Hello, I have a question. There's a male friend of mine who is my not boyfriend, he asked me to call him Koko and he calls me Nyi. He said that it means older brother and younger brother. Is it correct or is there any other hidden meaning? I'm just curious 😅

We sometimes call Ko Ko to our biological brother or cousin but we (Male) call Nyi (Nyi Lay) to our younger brother, cousin and the people who are younger than us. We don't normally call Ko Ko to strangers unless they are our partner (boyfriend/Husband).

Can I still call my boyfriend အချစ်? You mentioned you use it for the girlfriend 😅 will it be weird if I call him that?
Yes, you can. အချစ် can be used both girlfriend and boyfriend and it is not weird at all. Let us know if you have any other questions.
