Showing primitive behavior, won't engage in dialogue before rioting, looting and violence, no respect for the struggling businesses that they are destroying. They demand and they take for themselves that which others earn. There are so many other instances of this type scenario all around the world, too. It's such a shame. Will we ever see civilization peaceful and content with living together?
It takes time for new regions to be civilized where they still have customary laws normalizing their society. They do not fully understand the new concept of centralized laws. It will take many small wars and dedication from the central government to educate and teach these ethnic groups.

Most of the looting are carried out be un/semi-employed residents of squatter settlements littered around Port Moresby. Most of the affected business houses are also located close to those settlements. Only locations which are furthest from the settlements, or had those squatter settlements removed /evicted, have zero looting/ran-sacking of the stores/supermarkets/business houses. Squatter settlement is the breeding ground for illicit activities and opportunists. This was clearly demonstrated on Wednesday.
Appreciate the news The Australian 🤙🏽 I m a patriot of Papua New Guinea the struggle is real out here no movie, this is a sad day for my country as this day was inevitable. This National FcukUp is a result of bad governance, political corruption, weak leadership, continued social struggles and economic suffering built up overtime - its like the government built a bomb with the wrong ingredients and the shit self-detonated lol…every action has a reaction thus an action must be taken for change to happen. The world got their views about us as a people, that’s fine we don’t mind we never do, we know we seen as primitives yet we wear that badge with honor and continue our fight for survival continue to show love to foreigners (even when being exploited). End of the day we fear God we love people we believe all human being is created equal by YAHWEH regardless of race color or creed. Despite our crisis much worse events happening all around the world right now as its unlikely coincidental and maybe biblical…so chill out world this problem is simply a temporary ‘GLITCH’ everyone affected should be paid and back in business by next fortnight 🤣🇵🇬
Bro if ur not PNGian than you don't know that the people don't elect them, they elect themselves. Look up news of the 2022 general election in PNG for context.
The last election was rigged!!! So much that the they appointed a prime minister without completing counting in other electorates. We are not dumb, we see these things, we oppose it, we protest it only to get shut down by the same policemen who protested when they weren't paid what they expected. Corruption on so many levels that nothing ever seems to go right in this country. Every man for himself while everyone else suffers.
Babes most of us aren't dumb enough to believe that we can win the bid and keep the team going in the long run, those who do are either blind fanatics or government officials who claim to know the plight of the people and sympathizing with us while simultaneously stuffing their own pockets. We fully support the development of the game but are nowhere near capable of financially supporting an nrl team . It's madness.

Our current PNG government has the biggest national executive council in the commonwealth with reference to the population (ratio) meaning all facets of its failures and deficiencies wether economic, social or lawlessness has a responsible body to capture and fix yet something went wrong. The current government has to go or else another Haiti is brewing in the South Pacific, at the door steps of Australia.

There are going to be some hungry people till they can resupply
That's only difference between us and the rest...
We have our own customary lands to go back to where there's abundance of food from the Land and Sea.
