Since you enjoy Geoff's lows, you owe it to yourself to listen to VoicePlay's cover of the HALO theme song. I find their idea interesting; an instrumental piece covered by an acapella group. It is AMAZING!

It's quite an experience isn't it? Their latest is Friends on The Other Side, a Halloween number. It features J,None who left to sing with the navy recently, but had some leave and was able to join them and frankly, no one else could have played his role in that one. Yes Eli used to sing with rock bands when younger. Others have mentioned them doing the HALO theme, and Eli really hits some high notes in that one. With,, if course, Geoff down in the basement, which is his thing, although he has a very wide range, up to five octaves on a good day.
The third voice you hear is their tenor, Eli (pronounced El-ee). He does have a very powerful voice. You're not the first reactor to colorize his tone as very rocker-esque in nature. He definitely does lean that direction with his power and focus. The girl you mentioned was probably Rachel Potter. She was featured with them a few times for their Disney medley covers, but she isn't a permanent part of the group, though she definitely could be. She certainly has the talent.
Not just Rachel Potter though. When they covered You're A Mean One Mister Grinch, they had Adriana Arellano as the guest vocalist. Those are the only two ladies I know of who have guested with them but of course there COULD be more that I don't know about. :)

Eli sounds exactly the way Eli wants to sound. He's got one of the most flexible voices I've ever heard. Watch him during this or Carry on Wayward Son then through the Little Mermaid/Moana Medleys, the Night Before Christmas set, and then Can't Help Falling in Love. You'd swear there's no way it's the same guy, but it is.

Cesar: up left (the one with the scar in his eye), baritone/tenor, he's the newest addition of the group
Jose: centre, he's the guest, he's from the group Rockapella and also has been featured in My Mother Told Me
Eli (pronounced Ellie): up right, tenor, the one with the grit in his voice
Geoff: down right, bass and arranger of this song
Layne: down left, beatboxer, he and Geoff do most of the arrangements for VoicePlay
If you want to see a video where Eli is featured more I recommend Carry On Wayward Son, This is Halloween and My Mother Told Me
Jose did "My Mother Told Me: cover with them. Jose is also in Hamilton production Chicago. #TheatreKidOfACappella. Geoff just release The Monster Mash for Halloween.

This group somehow manages to picture other artists to sing with them who fit perfect. They have had women in the past like Rachel Potter, Ashley Diane, and Adriana Arellano. Great review. Definitely one of my favorite groups. Check out their newest video. One of their members that went into the Navy recently has shore leave and he is the featured artist in it.
I have not seen the one with Ashley Diane. I am looking that up right now, thank you very much for the information. :)

Enjoyed your reaction so much! Voiceplay is down to 4 members, featuring guest artists. They have always been a male quintet, with women featured sometimes. Layne Stein, beatboxer, lower left, Geoff Castallucci, bass, lower right, Cesar de la Rosa, upper left, baritone and newest member, Jose Rosario Jr, upper middle, tenor, has appeared on Broadway and in the Chicago production of Hamilton, Eli Jacobson (pronounced Ell-ee) upper right, tenor, has performed in rock bands. Geoff did the arrangement and video, he and Eli did the lighting. Voiceplay does it all.
For a less theatrical, but amazing piece, react to If I Were A Rich Man'Girl, Carry on Wayward Son, Go the Distance.

They were actually down to three members, then went back up to four.
Most a capella bands are all male. PTX and Voctave the exceptions.

Eli's voice reminded me of the former lead singer of Journey...It has that rock quality that I haven't found in any other acapella singer...This is theatrical and, in my opinion, their best video yet. Thank you for reacting to this. I have "binge watched" every reaction out there for this group. Amazing!!!

I loved Schnells face, the look she did, by the end she looked like a fired up pirate, ready to kick ass.
Her reactions are so good because she emerges into the song, lets them affect her, not emotionless nor for example just smiling during a sad/spooky song.
They've never had an official female member to my knowledge, but they are joined their friend and fellow singer Rachel Potter on occasion(Moana Medley, Little Mermaid Medley, to name a couple).
They have had a couple of ladies on as guest vocalists. Otherwise, officially, VoicePlay is a group of guys.
This song is from the opening scene of the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The top row from left to right is Cesar (new to the group, replacing J.None), Jose Rosario Jr. guest, and Eli (pronounced El-EE). Bottom row is Layne the beatboxer and of course Geoff.
they do a brilliant cover of Tennessee whiskey, well worth a listen and often forgotten
Stunning, even after 67 views/listens! Yes, "Halo" takes it up to even another level. Their "Carry on my Wayward Son," "Warriors," "Bang!" "Unchained Melody," and "It Ain't Me" - all so, so good!

VoicePlay covered four songs from Nightmare Before Christmas, This is Halloween, What's This, Kidnap the Sandy Claws (with guest Rachel Potter), and Oogie Boogie's Song. Other songs covered by VoicePlay you should check out are Sh Boom (a 50s doo wop song), Daddy Sang Bass (a Johnny Cash song), and My Mother Told Me (from Assassin's Creed and season 4 of Vikings). There are many, many, many more but that's the short list.
You should check out Geoff's channel for his solo work. He has covers like Sixteen Tons, Monster Mash, Bare Necessities (from Jungle Book), Headless Horseman, Blackbird, many short stories from Edgar Allen Poe and others, and how to and information videos on how he does what he does. Of course, the answer to that is, he does it beautifully.
The singer top right is Eli Jacobson tenor 1 (pronounced with a short e, like Ed, l, long e, like bee). They've had a couple of girl guests. Rachel Potter, I mentioned on Kidnap the Sandy Claws and she did the Moana Medley and Adriana Arellano, You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch and If I Were a Rich Man/Girl with them. All three of those videos are worth checking out.
If bass is your thing you should listen to Geoff Castellucci solo of “16 tons” it’s fantastic
If you haven't already, I would highly recommend their covers of "This Is Halloween", "Oogie Boogie's Song", and Geoff's cover of "The Headless Horseman".

I think others have already suggested "Halo" Theme and I'll second that. Geoff goes really subharmonic there and Eli (pronounced Ellie), the tenor you liked so much, hits some really high notes. To my knowledge, Voice Play has never had a permanent female member (but that have collaborated with females in the past). Pentatonix has a permanent female member.
Can't help falling in love, go the distance, carry on my wayward son and their newest one is friends on the other side.
Also it's Pentatonix group that has Kirsten with her beautiful voice. This group sometimes features women.
I think you would especially enjoy If I Were a Rich Man/Girl by Voiceplay!
Next one to watch is the Wicked Medley. These guys are just insanely good.

Why do all reaction videos that you have to stop every so often and talk, this is not a way a professional would do it they would listen right through to the end then comment, by stopping every so often spoils it for those who are listening that’s why I gave you the thumbs down, I do it to all those who stop and comment all the way through, it’s time you lot change the way you present your reaction videos, like I say it’s definitely not the way a professional would do it
