This is so brilliant. Eco cities, more and more electric cars each day... Im not as worried about global warming now :D. A few more trees can suck up all the excess carbon and boom, its like the pollution never even happened :)
I want to know what other cities are setup to be ecological and why the pessimism? If there is such a city I doubt it is of the same scale as Masdar. With the financial resources of the UAE and technological know how of the great minds involved in this project they should be able to pull it off. Construction has been slow, but delays are anticipated for a project of this scale that hasn't been done before.
however, this can be seen as a sustainable method and such positive effects are probably more evident in the long run, although maybe not in the short run. but would you rather continue producing carbon right now than actually doing something right now to reduce the emission? just a thought.
+125sonicboom if only it was that easy.. even if we shut the world down and stopped all carbon emissions today the amount of irreversible damage done would still have huge prevailing effects.. while me must not lose hope we also must not lose touch of reality
the entire world shall be the next project!!!
It just seems to awesome and exciting XD
I hope the rest of the world becomes like this!

The future of the humanity will be in our hands or in the hads of the ignorance
Do you know how much energy it takes to produce such a huge solar field?
