  • In previous videos we've taken apart a Reciprocating Saw, a Circular Saw, and a Cordless Drill, but today we're going to be taking a look at the disassembly process of an Orbital Sander. Most Orbital Sanders are fairly similar in the way they are constructed, so although this video won't necessarily be the exact process for taking apart YOUR Orbital Sander, it should act as a pretty good guide.

I'll tell you this - all those hand Rotary tools are crap! Only strong enough to do your toe nails and dog nails. I am so fed up with Dremel brand. Pricey as hell then they quit on you! Carbon brush replacements are all misfits on Amazon, you have to buy genuine Dremel brushes at a high cost. Its such a rip off!
I am switching to Foredom at $300. Everyone says the motor is far stronger and runs 10 - 25 yrs. This is cheaper in the long run than a $140 Dremel that quits in 1 yr or less.
In your case, check the carbon brushes and replace them. It is easy to take apart.
