I had the strangest path to his music. A friend of mine who never shared things posted rip mac. So I knew about the end before hearing the first note. Mac is the reason I am still here. The soundtrack of my past, present and future. For there *will* be a future, thanks to him.
I love your channel man. I love your appreciation for the art of hip hop and the way you break it down for your dad. I also love how receptive your dad has been throughout all of your vids and his genuine interest in the genre. He started with such an open mind and now it's clear he is a true fan of hip hop/rap music. Beautiful.
I brought my brother to surprise and propose to his then girlfriend. When I picked him up right when he got in my car this song started playing. Seemed so poetic and perfect for the moment. I ended my best man speech at their wedding with “May everyday from here on out be your best day ever.”
This is my favourite Mac song. It makes me happy and sad. RIP. I was lucky enough to watch him live in London on his first visit across the pond in 2010ish. It was such a fun show. I Threw 8 and Loud are also great records
I'm right there with you about this being a song from my formative years. And it is crazy the lyrics in a vacuum this could be seen as the most outright positive wholesome chorus in a rap song and now it is genuinely hard not to tear up to it. Crazy to think that in no more than a decade, Mac went from that kind of outlook to doing hard drugs to escape reality and it ultimately taking him far too soon. But in a way, I don't think he ever lost this outlook which makes it bittersweet, "No matter where life takes me find me with a smile. Pursuit to be happy, only laughing like a child." Everyone who knew Mac personally says he was such a pleasant person to be around and always spread joy and positivity even when he was personally battling a lot of demons.
This is my favorite Max song, before I really got into him I remember this playing on my moms phone while she was doing her makeup, getting ready for work. I was laying under the dining table looking at the wood stains and I’ll just never forget that experience. This is the first song i play on my birthday every year.
The video was shot in Front of 'Taylor Allderdice High School' in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Squirrel Hill is a diverse community and home to the city's largest Jewish population. Allderdice High School is also where Wiz Khalifa attended and birthed 'The Taylor Gang'. Great review gentleman!!
Now lets see his reaction to songs from GOOD:AM, like "Ascension" and "Perfect Circle / Godspeed"... Those are a sharp contrast from the happy times of "Best Day Ever".
Mac miller is one of my favorite artists ever, he just knew how to relate to so many people. Also i couldnt help but notice the Screw Tape poster, love from Houston🙌‼️
please do more reactions of mac, i love y’all’s reactions and mac has helped me get through so many times in my life i’d love to see your dads reactions to so many more mac’s songs 🩷
Miss Mac so much. I was in this era when it dropped. He was like a really cool yet slightly rowdy friend that I graduated from high school with. Shoutout to the class of 2010
2011! I was a sophmore in high school watching Mac and MGK come up at the same time. It was amazing times for real. The music from then was just a different feeling for those few years. I'd love for you to show some old stuff of MGKs like chip off the block and stuff.
Ahh miss teen mac when he used to come to the female steelers games back in Pittsburgh. He was cool asf and always humble. He’d do a drive-by every other thanksgiving or so at my grandma’s and grab some food and play us some music or show us pictures of what he was working on. RIP Malcolm. Funnily enough, I never knew his real name until he was famous cause i was a kiddo when he came around.
Playing this at my wedding in June while I stand at the alter waiting for my fiancé to walk with her dad. Mac was the soundtrack to my life in high school so it’s only right to have my boy up there with me.
hi guys, discovered your channel recently with 2pac reacts, love it and particularly ur sensitiveness ! Mac was also one of my favourite artists as a teenager and i love Best day ever. Rip Mac RIP Pac ! PS : surprised that you didn't cover Life goes on from 2pac yet, dad would love it for sure!
I can’t wait until my son is old enough for me to sit and introduce him to the music I grew up on. Also, this video always gets me in my feelings. He was one artist that I was genuinely sad about passing..
first off, love the Japan kit. secondly, Best Day Ever the album) had a choke hold on me in high school, just playing front to back, back to front. i know it inside and out. it had a great balance of catchy songs and ones that were just easy going. i prefer the "bonus" version of BDE just because it is a bit more mellow and you can really just hear Mac talking. also you're dad isn't "wrong" on the M&M guess haha
He wasn't on my radar cause i was older when he debuted. However, when he passed away I experienced SWIMMING & it Blew my mind and Broke my Heart. He was a gifted musician and i wonder what treasures he would have kept producing . I delved into his discography and I can sincerely and Unbiasedly say Listen to his Discography in Chronological Order. It will paint the full picture of his growth(Musically and Emotionally) i rarely recommend listening to any artists catalog this way but he Definitely Merits It
Would really like to see the reaction from you two to either or both future islands-seasons and/or tv on the radio-wolf like me. Your dad's reaction to space song really made me curious, I feel the same way every time I hear it or these songs. Thx for the vids!
Hey there,I'm here to suggest a biggie smalls song called Juicy,it's been a long time since biggie was covered on the channel and the song has a great message to it,hope you do the react on that specific song :)
Great reaction!! I love your videos. I would like to see your dad react to one of Nickis emotional songs, like all things go, grand piano or are you gone already. Looking forward for the next videos!
Love your videos you gotta do congratulations and kool aid and frozen pizza. Rip Mac i get teared up watching this video and get goosebumps listening to his music
Love Mac Miller. First time commentator. I'm going to request some. DMX "who we be" Nas "rewind" Jay Z "where have you been" Ja Rules "race against time" Mac Miller "desperado"
This song is so sad considering where he was musically at the end of his career and the subject he was speaking about. At the beginning of his career he was so happy and excited to be where he was and where he was going but when he finally got to where he thought he wanted to be it spiraled
oh man, I miss Mac everyday... Would love to hear your reactions to something from Swimming and Watching movies with the sound off (maybe REMember?), Colours and shapes, Weekend? What's your fave Mac song?
Please check out the Danish band Kashmir! They’re one of my favorite bands ever and their song Melpomene is so touching (surfing the warm industry is a close 2nd)

A friend of mine who never shared things posted rip mac. So I knew about the end before hearing the first note.

Young Mac Miller singing The Sugar Hill Gangs “Rappers Delight”. Wow!!! His parents had to have put him up on it and gave him the rapper bug.
