I cannot seem to find the standard for the encryption from any source I have found. Are we sure it isn't just a scrambler or tone fuction being marketed as "ecryption"? However seeing as they will not ship this model but instead the RT81P to the United States (where encryption of any kind isn't allowed on certain bands) and the RT81P doesn't market said feature, maybe it is legit. Of course, this wouldn't be some AES-256 encryption like we see with P25 radios and if truly DMR encryption is probably some proprietary manufacturer standard instead which is just fine but would be useful to know.
Hi Sir , good to see another video from you. I did a day ride around the Weeley wrabness and Manningtree area today. If I had had a radio and you weren't incrypted I could have picked up your signal in the enemy lands north of the stour estuary..lol have you been planning a long tour??
The RT81 manual shows that Low Tx Power is 1W not 5W by the way (maybe it has changed?). When you have Encryption enabled do you not get interruptions at all from any other radios transmitting on the same frequency, whether analogue or digital? Does anyone know what the 'Colour code' setting is for when programming these?
It doesn't rely on anything like cell networks or towers to function, you can connect directly with the mountain rescue teams or coastguard. Plus I don't mind dropping this in the mud when detecting
Can you make a video how is your settings for encryption on software program. I try today encryption but i don't know what i do wrong on settings and i can't hear anything.i use normal encryption.can i see your settings maybe i find what i do wrong
The encryption is as standard, currently set to 1111 setting for both radios. Sorry I can't help more, I really don't know enough about it to be specific 👍
I'm very lucky to live & work for my farther part-time, most of my gear is given to me so I can spend my money on travel and food when needed. If you was to try and make a living from this full-time, I would suggest selling out to a big brand that pays, that way you have direct funds for the projects you'd like to create. peace
We'll all need them soon.
indeed we will ;)
I actually have one of these for my emergency kit. Quite a nice device.
Encryption is working on DMR or also in analog vhf?

This radio is transmitted in two time slots simultaneously when working in a direct channel, isnt it?

Yes it goes very far with the repeaters. I have a short tour planned out and a longer one for later in year 👍
Does this radio use a Kenwood 2 Pin for the speaker mic?
Great review my brother.

Can we import contacts on RT81 ?
Ok I'm going to ask as no one else has. Why this over a mobile?
