@ 3:51 - This first engagement of Crystalline blew my socks off. I've been sleeping on Crystalline ever since its introduction, thinking I already had things covered in the reverb department. Crystalline is more than a simple reverb - it's an awesomizer for any sound... when configured musically thoughtfully.
When firing up the Google jets for hardware reverb options and seeing the prices, this is a steal at $30. Remember, Apple is getting their bite too! So the devs aren’t getting all the fruit. Great job at explaining!
Okay i dared to take a look at your video.... you SOLD met at 1:13. I have no budget really for this reverb and tried to avoid your demo video to not convince myself that i need to add another reverb to my big collection of reverbs... but damn I MUST buy this one soon lol. I love the lush sound of this one. Mindblowing quality. And i also love that there is a dark mode because i really can’t stand UIs thst scorch my retinas 😎👍
Absolutely beautiful app and a milestone for iOS music production having a big name like baby audio porting such a pro app to mobile. This alongside Scaller 2 are gamechangers
So glad Crystalline doesn't do the typical shimmer thing. I don't usually care for it on keys. This vst sounds incredible! Will def buy soon in my new setup I'm building.
Wow - super cool verb, excellent explanation, killer tracks - I had to replay it and turn it up. Your content is amazing - thank you for teaching me so much!!
TC Electronic Flashback delay pedal has the crystal effect which sounds like a shimmer but isn't. I was trying to see if other devices could do this effect. I wonder if it's a simliar thing.
Supercool, Jakob! Great quickstart/quikdive into the menu points. I bought it for Mac and iOS immediately and have been fooling with it a little but your twenty-minutes definitely saved me hours and hours, thanks again. By the way, as a US-native and 2nd language French speaker , I have been pronouncing it ChrystalEEn because of the final E. Makes more sense to me that way because it is more of a feminine adjective and not so much a proper noun. Whatever... Carry on, Jakob - good man!
@@rguiliano If you think of it as an iOS app, it is a bit on the expensive side, but if you think of it as more high end "desktop grade" software that normally costs $100... 30 kinda seems like a good deal.
Excellent explanation loved the presentation. Bought this, how would you compare Eos to it in terms of best uses cases. Second since Shimmer isn’t really the Eno/Lanois sound we expect what would be a good word to describe what it truly does in Crystalline? TY
The recent time crystal discovery and the amplituhedron suggests that the universe may not actually die a heat death, as it shows that any projection from a steady state entropic system will appear to have increasing entropy. We are not in Toto anymore, Kansas.
Apple should localize prices, 30usd is a bunch of money on a lot of countries, mine sadly included :( I’ll try saving enough to afford it on a near future hopefully, it’s exactly what I was looking for. Really appreciate your help Jakob, thanks!
I don’t play guitar myself, but I’ve collected a lot of guitar loops over the years and I tried running some through it earlier today. Sounds really good.
I just bought Spark Verb by UVI for $30 mostly because I love Beathawk so much. It's great sound wise but the UI is boring. It's really good for trying to simulate an environment. This app however seems like it will be more fun for exploring and inspiring ideas! I'll probably buy this app specifically because of this review 👏👏👏
Bro the UI pains me so much. And the fact that the best feature “exploring the 2D space”, so to speak, does not interpolate smoothly and cannot be used for live play (it has hiccups) really bothers me. I thought it would be like an Eventide “ribbon band” but in 2D but nah… Unless they’ve addressed this??? Idk… for me it was a bit of a deal-killer. It is definitely a good sounding reverb tho, but the issues I mentioned I did not expect out of such an expensive reverb.
@@EnriquePage91 yea, I agree. I'll still use it for making samples but it uses too much DSP and is too clunky for live use. It is really good at simulating a large room though with adjustable parameters. Which is specifically good for making live sounding drum samples....but that and Foley sounds for videos is about all it's good for to me.
You know, I went to hit the thumbs down button like you said but I wasn’t sure if it actually registered so I hit it again and it went black. So I tapped it again and it lit up but I wasn’t quite sure it had registered my opinion so I tapped it again and it went black again. I did this about, I dunno, 30 times maybe. So I decided if this one won’t take my vote then maybe the thumbs up will. And sure enough I got happy confetti when I tapped it. It worked! As far as the reverb goes, I’m probably going to buy it for my MacBook Pro. I wonder if there’s a discount on the iOS version if you buy it for a MacBook Pro. Hmm.
Hmmmm, looking great but is sounding quite artificial here through focal cms50s. Core sound reminds me of Sony and Yamaha 90s rack units, minus the noise.

And there’s me thinking I don’t need another reverb. When funds allow, I’ll be getting this. Thanks as ever Jakob ❤️
My pleasure! 💛
Great video Jakob. I’m on an app diet now so this one is going on my wish list 😂
The rant at the end is fucking hilarious. Thanks for all your Micro Freak content as well as this.
Honestly I kinda wanna EAT the interface. It’s like a chocolate bar 😵🥲
Yeah it’s gorgeous!

I was doubtful at first but I bought Crystalline yesterday and I like it a lot.

I wonder if Facebook will ever get a dark mode for iPad … they have it for iPhone. Why not iPad too?
Nice dynamic EQ with FabFilter Pro Q 3 on 4:20
I’ve bought Crystalline and I’m in love with it!
Lol “heat death” if I had known there was physics in this video I would have watched it sooner.
This was the best review or tutorial of this plugin - love it. Thank you!
After getting blackhole i didnt know i need this one too haha. Your video convinced me.

Great review, Jakob!!! I learned a lot about how reverbs work in general. Waiting for a sale now...
My pleasure, thank you so much for watching!

Soon as you synced the tail, I bought the app. Excellent work, this is awesome
Got it based on your recommendation and I'm finding there is a lot to like about this plugin.
So so awesome. This thing is dope dope DOPE!!! Thanks for the video Jakob.

Got it, like it and yes it hurts, thanks for the video that helps me to be sure i have done the right thing. LoL
Its was a very good investment! 👊
What a refreshing video. The product of course, but you did an excellent job of demonstrating. Cheers!
Thank you for watching!
Always learn a ton from these videos Jakob!
Happy to hear that V! 👊☺️
I love that sync vibe.🙏👍😎

Wow, powerful verb for sure
Ahhh another good plugin, I haven’t unpacked Eventide bundle 2 😂 This is interesting. Thanks good review as usual.
You really made some great music for this hideo Jakob 👍🏼
Thank you Peter! I really tried making stuff that would bring out the character of Crystalline. 🥰
Shout out to ROLI and their Seaboard line that inspired the Neumorphism movement in graphic design which this plugin is utilazing :D
Great overview, Jakob 🔥🙏🏻🔥
Thank you! 👊
Really digging the UI, especially with the dark mode engaged. Definitely gonna check this app out, Thanks Jakob😁
The GUI is gorgons. Really like the ”symbols” look.
@@JakobHaq gorgons ?
@@JakobHaq is it really worth $30 dollars (US)?

Great walkthrough Jakob!
Thank you!
Watching Jacob is expensive. I want to purchase this, stat! 😊
Best review ever. Thank you.

I watched it. I got excited. I saw the price. Cool-down period engaged.
Can't blame you, but it just shows how we are spoiled by Auv3 prices in general.
I really liked the song at about the 11 minute mark
Awesome vid as always! It really does sound beautiful doesn't it!!!!
Thank you Jamie!
Does it work on Logic IOS? Thanks, boss!
Always quality content! I love your dislike comments always makes me LOL
Thank you Jade! 💋💛
I was kinda hesitant cause the price but everyone and there momma is using it
hmm... this or the strymon bigsky plugin?

$30 for an iOS reverb is on the pricey side. Does it ever go on sale? It sounds great!
Great video as always. A little pricy but sounds really great. Would love to get ahold of it with my guitar. I will be saving up for this one.
I don’t play guitar myself, but I’ve collected a lot of guitar loops over the years and I tried running some through it earlier today. Sounds really good.
The eno/u2 shimmer is exactly the same as something i did with the Cocteau twins with an AMS reverb and AMS pitch shift delay, just sayin’ 🤓
Never ogilla my friend!
Let’s go!
They fixed the text issue literally 2 hours after the video :-)
