The fourth movie opens up with a montage of Shrek and Fiona’s kids so you won’t have missed that part for instance, moreover the characters never even acknowledge a single event from the prior movie in Shrek Forever After, once again reinforcing the notion that it doesn’t matter to the plot. @@Nicamon Character design changes are not plotholes, they're visual changes. A character getting an overhaul for their visual design are neither plotholes nor a negative. They're a positive change. They could have stuck to the same design he had in Shrek 3, and done everything else the same about his character, but that wouldn't look right. They changed him accordingly to look like a Villain, and that they did. People disappearing completely or changing their professions in that alternate timeline where shrek doesnt exist, are not plotholes. Heard of the butterfly effect? Change one tiny thing in the past, and the entire future will change. This wasnt a tiny thing, the entire existence of Shrek, objectively the most influential person in the Shrek-verse. His entire existence being removed was bound to do serious changes. Obviously you think that Shrek being gone, means Prince charming would not be arriving late for Fiona, which is plausible, but that does not exclude the series of events that caused Donkey to never meet the Dragon, so the Dragon is still guarding the tower, and as Shrek 3 accurately told us, Prince Charming is incompetent, and would have failed to save her as long as the Dragon was there. Fiona saving herself makes sense according to her character. She is the type of woman to just get too bored of waiting to the point of doing the job herself. You are right about this being an Objective matter, and as it is, Shrek 4 is Objectively better than Shrek 3, and narratively better than Shrek 1. I'll repeat it again. @@Nicamon No, visual changes are not plotholes, and thats literally final. They're called design changes for a reason. Indeed Shrek became the most influential person thanks to Farquaad. Does that remove the fact that Shrek still is the most influential? No, so that was pointless information. The butterfly effect isnt a means to justify those things happening, it *Is* the reason those things happened. A movie never has to say that those happened because of the Butterfly effect, everyone knows what it is. They dont account for stupid people that literally doesnt understand how the Butterfly effect works when they do it. You're starting to make a rather fine example of the type of people they *Dont* write the story for. People that needs every piece of information on a Teaspoon. Now tell me, how would Farquaad sending someone else to resque Fiona, 100% in your mind result in her being rescued? Are you neatly forgetting without the events of Shrek and Donkey arriving there, and without Donkeys seduction skills, the Dragon is still there? Safe conclusion, he did send more people to save her, and they all failed because of the Dragon. Putting the pieces together without teaspoon infodump is a part of Watching movies and series. You also forget it wasnt *just* Shrek doesnt exist anymore from that point on, the Day Shrek was born was removed. So every single year of his life Up until that day, every single event that he had some influence on in indirect ways from his swamp or early child life, never happened. Shrek scaring a random pedestrian is what can have set the chain of events in motion that caused Farquaad to end up in his position of royalty, but thanks to Shrek never being born to begin with, that event never happened. You have concluded that without the teaspoons, they're just plotholes. Fiona was never traumatized by her curse, she was ashamed of it, and with Shrek, *quickly* learned to accept it. Did Fiona *Want* to be saved by Shrek? Yes, she did. Now that the Only person that was able to free her was never born in this timeline to begin with, a competent Knight never came, and she ended up being in that tower for *Far* longer than she was in the first movie. Your inability to conclude a few things yourself when watching a movie shocks me a bit. How can you possibly enjoy movies at all, with that kind of attitude towards anything that isnt flat out said? But as I can tell, any teaspoon information I left out here, will be your next victim of being called a Plot Hole, so you're free to respond to me again, but *this is my last reply to you period.* "Never argue with an idiot. Why is no mask’s weird just a question from Alberta Kinuso and we were happy to get a little bit of freedom back with no masking but of course it’s a supposed to free country so people can still wear a mask if they want.
It's weird because we've had to wear them for so long. I'm happy we can finally take them off 👍🏾

SPOILER
Apart from the fact that 4th movie Rumple is not the same Rumple we had in the 2nd and the 3rd movie, the premise of the movie *should* be:"What would have happened in the 1st movie if Shrek didn't exist?"and that's *NOT AT ALL* what we see in the 4th movie!!Farquaad has disappeared without a reason!Charming has disappeared without a reason!Puss is not a bounty hunter for no reason,Fiona has"saved herself"instead of being rescued by Charming, the ogres somehow never find out she's half human...WHAT IN THE HECK does make that sequence of plot holes better than *ANY* other"Shrek"movie *_OBJECTIVELY?!?!?_* X-(((
@@Nicamon Character design changes are not plotholes, they're visual changes.
Watch Schaffrillas Productions Video on Shrek 4, then come back here.
@@kamixakadio2441 "Character design changes are not plotholes, they're visual changes."No,they're plot holes unless the characters had a plastic surgery or are under a spell!X-P
"People disappearing completely or changing their professions in that alternate timeline where Shrek doesn't exist are not plotholes. Heard of the butterfly effect? Change one tiny thing in the past and the entire future will change."Except you have to explain me how and why. You can't simply make characters disappear without an explanation and saying"it's the butterfly effect"(a thing that the movie _doesn't even say!_ YOU are saying it trying to justify these plot holes)!
"the most influential person in the Shrek-verse."Uhm...until Farquaad bothered Shrek by sending all the fairytale characters in his swamp *nobody* was influenced by Shrek except for the people who willingly went in his territory to bother him!🤨The whole reason Shrek _became_ an influential person *was Farquaad himself!* Without Shrek the swamp would have been simply occupied by the fairy-tale creatures,Farquaad would have send someone else to rescue Fiona,in the meantime Charming would have arrived and we should have seen either him defeating the Dragon and rescuing Fiona or we should have seen him dying and *then* it could make sense for Fiona's parents to go to Rumple for help. But NO!The movie simply chose to *erase both Farquaad and Charming from fucking exsistence* despite it should have been ONLY SHREK the one who disappeared!X-P
"Fiona saving herself makes sense according to her character. She is the type of woman to just get too bored of waiting to the point of doing the job herself."Not during the 1st movie. She literally wanted Shrek to *take her back* to"save her properly"!X-P Not to mentioned she was literally *traumatized* by her curse. It's _her meeting Shrek_ that made her accept her ogre side.Without him,she would STILL want to be rescued by a human in order to break the curse and become beautiful and happy forever!
But as I can tell, any teaspoon information I left out here, will be your next victim of being called a Plot Hole, so you're free to respond to me again, but *this is my last reply to you period.*
"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

I was 12 when I saw it in the theatre and was surprised at how few times I or the audience got any laughs. I can recall maybe at most 3?!
-The scene when Donkey says “get a pair of jammies”
- The body swap scene and the “exposed” comment
- A few laughs during the fight scenes
I also never liked the King’s death. It’s like the writers couldn’t decide whether to make it sad or darkly humorous. And the song choice of “Live And Let Die” was wholly inappropriate
