Thank you for giving of your time and energies to expound on Gods amazing grace. Just before listening I was beating myself up for something I felt I should’ve done but failed to do today. Thankful His grace is enough for all my short comings. ❤️
Also, the part where Jesus was in the garden the night the pharisees came with the Roman soldiers in Jerusalem, before that he was praying to God asking him to "take this cup from me, not my will, but your will be done" that tells me that he did have to die for us, because it was God's will, not his. He had to go through with God's plan to save the world. I'm a rather new Christian, but that's what I have been taking from my reading of the word.
It was both...it was God's plan ...Since Jesus was God in the flesh he had to follow his own plan...He is not a man that He would lie. As much as our flesh is enmity with God , Jesus' action reconnected us back to God. The mess in garden separated us from Him but Jeus allows us to go directly to the Father in His name. No priest or other confessor needed!!😊
We're still not perfect, and still sin! Therefore, we are still sinners. We are in Christ, but we are still sinners by nature, and will be until we return home, or Jesus comes back. Whichever happens first.
It is better to be God conscious than sin conscious. The answer, to me, is walking in the Spirit by the renewing of our mind causing us to walk as one in Spirit soul and body. That is where the power comes from- knowing Who we are Christ. He has given us the keys to the Kingdom. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is in us. We are to walk, talk and operate in that power. Not only do we rob Him in tithes and offerings, we rob Him by not operating as we should. The flesh is enmity with God. He knows we are not perfect and never will be in this place. This sinner mind set is not healthy. Yes, recognize the failures, repent and get on with furthering His kingdom. I'm not being arguments, and maybe I am mis- understanding . If looking at it from a Gospel viewpoint to unbelievers who have never heard before, ok. But as a born again beleiver, looking at yourself as sinner constantly is insulting to Jesus and the power of The Cross. Shalom to all and thank you for letting me share my beleifs.
You said Jesus died on the cross when he didn't have to. But when he told the disciples about him having to go to Jerusalem to be beaten and killed, and risen again three days later, it sounds to me like he did have to, not because it was his choice but because it was God that said he had to. At least that's what I get from that section of the gospel.
Once again, thank you all for an awesome 1 hour and 19 minutes. These DEEPENS continue to take me closer to our Lord. Amen. ❤✨✝️✨
Thank you, Pastor Joby for the 50 minute into the DEEPEN encouragement. ❤✨✝️✨

Are you saying, we should continue to refer to ourselves as sinners even after we have surrendered?

We still sin after surrender, I think we just run back to him for grace and forgiveness faster. We don't lie down and commit to our sin anymore.

Don't forget he was also God. So he knew the cost, and that it was the only way. In his humanity, he felt the foreboding of death ahead of him.
