Thank you so much for this. I’m juggling both learning 3D (sculpting, modeling, rigging animation), my day job, and 2D projects, and never would have figured this out otherwise. I hope this becomes part of the official documentation, because this was so helpful! Keep up the awesome work!
I have downloaded a 3D object with animation, but when I open it in Blender, the animation doesn't work. Can you make a video tutorial regarding this problem?😢
I just picked up AutoRig Pro via the free addon blendermarket offer. I wonder if you've ever used it for rigging robots with all separated parts(joints) with bones automatically mapping to the parts without blending?
Could you show how add weapon bone in auto rig pro (for example to the wrist?) and make it detachable to let character throw it or just make this bone indepented from wrist movment but still part of skeleton hierarchy?
I haven't tested it. Sleeves sounds like it would work. But it is meant for skirts so what I show in the video is the one thing I can sort of guarantee it does.
Any idea how the mechanism behind the faked collision works? I've tried several options for rigging an ankle-length robe and have since settled to just make it easier to manually animate.
Is there a rigify option? Ive tried parentig a dress to my rig w autoweights but the skirt crosses through the opposite leg. also, how do i add wrinkles o realism to my dress? thank you very much!
This is because of the skinning/weighting. Auto-Rig Pro has Skinning options which let you limit the bones and meshes you are skinning. You can learn that from the Auto-Rig Pro videos :) th-cam.com/play/PLdcL5aF8ZcJuHJFQgb4altQWs-RCKA7Bq.html
which are you prepared for using and exporting for game engines like unreal engine for example, as of now I'm still watching your fundamentals of exporting and after watching your videos and seen a lot of updates on the auto-rig addon I'm thinking of buying this. All I wanted was a breeze of workflow between engine and blender or even cascadeur vise-versa. thank you again.
Auto-rig pro has dedicated export features. You should not need my export workflows because ARP already has these best practices built in. I believe the export features work very well but I have to say that I haven't tested them properly yet.
@@CGDive do you have a plan for the future on that matter? I'm stubborn I guess but those fundamentals are still a gem even if I'm going to use the ARP, knowledge from artists and teachers like you is valuable no matter what. thank you.
How to add skirt on an existing ARP rig? If I skin bind by selected the skirt mesh only, it doesn't get skinned and isn't affected by the skirt bones. If I select the body, then the skirt then shift select the rig, then bind (as shown in the video), the exiting skinning of the body breaks. Can you help please? Thx in advance.
Yeah, check the Bind options. There are settings to limit the bind to only the selected verts and bones. :) Watch this segment for more info: th-cam.com/video/nvjq7C9BbAQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi Todor, thanks for all great tutorials! Can you please make some Autorig Pro tutorial on character dealing with object (weapons etc). To show how it is to be done when you need to parent the object say to the palm and switching parented/unparented mode. I suppose it may deal with "Child of" constraint or something of this kind but I wander what is the correct and best way to make things of this kind. And what if one needs to attach the object with its own armature (say, some complex weapon with its internal animations), that's how to attach some additional rig to the character's rig. Some external ready rig or maybe some ARP rig which could be in parented/unparented state. And another thing please explain the workings of "lips_roll_top_ref.x" and "lips_roll_bot_ref.x" bones and controls for facial rig cause seems you didn't include these things into your ARP youtube course so far. And I couldn't find the lips roll info on ARP documentation.Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestions. I am talking notes. An update to the ARP course should come out later this year and it should include a special chapter about the face. Regarding props see this video th-cam.com/video/zjfQ7My3KVI/w-d-xo.html It should work with ARP. ARP probably has dedicated tools about that but it's not something I can tell off the top of my head.
@@CGDive Thanks, that's so cool! I'll check the Dynamic Parent, suppose it works same in ARP although the tutorial seems using Rigify. Good luck with new great tutors!
@@CGDive Now I had a short conversation with author of ARP and he helped me with trying to make the jaw of a character move in Y axis (forward/backward), cause in default rig it only opens and closes the mouth with some rotation around Y axis (not moving back and frontwise). And it was a bit stunning after Rigify which has this option by default. The method is most simple so you probably could place this info in your pending face tutorial. Here's his advice: "There is unfortunately no default setting to move the jaw along the Y axis (forward/backward). However it can easily be achieved with a few steps: - Select the c_jawbone.x - Unlock its Y location axis - Right click the value > Copy as New Driver - Show the deforming bones collection ("Deform") - Now just paste the driver on "jawbone.x", Y location". So one just has to select jaw controller in pose mode, then go to "Item" (Blender's right side window panel), unlock Y over there, right click and "Copy as New Driver" from context menu. Then just show Deform bones layer, select the deform jaw bone, then go to Item panel again and paste the driver. That's all :)

Every one of your tutorials is a truly valuable resource. Thank you for this video too!
That means a lot coming from you! :) Thanks and always looking forward to your next short!
if you add more bone it will decrease stretching(mesh)
bcz bone collision will adjust stretching more equally
This s absolute Genius and Helpful, Kudos to the Developer, and thank you for sharing
Oh gosh I hate rigging so much. always thankful when receiving rigged models which can be used upfront
Itd be great to see your work flow on ARP to game engine, thanks!
If in Unity, you would rig it about the same at 4:01 and use a add-on like dynamic bone or magica cloth.
Thank you ,you are the best for rigging toturial
I have been waiting for these tuts.

If only this could be added to Rigify...

could you use that for cloaks too?
