Thanks for your coverage of this! Regarding your commentary though, I would have rightly attributed the quote, "Do not send to know for Whom the Bell Tolls, It tolls for Thee", to John Donne from his poem Meditation, as his is the quote and the poem providing the meaning. Ernest Hemingway just borrowed the line as a title for his book, since the copyright had long since expired. Usually when people use this quote, they are thinking of the context of the poem; that each man's death affects every other, and the day will come when it is your turn; whereas, Hemingway is just using it as a title for a book about an American in a foreign war.

At the time, this group had some kind of ritual that they called, "casting out" where they would get together and somehow use their minds to cast the bad spirits out of these people that Chad deemed dark. I don't think Lori's husband (Charles) had any idea he would be killed. Otherwise, he would have told Lori that he had changed his insurance so she wouldn't kill him for the insurance money. The reason he changed his insurance was because he and Lori were going to divorce. Lori did not want to take care of JJ (Their adopted son) anymore. Charles was going to get custody of JJ. Charles was JJs adopted father and his great uncle. Charle's sister, Kay Woodcock, was going to help with JJ. She was also JJ's biological grandmother. So now you see why Charles changed the insurance to Kay, so that she could take care of JJ if anything happened to him. Kay did get the insurance money. Some of it went to Charles brothers, and most went to her. Sadly, her beloved grandson JJ had been killed by that time. (And Tylee) Lori's other daughter was also killed. Lori kept getting Social Security for them. She thought she could convince everyone her children were still alive while she kept collecting Social Security. She didn't realize Kay and Larry (Kay's husband) would hire a detective to look for JJ. She didn't think CPS and the police would come to her house demanding to see her children. She didn't think friends family and neighbors would find it suspicious when she told them the children were in hiding because someone was out to kill them. (Yes, indeed, someone had already killed them......their own mother.)

Whenever there are comments by Lori or Chad about key people involved who are “going or getting dark, “ that means they’re going to be killed soon.
Cold blooded, delusional, selfish, & narcissistic.
It’s so chilling & disturbing. How does a person get to killing their own child/children, w/ no emotion or facial expressions.

    • @loislois3526

I think the light dark was before murders as well, he was using it to get control of people’s perception of others around them to isolate them. He was a cult leader in the making for sure. His whole life he was plain and unaccomplished. After he got popular in the prepper circles, he started those weird beliefs but I think the actual murders only started when Alex killed first. It was fantasy talk for Chad at first

I’m sure the gory details are traumatic enough that the entire trial does not have to be a show. And it should be factual and unemotional for the most part.
