Hi Lewis, how did you get the Zello app onto this plesse ? I've got a decent deal on Amazon on some RB20's which are Android 7.1 but no confirmation or info found on whether Zello can be installed on the RB20 or RB21 ... The Retevis management / dispatch option is interested but I'd rather have Zello ... Thanks
Morning Lewis. I’ve just got myself an Inrico T320 which is a good phone/radio. The only problem I have with it is the keypad on the screen is so small and it takes me half an hour when I want to search for something. I may add a Bluetooth keyboard to make life easier 🤓
Would it be crazy to use these types of phones as a normal smartphone? I like the design more and they look more rugged.. I don't use many apps so the small ram could be enough?
I'd much perfer if these network radios were in the same style as a basic handheld radio, take a baofeng bf-888s style case as an example. Throw a sim card in the back under the battery. knob on the top for power and volume, another for channel up and down. Push to talk on the side. Have it run android, job done. Then you can program the zello channels and login via programming cable. It'd be very much akin to using a regular PMR style radio, simple channel up or down for the different zello channels you're using. and it'd be tacticle without the fuss of it being a basically mobile phone.
How do these compare to F22/Sure7s in terms of screensize and touch response? Also, which connection is used for a headset? Interesting review as always, thanks.
Hi, are there differences in functionally between the Linux and Android based phones, other than Google based apps. Do you need a computer running Linux to use say the M9900 Thanks
Probably an ancient chipset with no support for newer versions. That really is a bummer. I don't care as much about features of the OS, but I'm not so happy with that 2016 security patch date visible at 2:28.
Great video, I just don't think network radios are worth it. Just download the app free and your done. It's like going backwards getting an old copy of Android on a cheap phone, putting a dedicated ptt for £130 that's insane.
I'm struggling to see a difference in this device and a regular phone. It still relies on the internet to communicate, therefore it's no different than a regular phone. In fact it's an outdated phone. Any device that cannot operate outside the parameters of a phone network, and or internet connection, is just another device that's a slave to the system. If the Web, or network goes down , the device goes down with it. All this device offers is a cell phone packaged with a different appearance that actually does less and is more complicated to use. Speaker phone is nothing new, and you don't even need to press to talk. Work on creating the same type of devices that can operate outside the network, and have longer transmission ranges, that aren't weighed down by all the pathetic restrictions of licencing by the FCC etc.. And then you will have something worth using that is free of the "system".
Totally agree 💯%. Device is shit aswell. As I watch more of this guys videos it pushes me away from being licensed or even getting a radio. Reason - I took intrest in radio because I'd like to communicate if worst comes to worst. NOT TO BUY A BUNCH OF ARIELS AND RADIOS AND SEE WHICH REPEATER I CAN HIT. When looking into it further I discovered 1. I need a licence (basically a subscription) and have to have some ridiculous callsign (what about my name?) 2. When looking into hardware (device or ariels) it's all complex for no reason!!! 🙄 3. The frequecies are a joke in every sense of the word - exception is pmr446 frequencies that allow free communication Know of any youtubers that actually show you interesting things you can do with your radio? (not driving up hills talking to repeaters) 🤔
STOP calling this a radio, its not a radio its an android pone that can run the zello app .... also its on android 5 and doesn't have any of the GAPPS install so no play store, gmail or any google play services that 98% of any modern app require to function.......its just more pretend radio gear that people buy instead of bothering to go get there licence .......anyways 73, M6TZO
Think you need to look up the definition of a radio... He never called it a ham radio, or a UHF radio, or a VHF radio or a HF radio. He just references it as a radio, last time I looked 4G uses radio waves, thus its a radio. Stop being a ham snob, go yell at the kids in your front yard. That said, I think these are kind of dumb... I've seen some people say BlueDV will work on these, if that is the case then it might be handy for a glorified DMR hotspot. I'd throw one in my car for when my DMR radio can't hit any of the local repeaters. Theres a good stretch between San Diego and Yuma where there is just nothing.
Using 'radio' is more of a colloquial/interchangeable term to describe these devices... why people get so hung up is beyond me and as for 'it's not real radio' moaners, no need to remind us - this is a great YT channel to promote Zello and new devices.
@@RingwayManchester Stakker Humanoid can confirm Comrade Wingray didn't say it is a real radio. Stakker Humanoid says you do need a licence to operate it however.
It's a two way digital radio with software installed that enables it make phone calls and use Push to Talk services. There's no wire attached, so it HAS to use radio to communicate.

Hi Lewis, what type of connection is there for a wired audio acc like a speaker mic or 'hands free' type earphone/mic
Thanks

I've been wondering if EchoLink will work on one of these.

Lewis would love to see more reviews on the latest network radios + UHF 400-520MHz WIFI 4G smart radio ?
I checked the specs, didn't see any 4G LTE bands for US. Not B4, B17/12....
Great little radio lewis. Quality sound. How much are they for sale in uk.
£116 from eBay
@@purebloodhunter thank you for replying.
it's not a radio.....it's a phone with apps
@@purebloodhunter What's the score with customs charges if you order from Retevis? Price is low but could there be extra costs?

That intro music is like porn music from the 70s, raunchy and savage!
How do I put zello on the rt70
How to factory reset RT 70 please.
Is it installed Play Store?
Android Version 5 or 9?
Great little device, but why do they insist on using such outdated versions of Android?

The outdated version of Android is because it's for the Manchester market.
Price plz
How much
This work in the USA?
В смысле? Этот аппарат полностью безполезен на местности, где нет сетей LTE, GSM?
Like Nextel back in the days.

not into network radio but if they look like this it might change
Comrade Wingray.
Please fit an external antenna and you'll get more range on 274Mhz.
Give me £38.81 and I'll send you one.
Another great video! Is the android version upgradable?
Just a phone really ?

Not impressed with it .

Can you make phone calls with it if you use a data only card ? No? Then it’s not a Phone ;)
But yes it’s no direct Link Radio
In my opinion this is not a "real radio" it is a cellphone.
