She really takes the Bear dance seriously. She really captures some of the subtleties of Bear movement so that she looks like a Bear really dancing. And the fur falls like a jingle dress. Wow.
The male dancer look more of a horse dancer than a wolf since, he have the tail of a horse (made of real horse hair) and the mask what he's wearing is for war horses to protect their faces and heads from injury.
Hmm the bear and the wolf sounds familiar... THUNDERHEART AND FAOLAN (if you did not read the wolves of the beyond book series then you don't know what I'm talking about)
Yuphíyakel wačhí 👍🏽 I have a question I would like to respectfully ask as I am genuinely curious. I'm sure there must be an interesting reason and/or story behind it. Why is this video titled: "The Bear and the Wolf"?
I hope you will please forgive my ignorance, but I've never seen anything like this before tonight and I can't help laughing. I kinda fell into a rabbit hole of watching powwow dancing and this popped up and it was just so unexpected. Is this meant to be comedic? I hope so, because if its not, then I am sincerely sorry and mean no disrespect. Its so hard not to giggle at a bear getting down to some drums. Thank you for sharing this. ♥ Edit: After doing a bit of research, I discovered the interview & explanation you gave to the New York Times about the Bear Dance tradition. I considered deleting this comment, but I figured it'd be better to link that video for others who are like me that may be ignorant too. *Dance in British Columbia: Evoking the Wild Grizzly Bear's Spirit* th-cam.com/video/AhF9U0PqE0U/w-d-xo.html
