Novice fly tyer here and learning a lot from your videos thanks a bunch for all the time and effort you put into your videos. I’ve been getting by with just using sally hansen hard as nails and haven’t yet invested in any UV resins. Is there a particular brand you would recommend? And is there a type of UV torch you’d recommend? I’ve noticed some are like a flashlight style and others more like a laser pointer? Thanks again Mak you truly are an artist.

You tye a lovely buzzer Mak , is it a clear resin you use ? As ive found out with certain resins the fly goes all white after you cure it under a ultraviolet light ...

Thank you Billy, yes it is Clear Resin, you need 405nm 1mw UV light,make sure that your batteries are charged fully :))

@@Makflies its a good torch i have its a solarez pro torch it cures the resin in seconds !! Thanks for the reply I'll look around for the clear resin 👍

If you are getting tackiness, try a different light or switch resins. There's no need to deal with tack when there are so many light and resins options out there. I've had very good luck with Solarez and a powerful, but cheap, light off of Amazon. Prior to getting my current light, I had tackiness to but the right light seems to help tremendously.

Nah you can’t beat bone dry shits all over varnish, it’s tack free and super thin and never yellows.
