When I was in kindi in the early 90s, they would take us to the auditorium to watch his concert on vhs. He’s so perfect for children this age - and still performing last I heard
I really love this fun song from my all time number one favorite childhood singer that is Raffi and I really am very lucky that I grew up with Raffi and this song brings back my special memories of my childhood . Raffi is the best singer with his great sense of humor and wonderful songs like one light one sun and riding in a airplane and many others .

My first concert. Saw him at the Children’s Museum in indianapolis, must’ve been 1986 or 87. Second concert wasn’t till like 1994 though - REM, with Radiohead opening for them at Deer Creek. Those were the days.
Why are kids so excited? Because they didn't have iPhones but they did have Raffi's cassettes and records to entertain them and here he was before them: the source of all their joy.

Nice. This was my jam as a five year old in the 80s
This was my jam at 8 in the late 80's!
The amount of nostalgia I get from this is insane.
I remember Raffi. I had one of his concerts on video.
Who else grew up with Raffi?
Meeeeeeeeeeeee
I grew up with raffi , and I still love raffi and his music 🎶
I used to listen to this everyday when I was like 5
Still my daily routine
I used to play this at bar time to encourage all the drunks to leave the bar.

Very clever :)
This was my jam as a 21 year old in 1932. Brings back memories.
I grew up loving this song! And now my son loves it too. Music definitely isn't what it used to be.
I was singing this tonight and the kids knew what I meant, husband did not so I had to look it up to show him how deprived his childhood was lol
This has brought back my childhood so hard
He was the #1 requested singer of my Pre-k children for 30 years . Love the memories!
Re-listening to these songs from my childhood is about the only good thing about 2020 so far.
Raffi has that psycho-eye gleam to him.
It’s magical seeing him play and sing, while giving the thousand-mile stare.

If I ever choose to bring children into this doomed world.... they will listen to this man.
lmfao same.
I would give anything for life to have stayed this way for the rest of time. Kids today are so cheated and missing out.
Kids doing tik tok dances and whatnot nowadays. It was a simpler time back then no doubt.
Yeah yeah yeah every generation believes their generation is better than the next. 🥱

And here I thought the wiggles came up with this.
This is actually a traditional song of unknown origin, although Barney also did it before the Wiggles

Where was this man during my childhood?
You must not be in your 30’s
Didn't he have a kid's show at one point? I swear I remember watching it. He had a bird friend.
I wonder if you're thinking of the Fred Penner show and the Word Bird maybe?
