Interesting thoughts on How To Sell A Haunted House… I really need to read that one and see how I like his style. Great top pick! Phenomenal graphic novel!
Nice list. The fourth book in the Dare to be Scared series was actually my favorite, and I think it has the most disturbing stories. There's one story in there with a SUPER similar plot to a famous horror movie that came out 10 years later - I won't spoil it but look out for it!
Good list. I enjoyed the Grady Hendrix a little more than you but I can't disagree with some of the things you said. I also have Obelisk. I need to kick that one up on my reading list.
Outside of Paperbacks from Hell, I've never heard anybody say anything good about Hendrix. And honestly, while PfH is a fine compilation of horror book covers, it's written in a very contrived way we've all seen before, and constantly tinges with millennial upspeak.
Thanks for sharing your monthly reads. I'll have to check out some of these titles.
Grady Hendrix is an author I wished I liked. Like you, I loved PAPERBACKS FROM HELL.
