Jane is a prefect Miss. Hannigan, If they ever make another Annie movie they need to cast her. She's right up there with Kathy Bates who was also great!
Lord love anyone who attempts to breathe realistic life into old materiel but ANNIE was, and always will be, classic musical comedy gold and probably should always be played as such.
I've been dancing for 45 years and choreographing theatre musicals for over 25 years. I've toured with Broadway shows and have dance with 2 New York companies. Listen to the song and look at their movements. It's telling a story. Great choreography and well done!!! They don't need to be doing double turns and high kicks to call it choreography.
Terrible choreography and anyone who thinks it's good clearly hasn't seen the brilliant Peter Gennero original. THAT is choreography friends. THAT builds to a frenzy. This is people moving around.
I use to take singing lessons with Clarke Thorell's mother, Patricia Merrill. She would tell about him and the roles he got, I had no idea he was this talented.
I saw this version on broadway. Jane Lynch was amazing. A lot of times broadway shows bring in a big star as a way to bring money into a show, and sometimes it pays off and sometimes it's like "meh". She was SO PERFECT for this part that had she been in the shows cast from day one, she may have even won a tony. I still don't understand how on earth they could make a new "Annie" movie and cast Cameron Diaz instead of Jane Lynch!!!
Yea Lynch was perfect. I think the whole point of the latest film was to make it more youthful and modern and maybe they wanted a younger looking Hannigan who could be seen as the type that uses her body to get men, I dunno.
ROOSTER I remember the way Our sainted mother Would sit and croon us Her lullaby MISS HANNIGAN She'd say, "Kids, there's a place That's like no other You gotta get there before you die. Jane was PHENOMENAL! The Rooster was really good too. I found the Lily incredibly annoying though. Like, her first line, and she was already grating on my nerves. But, aside from that, great performance from a terrific performance
Everything that an actor does during a song is choreography, I think you mean specifically that Disney added an instrumental dance section - however the original film already did so.
There's something sort off with this performance. Like I know the actors are trying their best, but the direction makes them seem way too..."rehearsed". It's like they're already knowing what the other characters are going to say when they react and none of the lines are landing. I also think it seems so rushed which I think is because there's no chemistry between the actors. There's a lack of "ease" in this "Easy Street". Maybe it's because I just came off from watching the 1977 Tony performance and just seeing the truncated version being performed to perfection by Loudon and company. Every line was delivered perfectly and the directing/choreography just brought the song up.
Totally, somebody that knows about theatre. Audiences just don't know what real theatre is. I felt the same way, like something is off, she is not natural at all, maybe because she knows she can't move well and she is trying to hide it.
Well, I tried out for Miss Hannigan, and got Mrs. Greer. My teachers didn't know they gave me such a small part, so they gave me Star to Be and Pepper.
My teacher apparently already had her cast chosen before the auditions, its so friggin dumb. she said I was a better actress, but gave it to the other girl because she could dance.....I cant wiggle my butt standing on a table, like come on!
The choreographer is out of his league. The entire show was sloppy and mediocre from start to finish. New here doesn't mean IMPROVED. I saw the original cast and let me tell you, Peter Gennaro had lightning in a bottle with Loudon, Fitch and Erwin.
Oh, I've heard she wasn't good at dancing but I didn't except her to be as bad. "Easy street" with out the dancing (she barely moves) it's a shame. She sings very well though.
This stinks in every way: choreography, characterization, relationships, design, humor, style, etc. Can't hold a candle to the original work of Peter Gennaro and Martin Charnin and company.
Jane is a prefect Miss. Hannigan, If they ever make another Annie movie they need to cast her. She's right up there with Kathy Bates who was also great!
The101genco and she sang little girls and NYC on glee
Amen to that.
They did so good and iconic!🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Carol Burnett erasure
In the late 90s or early 2000s- I saw Sally Struthers as Miss Hannigan at the Kodak in Hollywood and think she did a really great job.
I noticed this, too. Their movements all pretty much go with the beat. It is subtle, though.
It's still terrible choreography.
Terrible choreography and anyone who thinks it's good clearly hasn't seen the brilliant Peter Gennero original. THAT is choreography friends. THAT builds to a frenzy. This is people moving around.
haineshisway Couldn’t agree more - this looks like it was devised in 15 minutes as they had no ideas.
@@iananthony3560 Yup. Horrible.
I just got my role changed in my schools production of annie. From Mrs Pugh to Lily. I got really excited!
+Rachel Grundy (RachelFailsAtThings) im doing annie and im Lily
congratulations !
Rachel Grundy same! I literally just found out that I got lily at the theatre in my town and I'm soooo excited
I love reading this haha. I played Mrs. Pugh in high school and now I'm 20 and I got called back for Lily yesterday.
Rachel Grundy I got called back but I'm not going to be all of these characters but I got Lily, Grace, and Orphan #1 so I'm just going to be one
I use to take singing lessons with Clarke Thorell's mother, Patricia Merrill. She would tell about him and the roles he got, I had no idea he was this talented.
Clarke Thorell has one of the smoothest voices I’ve ever heard, and he’s singing this awesome song, it all fits so well
I love that this production paved the songs up just a little it feels more natural
1:45 Lily left with the chair in the smoothest way possible
And that’s how Sue C‘s it
fantastic
jane lynch was perfect for Miss Hannigan
THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!
I love this lily! My school is doing Annie and I was cast as Lily st Regis and this by far is my favorite adaptation so far!
Izzy Skye I was Lily too!! IT WAS AWESOME!
I'm playing Lilly this year lmao
another lily here!
Ok. I clicked on this (I’d never seen anything from this version of Annie) and was like “Coach Sylvester? No it can’t be- Oh wait... SUE!?”
Lmao
I saw this version on broadway. Jane Lynch was amazing. A lot of times broadway shows bring in a big star as a way to bring money into a show, and sometimes it pays off and sometimes it's like "meh". I still don't understand how on earth they could make a new "Annie" movie and cast Cameron Diaz instead of Jane Lynch!!!
Lmao I’m a bit late to the party, but ye, it’s insane!! Like Cameron Dallas in mean girls? They keep casting untalented Cameron’s, even 7 years later
ROBBED
Yea Lynch was perfect. I think the whole point of the latest film was to make it more youthful and modern and maybe they wanted a younger looking Hannigan who could be seen as the type that uses her body to get men, I dunno.
Best number in the show! Thank you for posting.
Jane Lynch...AN ICON!
4:13 is so smooth, scratch my head in the right way. The rooster is so amazing here
I love it!!
But can we talk about how funny that Lily was?
She would be perfect for Angelica in Hamilton
Jane Lynch as Ms. Hannigan is perfect!
Looks like Sophie Lennon got a gig playing Miss Hannigan!
Awesome
I'm missing the original Broadway production's show stopping choreography ✋️
musical Annie大好き💕
Jane was great in
this role
5:06 what am I watching watch rooster and Lilly
Love Jane Lynch
ROOSTER
I remember the way
Our sainted mother

You gotta get there before you die.
ROOSTER
You don't get there
By playing from the rulebook
HANNIGAN
You stack the aces
ROOSTER

MISS HANNIGAN
She works for Oliver Warbucks.

She works for him up in his mansion

MISS HANNIGAN
Brought me the wonderful new that Annie,
one of the orphans from here, Annie,
God I hate that kid,
Is gettin' adopted by Warbucks.
Gonna have everything.
That rotten kid
is gonna have everything.
LILY
Crummy orphan
livin, in the lap of luxury.
It ain't fair.
MISS HANNIGAN

ROOSTER

That little lady,
MISS HANNIGAN
To getting more bucks
ROOSTER
Instead of less.
Maybe we fix the game
With something shady...
LILY
Where does that put us?
MISS HANNIGAN
Oh, tell her.
ROOSTER
Give you one guess!
ROOSTER, MISS HANNIGAN, AND LILY
Yes!
Easy Street,

Jane was PHENOMENAL! The Rooster was really good too. I found the Lily incredibly annoying though. Like, her first line, and she was already grating on my nerves. But, aside from that, great performance from a terrific performance
SirJedi Consular lily is supposed to be like that aha
Yeah but I think the way Lily says "the little brat" is hilarious !
SirJedi Sentinel well that is her character so😂😂
Angie Maxwell yess
They did not have a clucking Rooster
That choreography makes me want to poke out my eyes.
Everything that an actor does during a song is choreography, I think you mean specifically that Disney added an instrumental dance section - however the original film already did so.
I play Lily in my show
Pookie Dancer On Broadway I play Rooster
Nothing beats the Original Broadway choreography. It was so free & they just let rip. It didn’t have to look perfectly technical and rehearsed.
what if Glenn Close plays Miss Hannigan also
Finally someone who matches up the m to Dorothy Loudon
The next time I watch this I want maxfoetwo as Lily, Filthy Frank as Ms.Hannigan, Idubbz as rooster, and pewdiepie as Annie.
Angelina Hylian Jesus Christ, we need an entire Annie production using only TH-camrs! You're a genius!
3:36
Hope it's the recording, because the dialogue is hard to hear. Xx
Performances also seem slow, sluggish, no energy. Xx
There's something sort off with this performance. Like I know the actors are trying their best, but the direction makes them seem way too..."rehearsed". Do you have the full musical?
So i tryed out for Lily, and instead got cast as ms.Greer... wow I must really Fucking suck...
But think of all the girls that didn't get cast in the production that you were in at all. Celebrate!
Mauricio Alejandro Villalobos everyone got in....she said I would have gotten the part if I was a dancer...
I feel the same about mine, but they say they didn't.
im mrs hannigan
Clan Quet is Dying Fast as Fred
The music was way too loud it drowned out their voices.
do you have her singing little girls??
I don't know where videos from the actual production are...if there are any. But search for the Tony Awards performance. She sings it there.
The choreographer is out of his league. The entire show was sloppy and mediocre from start to finish. New here doesn't mean IMPROVED. I saw the original cast and let me tell you, Peter Gennaro had lightning in a bottle with Loudon, Fitch and Erwin.
What choreography? NOTHING. Ridiculous. No wonder it SUCKED.
Lilly was mother to annie
i thought taping was illegal
It is, and so is grand larceny but that doesn't stop people from doing it.
Oh, I've heard she wasn't good at dancing but I didn't except her to be as bad.
"Easy street" with out the dancing (she barely moves) it's a shame. She sings very well though.
No one can top Alan Cumming in the 1999 TV movie. Tim Curry is great, but that movie is a train wreck.
This stinks in every way: choreography, characterization, relationships, design, humor, style, etc. Can't hold a candle to the original work of Peter Gennaro and Martin Charnin and company.
Lousy choreo, there’s absolutely no uniformity to it at all
Good Miss Hannigan from Jane Lynch though
Lousy choreography...Peter Genaro...the best
I AGREE!
