    I am glad you cleared up that misnomer that Watts is apart of L.A and not a city. But that’s the uniqueness of L.A. many people think all those neighborhoods in the Valley are independent cities, like Northridge, Chatsworth, Van Nuys, etc., when in actuality they are subdivided neighborhoods within this city. Personally, I would like to see such unincorporated neighborhoods such as View Park, Windsor Hills and Ladera Hieghts unite and become an incorporated city like West Hollywood did in the 80s. Either that option or become annexed to L.A. It is too populous of an area and too well developed to remain a dependent colony within the County. Plus the area just plain makes L.A look too damn weird on a map!

    Dope information brother. Question why do you love South LA? I’ve Never been.

    • @SouthLARecap
      @SouthLARecap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I appreciate it man. Thanks. South LA definitely has its qualms and far from perfect. Every neighborhood is. But it has so much history, man. There’s been a lot of struggles, but so many more accomplishments that sometimes go unnoticed.
      I just know when I search it on TH-cam, none of this stuff comes up. It’s everything bad. Everything stereotypical. Nothing much about what’s good for the average people living here, you know? So this is my humble attempt just to add something good on the web. And share some really cool facts that can be easily buried under presumptions and biases.
      But again, I really appreciate you watching

      I just read up on this. It looks like Central LA. It’s first shop opened on 135N Western Ave, which is a permanently closed Tom N Toms Coffee.
      Either way, it was a cool start in LA

      @@SouthLARecap I really love what you are doing. There is so much great history that is never mentioned. For example,
      Verbum Dei used to have zydeco festivals that at one time was attended by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. I could also tell you a lot more…

    • @SouthLARecap
      @SouthLARecap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Nope. Both are acceptable depending on which one you grow up. For city documents, it’s legally South LA.
      I just adopted South LA for uniformity, and my perception on history. I’ve got 4 videos on the debate if you’re interested.

      @@SouthLARecap nice..
      I had a quasi argument with a co worker a long time ago about "South Central LA " being an acceptable reference name for the area. He argued against it. He said its just "South LA"
