    Okay...I know they're out there.
    Let me hear your most stupid/nonsensical/cringe
    answers to interview questions...or the best
    question you have been asked during
    an interview.
    I always asked "How many times were you caught
    stealing at your former place of employment?"
    Because when they say "Zero." or "Never." it
    leaves so much room for fun follow up questions
    just to f*ck with them.
    10k getting closer everyday.

      I once was in like a layered interview with Yahoo and made it to my third interview, and the interviewer told me that she wanted the interview to just feel like a conversation, and I had recently moved back to the US from Japan so I just started casually blabbing on about Eastern vs. Western culture and individualism vs. collectivism, for apparently no reason, just to be faithful to the conversational idea. She walked out of the room disgusted. I did not get the job. 😂 -INFP

      I at one point was applying to a place where as part of the interview they took us through this whole mess of training and information about what we were doing (it was like an evaluative test of mathematics skills/knowledge and teaching experience, that sort of thing; this was for a tutoring job). I proceeded to then be asked my opinion of the process, and to be as honest as possible (note: this was before I got a little better at pretending to not think everyone was stupid).
      I proceeded to explain that everything on the evaluation was so far below my knowledge level as to be borderline insulting, that frankly the majority of this interview process seemed more designed to weed out creative thinkers and people who didn't want to do things exactly their way, and that not only did the teaching techniques they were using seem drastically flawed at the slightest glance, but in fact much of that seemed to be because they were designed by people who weren't actually qualified to study this stuff, let alone tutor it.
      And I proceeded to analyze the reasons why I thought this, and all of the evidence and the ways in which I personally would improve on this issue, most extensively, while the interviewer (to their credit) patiently let me go through the whole rant.
      I did not get the job.

      I was told I bombed an interview. It is even worse that I don't know what I did wrong. Luckily it was a day of interviews with many people and that was the only one I bombed. The guy who told me this is now my colleague and friend. I don't remember insulting him. He can not remember what specifically it was, but has no problem describing it as abysmal. I don't think he is kidding.

      back when i was younger i applied for a training job as a programmer... when they asked, what my favourite class in school was(it's a dual system, you have relevant topics in school, alternating with practical training at work) i truthfully answered "politics and social studies, because if you are able to make sense in your arguments, there are no wrong answers" they might have expected something like "java" or technical english for an answer.. i never heard of them again and have not finished that programming training :D

      I have been an INTP boss for a good number of years. A few observations. It forces me to live in Fe, which is great for stretching me, but also quite taxing. It also allows me to be often in Ne, which is so rewarding, and nourishing for my Ti. There are, though, days I just need to completely rest in Ti behind closed doors.
      The people who work with me are often aggravated by the amount of time it takes me to make decisions. In time, they've come to accept it, though. Now, they can even see that the extra time means less changes of course, and better overall discernment. It is hard to be an INTP boss, but I agree that more would be good - both for the world, and for INTP's.

      That's the point. To authentically see how the interviewe handles random stress points. If a candidate makes it to the point of an interview, you can make a calculated guess that they can handle the job function........what the interview NEEDS to find out is:
      Does the interviewe personalty match my goals for the team
      Can they handles unforseen fires that always come up
      Can they get back on track when things don't go well

    Little advise for my fellow intj's :
    I am such a good actor that i have 100% interview success rate by not showing my intj-ness, and I consciously avoid the death stare or looking smug as much as possible, after I get the job however I can finally be me and usually people appreciate my honesty and the fact that I always improve the process after one or two months, the only situations people get pissed at me at work is when I tell them I'm applying to a different one.

    • @athens31415
      @athens31415 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it's low! INTP would make really chill and unbiased managers. I suspect that's why everyone hates managers these days (because most managers are anything but chill, unbiased, and logical)

    • @shyviolets
      @shyviolets 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I managed a team of roughly 20 people for about 5 years... I'm not planning to ever do it again lol
      Chill and unbiased isn't the best management style for everyone. It's an easy one for people to take advantage of. Trust me, just because you're in charge doesn't mean people will listen 🥴
      (There's so many intricacies that come with running a team that I had to learn the hard way. The place was very toxic when I started and I had to put in a lot of work to correct the environment and what it did to me. By the end of it all I had met some good people and I'm happy to leave them working in a place that was better off because of me)

    • @huntedsnark7507
      @huntedsnark7507 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's not that low if you do the INTP trick of accidentally becoming an expert in something a bit obscure. I accidentally became an expert, then then accidentally became a boss because I accidentally got promoted. Oops.
      My staff like working for me, because -- yep -- I'm chill. I'm honest with them, never play politics, always approve their days off, am unfazed when the ENTP tells me they play Tetris while on phone hook-ups so they listen better...
      But managing people is definitely not an INTP dream job!
      Specialist/adviser is way better. Aim for that. Not top of the tree, just a high branch. A bit off to the side.

    I'm an INTJ who was hired by an INTP boss. She was very awkward, self-conscious about it, and also weirdly proud of it as well. She didnt like or trust me for a long time. Honestly she only hired me cause I made a good impression on her ISFP boss. Once after I worked there for almost a year she forgot my name. She managed 5 people, including me. Had to ask my ISTJ desk mate what I was called. She relied heavily on her XSTJ employees to sense reality and make decisions for her. She did hire a unreliable ENFP for God only knows what reason. When I tried to get hired there more permanently She gave it to the ENFP who immediate took off for a 2 week vacation lol and barely came in to work after that. The ENFP only worked 60% of the time and 40% didn't show up. She still works there lol. By the time the INTP boss did trust me I already was making plans to bolt. I felt unappreciated. She was really angry I left and wrote me a recommendation letter that was mearly a statement of facts lol. I am now working under an INFJ, who is more emotionally savvy but kinda dumb. Best boss was the ENFJ who respected me and didn't micro manage. I tend to get hired by Ns....Sensors don't what this lol. As an INTJ I always want to improve systems and I feel it upsets the sensors too much lol.

      Wait, so you really take these all MBTI stuff seriously to take decisions? You know these kind of studies are very near to pseudoscience right? I mean, the perfect example is how poorly outlined and described the characterisitcs of the cognitive functions are. I've studied them and the rigidness of it has no basis at all. The most observable thing is when you do specific cognitive studies in persons and some of them show to have "impossible combinations" like Ni Ti Si Fe. It should be impossible as there is no such thing as having three primary cognitive functions as introverted, nor have N and S with the same introversion/extroversion, yet it is something that can happen. A person that after being subjected to a specific cognitive test (which means not only answering questions, but his problem-solving process, which does not only involve theoretical subjects but also social dissonvelment) that ends up with Ni and Si together. That means that all these stuff of cognitive functions needs more work and development. To be exact it must have no exceptions, it must be perfect

    If you mean "meaning" of life with what life "is" (a description) then your answer would be correct. But if you mean "meaning" with "purpose" (a prescription), then what you have just done is to equate a description (socially constructed and valid in the present) with a prescription (which could imply a meta-ethical description about the goodness such as preservation of what it is, being what it is in this case socially constructed) and ... I don't know if I feel comfortable with that

    Also, I'm Venezuelan. Así que cuando de repente te diriges a nosotros a alabar la chicha después de cantar melódicamente, perdona, ¿puede un vídeo ya bueno ser todavía mejor? Realmente, muy fan, me encanta el contenido. ∞/10

    The biggest question I have is in what world will an INTP wan to be an interviewer? 🤔 The interaction with others especially stranger is hard.
    Well, I kind of know the answer. Short answer will be INTP don't wan to. Long answer will be that they so in the right place and time that the boss or manager ask INTP to interview someone. And after 1 interview section later, it somehow become they job position. 😅
    Again. Amazing video! It is very funny.

    • @Bob39791
      @Bob39791 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, as an INTP who has conducted quite a few interviews, I can say a word or two. It is true that I frequently go "off script" with questions. They even seem out of left field... but there is always a purpose, and the others in the interview always comment - things like "How did you know to ask that? Their response revealed exactly what I was wondering about them."

    • @manuel6183
      @manuel6183 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like this kind of interaction. I have my test subject sitting right in front of me and have "full control" of the situation.
      Basically I test my thesis of the person that I have imagined in my head and if this real person fits it out not.
      Btw. you guys having scripts? I just ask what I need to know.
      Maybe my style of interviewing is actually kind of similar to this scene, maybe I should think this through again 🤔

    It's true that I reallly hate job interviews. (I don't know if I'm on board with the whole MBTI thing. There are definitely disadvantages to it. People take it too far. They try to fit in to the type for one, and they also think they will never change or can't. Is it fact or fiction? But I still like your skits. And maybe I'm wrong. In the past, I dismissed it. How is it valuable to me? It reminds me of that movie Divergent maybe too much.)

    I've only had 1 job interview to work with very young children (like 2-6 years old). The other people that came before me were all stressed and serious, i won't say i was relaxed, but i was more cool headed. I got in and started the interview, it was great, i know how to put everyone at ease and make people laugh (or maybe it was because the people that interviewed me were extraverrted and allowed me to get out of my shell for a few minutes). Then they asked me the final question: What do you want most in life? The children were screaming in the other rooms and the school was very loud. I answered: Calm and peace... :D So yeah, that's all I had to say :)

Also, my mom is an ENFJ and I'm an INFP, so I'm the only extroverted thinker in our family and I ask them so many questions about stuff they consider as obvious, so that they tell me to start thinking myself. Well. They. Don't. Get. Me. I feel like this miserable INTJ among them!
