Oh how WONDERFUL TO HEAR THESE MEN SING!!! Have heard them sing many times as older men, this is delightful to hear them when younger. They sang in our Southland Christian Church in Lexington, KY to honor a quartet singer in the church. Their music and words of praise was wonderful! Truly beautiful voices praising THE LORD. THANKS for sharing their beautiful praises who honor the LORD and gift people! Marilyn Cook
I grew up listening to the Gospel Singing Jubilee on Sunday mornings while getting ready to leave for Sunday School. I feel that I grew up at the golden time for Southern Gospel music. I truly love "True Southern Gospel Music". There have been many changes to Gospel Music but as for me give me the Cathedrals and those like them I grew up with. I am so glad some groups are carrying on the tradition of Southern Gospel Music. Thank you Glenn and George and all the Catherdral's over the years for great music.
I to grow up with old Southern gospels and how I miss them. I miss my aunt Grace who got me hooked on this kind of music. Thank God that I had her in my life.
Seen the Cathedrals at the National Cortet in Louisvlle Kentucky and got Geoge Younce and many other singers autographs. That was a very much of a blessing. Great music for people who need to hear the gospel message in song.👍🙏
And would you believe they still minister even though they have been gone for 22 yrs now?! I just learned about them in January 2022 when I was going through a hard time coping with the loss of my mom. God used them to get me out of deep sadness. God is so good!
In 2010 Talley was diagnosed with abductor spasmodic dysphonia, a vocal disorder that was affecting his ability to sing, by December 2012 it became so severe after a series of Botox shots that were supposed to give strength back to his voice which wound up making his voice worse, he left the road from singing. Talley issued this to the public toward the end of 2013 in a Facebook post which he said "ok i know i haven't posted much on here lately....but as you know I am no longer traveling or singing. I work full time for Belk, at Westtown Mall in Knoxville. I am a Ralph Lauren Polo specialist there and enjoy that. Vocally I am having trouble. I was diagnosed with Abductor Spasmodic Dysphonia and that has caused it to be very difficult to sing, and some days, even talk. Thanks for your prayers concerning that..." Talley undergoes regular treatment for his vocal problems in the hopes that he may be able to sing again.
I've actually seen the Cathedrals with Kirk Talley before. They were undeniably the best gospel group EVER! I loved those guys so much and truly appreciated their incredible talent to harmonize. I cannot wait to get to heaven and hear Glen Payne sing "We Shall See Jesus" again.....
Anytime I listened to them sing I forget about all my troubles and worries and just think of the victories the Lord has won for me God bless their gentle souls.
@@thecathedralquartetfans3795 I loved Glen and George, I have listened to them for 53 yrs. You know their having the time of their lives right now , and still singing here for others to bring them to the Lord !
I feel like i"ve found Gold. I went with my mom, aunt and a friend as many chances we had to see them in person. I still think Kirk has the most beautiful voice and Mark went on to form his own group and is a great success. I can listen to them for hours.
Where is "He Touched Me" -- sung by Danny Funderbrook? It's a favorite of ours and I want a friend to hear it. Danny uses his voice so well. We heard it on your site last week; please put it back! God bless you all this Christmas season as we once again celebrate the birth of our Wonderful Saviour! -- Laura. (Oakton, VA)

I think that's because most of their "greatest hits" were recorded after that. Step into the Water, Wedding Music, most of them were recorded after 1982.
@@richardcline1337 Possible, but quite difficult in all honesty. I would keep a check on eBay from time to time! They do pop up there occasionally. What I have posted here is the full contents of the tape from start to finish. But from a collector's standpoint, I understand wanting the tape!
@@thecathedralquartetfans3795, there will never be another group like the Cathedrals. Their sound was totally unique to them. Some of the best ever and, like the Statesmen before them, can never be fully duplicated.
I don't think there's a song The Cathedrals sing that I don't like! Some get my attention more than others, but, when one comes on that isn't on my lists of best songs, I just listen closely to the words and get the "feel" for it, then, generally, it becomes one of my favorites! I do love listening to them!
I keep a Cathedral Quartet cassette in my van, plus, a mixture of different Southern Gospel Singers. Some times when I'm going somewhere, I turn it up good and loud! I figure, if I have to listen to that disgusting racket that comes out of some of those young folks cars, they can listen to my music just as loud! Best part is, their car sounds like busted speakers, when mine sounds like Heavens Jubilee!!
Kirk Talley is one of my favorites
They are all great in my book, and God bless everyone and their families !!!!❤

Who knew The Cathedrals could even sing for 50 minutes with OUT doing a "greatest" hit?
I think that's because most of their "greatest hits" were recorded after that. Step into the Water, Wedding Music, most of them were recorded after 1982.
"Vintage Cathedrals" is virtually non-existent now. Sad, as there is some of the Cathedrals best music on it. I'd love to have this in my collection.
The tape of this show is quite rare, so I hope posting it here will allow it to get to a much larger audience!
