per second like he shows you.
Playing a similar build also, but I build upon Crit multiplier Katana with Rive 3rd strike and Phys Penetration from ignite instead. I also felt kinda edgy and use Shield bash as auxiliary skill to help stunning boss or mob once every 7-8 sec. Rive and Healing Hand are both such great skill. I was considering going Fire Shield Throw Lava Burst + Smite, but Rive is just so satisfying to play with Healing Hand proc.
Very cool build! I really like Rive and was playing Judgement because its "better" but its definitely also the most boring. How much attack speed is needed before Double Slash provides a DPS improvement?
god damn it, now i gotta respec again when i get home tonight 😂. i bricked my vk last night so gotta get some funds to try another build. This looks good.
Build this with Multistrike and also proc Smite? Or is there a reason to use rive that I am missing? Vengeance with fire shred could also be cool, and the more multipliers should scale the damage of healing hands too right?
Perry do you think this works better with clerics hammer and the reduced healing vs. straight up seraphs blade and the channel? Also, if HH doesn’t get the fire tag, yet seraphs blade says it does fire damage…so how does that work with fire scaling? EDIT: Swapped out to this build, only differenes were to convert javlin to a buff skill since im attunement stacking anyways and it adds 20% damage to HH. Also went dual wield sword/axe to double up on the sentinal passive tree attack speed nodes (for 48% total), and made it so rive skipped its third strike so it hits faster. So far loving the build. It generates WAY less ward than the channel/seraphs blade with cleaver solution, but damage output 2-3x with plenty of ward to spare (8k av vs 50-60k lol).
Make a BiS / ideal version on LETools when you can! That way we can know what to aim long term. Loving this build, and currently using Eye of Reen. I’ll probably move to an exalted sword with crit strike, but as soon I can add melee crit strike to Reen it’ll probably be the best 1H weapon for this.
Great content, where does all the Ward come from on hit please? Cant see it in your skills, wondering how to make an invincible build. Level 32 currently with high health regain but no ward. Staying alive...JUST
I started off doing a plan for shield rush with this build using bleed damage and cleaver solution. Unfortunately shield rush is still too buggy to play and I ripped my HC character to level 75 Lagon after getting stuck in place inside his beam.
Nice build - am trying another variant but you make great points that I'm taking up! Btw, wouldn't the heavenfire passive be superior to the prayer passive? Prayer gets 70% increased damage and 14 spell flat for HH conditionally. Heavenfire gets 30 spell flat all the time with shield equipped.
I played almost this exact build and love it! Now I'm trying a version with multistrike to proc smite and not getting seraph's blade to keep healing hands hits spell damage.
Rive has more speed, utility and area of effect than Vengeance. Once you have enough attack speed that the two become essentially the same speed, then switch to Vengeance.
i never read the text on the ward passive and i thought the 3000 ward per second i was getting was a bug. It's nowhere near balanced, to the point i am not having a lot of fun doing the channeled version.I might swap to melee or divine bolt triggers.
I was going to follow one of the Maxroll guides for the hammer throw /w smite build but not a fan of hammer personally. Rive looks like ton of fun so I'm going to try and level (currently lvl 15) with this! Thanks mate! Easy sub. Do you by any chance have a filter for this?
hmmm... I wonder if I can put Healing Hands on my Warpath Smite autobomber. Would need to re-gear obvs, but, there's potential to just stand on top of Orobyss and spin. Would obviously need to get the mana cost to 0 first since no regen.
vengeance is defiantly better before you get enough ward to sustain you, then the extra speed from rive is huge. sigil of hope seems extremely weak to me, seems much better to take lunge. you dont have any source of ward retention?
New guy to LE since launch, figuring most things out, but where do i get those gloves? Seems pretty pivotal to this build. I know i cant craft them and no idea if you can farm them somewhere. Also how are you auto activating holy aura? Holding down a button or is there a passive for that?
I have switched my build to this Rive build. It feels good. However, how I can craft experimental spec to the exalted glove? Do you have a video showing this trick?
@@PerrythePig I got it. I figured it out. A friend sent me a crafting calculator on Belt, boot, and glove for experimental affix chances. I made one myself. It is kind of complicated at first time. Now I almost have everything I need except legendary idol. Working on my healing effectiveness number to go beyond 1000+. I love this build. Thank you
I'm using this character now and its phenomenal, genuinely amazing. I am not however using the volatile time travel skill. I don't understand it at all. Could you go into a small amount of detail why you use it. I see 30% attack speed but its for 2 seconds? That sounds worthless to me.
you could, but I'd be looking to vengeance for defense at that point. Keep in mind the whole ward generation will be nerfed in patch 1.1, in about 2 months.
I was about to suggest some weapons as well, but was glad to see you mention Eye of Reen! It would probably be amazing to dual wield that weapon too since it has a ton of really amazing stuff we would love for a build like this, and we could double up on the proc chance for it's stacking buff! Another noteworthy sword I was considering, though might make us more fragile, would be dual wielding Chronostasis. Not only does it also have the highest base weapon speed like Eye of Reen (at 1.2), But it can convert our ward into TONS of raw physical damage (Up to +400 raw damage when consuming the max of 4000 ward when dual wielding) and it even comes with some extra attack speed baked into it's default modifiers. I have not had the chance to test this out at all so it's hard to say how aggressively this might eat up your ward, but for sure I think it might be a great contender right up there with Eye of Reen. It's hard to say which would outperform considering the Eye of Reen gives some really juicy Crit Damage Multi! Would love to see what you think of this weapon, and if you see one you should try it out and let me know how it goes. One other small thing of noteworthiness, Is I was considering trying this on a void knight that has a healthy amount of points in the first half of paladin for healing effectiveness. Why was I considering this? On top of the chance for echo's, there is a lovely node near the end of the tree which can give you another whopping 30% attack speed! There is also a nifty node that gives my setup 51% more crit damage multi. To top it off, Rive can DOUBLE your echo chance up to 80% on hit!!! You also don't lose out on a lot of healing effectiveness from dropping the second half of the paladin tree. :) Here is the base setup I made on the planner, can give me a shout if you like it (Zion): www.lastepochtools.com/planner/jQeDG85A Might notice a few other nifty choices such as Vortex Pennant for a whole lot of addition physical damage while dual wielding.
@@joelatkinson208 from what I can tell, that is the case. He does mention in the video that you could decide to dual wield as well, but it was only a very quick comment. Considering everything dies so fast already, I think the added defense isn't as needed and you are probably better off leaning into the hyper DPS setup. Still need to put it into practice myself ofcourse to be sure it works as I suspect it will. 🧐 Playing around with a primalist build atm that reaches some insane attack speeds.
I changed my Bleed Hammerdin to this version and just love the fluidity of the build. Thank you!!!

GJ. Do u have item filter for it ?
I loved your rive build excited for a variant
Make a BiS / ideal version on LETools when you can!
That way we can know what to aim long term. Loving this build, and currently using Eye of Reen. I’ll probably move to an exalted sword with crit strike, but as soon I can add melee crit strike to Reen it’ll probably be the best 1H weapon for this.
hey man, great vid great build! Can u plz post your loot filter for this build?
I'm running you build in 1.1, very good, do you have filter for this build?
Thanks!!!!!
Do you post a loot filter?
Great content, where does all the Ward come from on hit please? Cant see it in your skills, wondering how to make an invincible build. Level 32 currently with high health regain but no ward. Staying alive...JUST
I started off doing a plan for shield rush with this build using bleed damage and cleaver solution. Unfortunately shield rush is still too buggy to play and I ripped my HC character to level 75 Lagon after getting stuck in place inside his beam.
Would be cool to see an LETools with the "Dream setup"
Nice build - am trying another variant but you make great points that I'm taking up! Btw, wouldn't the heavenfire passive be superior to the prayer passive? Prayer gets 70% increased damage and 14 spell flat for HH conditionally. Heavenfire gets 30 spell flat all the time with shield equipped.
I played almost this exact build and love it! Now I'm trying a version with multistrike to proc smite and not getting seraph's blade to keep healing hands hits spell damage.
I'm doing that and just hit empowered monos but kinda struggling on scaling the damage
Hey Perry, was wondering how you would build a rive character with healing hands but a Void Knight version?
Also, anyway you can try out a multistike smite proccing build with this set up?
Is there a loot filter for thisa build?
Gonna try make this build how's its pushing and boss clear?
Awesome build - rolling a HC character. Any tips on how to solve the mana issues, early at least?
Looks crazy to me that you don't have your resistances capped, are they not as good as I think they are?
I'm doing an electrify smite healing hands build. New to this game and having a blast.
I started this build yesterday and it's amazing! i'm in the 90 monolith atm. I've a question: RAHYEH's LIGHT could fit in the build?
Yes it will, it's just a question of which unique shield is better...or maybe just which one you find first with 2 or 3 LP :)
Rive has more speed, utility and area of effect than Vengeance.
Once you have enough attack speed that the two become essentially the same speed, then switch to Vengeance.
can you release the loot filter
this is exactly what i was looking for
What about "Eye of Reen" ? Would that fit the build ? Possible chase one with two LP for attack speed and crit.
I'm working on getting a good Exalt to slam on my 2LP Eye of Reen as I type this.
@@PerrythePig Damn. All the best for the slam. Cant wait for an update later into the build.
So is healing hand dealing melee fire damage? because you said you can use eye of rene, but later you said it has no fire tag on it
i never read the text on the ward passive and i thought the 3000 ward per second i was getting was a bug. It's nowhere near balanced, to the point i am not having a lot of fun doing the channeled version.I might swap to melee or divine bolt triggers.
Cool build. IS there any way to increase the suck in ability of Rive? Also what are the best stats to scale besides crit multi?
LOVE this build I just got a Humming Bee @around 70 - seems like a reeeeeaaaly good weapon for this build. Any thoughts on it?
I was going to follow one of the Maxroll guides for the hammer throw /w smite build but not a fan of hammer personally. Rive looks like ton of fun so I'm going to try and level (currently lvl 15) with this! Thanks mate! Easy sub. Do you by any chance have a filter for this?
hmmm... I wonder if I can put Healing Hands on my Warpath Smite autobomber. Would need to re-gear obvs, but, there's potential to just stand on top of Orobyss and spin. Would obviously need to get the mana cost to 0 first since no regen.
Warpath and Healing Hands don't really synergize. "When you use a melee attack..." only happens once per channel with Warpath.
@@PerrythePig Welp. Never mind. Thanks.
vengeance is defiantly better before you get enough ward to sustain you, then the extra speed from rive is huge.
sigil of hope seems extremely weak to me, seems much better to take lunge.
you dont have any source of ward retention?
New guy to LE since launch, figuring most things out, but where do i get those gloves? Seems pretty pivotal to this build. I know i cant craft them and no idea if you can farm them somewhere.
Also how are you auto activating holy aura? Holding down a button or is there a passive for that?
do you have a loot filter for it ?
how about using vengeance instead of Rive? vengeance seems to have better dealing support nodes
totally agree, and it looks better on paper too. Rive is MUCH more fun in my opinion, and the QOL for the Vacuum node in Rive feels so good.
Could this work on a void knight ?
Why not run a 2 hand on this build? Is it squishy for late game?
Is there an attack speed cap in this game? or breakpoints for skills such as warpath? healing hands looks insane
Hey @Perry, thanks for the content I am level 38 running Javelin an Rive... what level do you think I can switch to this build?
Have any loot filter for this build?
I have switched my build to this Rive build. It feels good. However, how I can craft experimental spec to the exalted glove? Do you have a video showing this trick?
take a peak at my most recent YT video.
I've got just the video for you! th-cam.com/video/YfAgWXvpXCU/w-d-xo.html
@@PerrythePig Thank you boss
Do you know what's EHG's position regarding mid cycle nerfs?
Is the build planner going to be updated eventually or will it be a different link when it's done?
done. rerolling right now... again...
How likely is this to survive past 1.1 and the rumored purge of ward exploits?
did you try out the healing hand melee to proc healing hands? And if yes which one do you think is better
Could you do a build like this with dual wielding?
you could, but I'd be looking to vengeance for defense at that point. Keep in mind the whole ward generation will be nerfed in patch 1.1, in about 2 months.
@PerrythePig oh did they announce that ward is getting nerfed ?
Any Lootfilters for lvling and endgame ? :)
Can we get a lootfilter for this build? i am a new player i dont be able to do it myself.
is there guide on how to level this up?
Does the 2 handed dual wield node in rive, titan heart, and anvil stance combo still work?
Could it have a place in this buil
Here is the base setup I made on the planner, can give me a shout if you like it (Zion):
www.lastepochtools.com/planner/jQeDG85A
Might notice a few other nifty choices such as Vortex Pennant for a whole lot of addition physical damage while dual wielding.
Do you have a loot filter for this by chance?
Sorry, I don't. Am decently new with LE and ARPG's in general, so I have not really put much time into the loot filters yet.
@@rouajohn
im going to give this a try, i love dual weilding and never see it anywhere.
Theoretically this should work considering how healing hands works, all the shield adds is defense it has no major role in the ward/healing aspect no?
@@joelatkinson208 from what I can tell, that is the case. He does mention in the video that you could decide to dual wield as well, but it was only a very quick comment. Considering everything dies so fast already, I think the added defense isn't as needed and you are probably better off leaning into the hyper DPS setup.
Still need to put it into practice myself ofcourse to be sure it works as I suspect it will. 🧐
Playing around with a primalist build atm that reaches some insane attack speeds.
