Anti Vax Mom, of course, that’s not what I mean ( even though that’s still super dangerous without a seatbelt ) what I mean is why did the workers allow them to go on together without any restraints. Their manager obviously wanted to avoid getting sued for any accidents.

They used to run it more aggressively and stopped it upside down for a good few seconds, but it's getting really old now. My favorite ride there used to be the falling star, but they ran that until it broke and literally threw pieces of machine out.
i can kind of see why the motor sounds like it is on its last legs. No joke. XD

I rode this thing back in the day and it was called the "Super Loop". Sometimes the operators would stop at the top and hold you upside down. Great old-school fun ride!

This is a Larson Loop before Larson loops were a thing.
I remember back when I was a kid, The lions club carnival in Denison Texas where I am from had this ride back in the early 80's! They would bring it every year. It was called the SUPER LOOPS back then Me & my brother was SO crazy about this ride & we rode the living daylights out of it! We rode it over & over! The one we had though was strictly yellow. I LOVED the sound of it & STILL do today! I am so glad you found one of these old school rides! I never see these models around anymore. But I DO see the newer models at carnivals in Austin TX where I currently live. They are not caged in like the old school ones! But old school is what I like the best! I hope you find the zipper ride & the Himalaya & the roundup! I would love to see you ride those.Thanks for sharing this!! I have saved this in my thrill ride playlist because this is the one video that makes me look back on my childhood days! Those were the good days back then! I could spend an eternity riding the old super loops.... Now currently called ring of fire!

As a kid, I rode one of these called Super Loops at our local carnival (circa. 1985). This was important for me because it was my first thrilling ride. That first ride erased all of my fear of rides.
I was sitting at the tables next to the ride and watched this video before riding it

The ring of fire is very unimpressive and I used to work for a carnival company and believe me if you ever saw what holds that ride together you wouldn't go anywhere near it.

Working on my video for Wild Waves 2022 Review. It had been 6 years since we had been to the park. Sadly, the ring of fire is gone... The current state of the park was hard to see. Thanks for giving me a good laugh!

I just went today! Tip: don’t chicken out unless you know something might happen to you or the ride, because you won’t regret it. That’s how I forced myself to go on these rides with my cousin, she almost threw up though. 😂 might wanna avoid the Kong though. I went on that one when I was 11, my hair got stuck in the ride, it’s inverted too, meaning instead of being on top of the tracks, you’re dangling bellow them, so when you go threw the loops, instead of being in the loop you’re on top of it. and there are so many sharp turns and corkscrews. I banged up my head, it’s very painful. You probably already know this though XD

TypicalKpopCrackheads no dont avoid Kong. Most likely not many people get that happened to. Thats how youre trusting the ride to keep you safe. Because of statistics. Thats probably happened to very few to none out of the thousands/hundreds of thousands/even millions of people that have ridden it
Avianca2005, ye but if you read other people’s opinion on Kong, they’ll all say the same thing: that their head got banged up or they got a concussion. It’s very common for inverted rides to hurt, it’s not a bad ride and I did enjoy it, but you’ll need a pretty high pain tolerance if you want to enjoy riding it.

I used to operate this ride for about 5 years definitely one of the best rides at this little park

They just tore this thing out not too long ago and completely decommissioned(literally crushed) it. It's neat that you got the chance to ride it while it was around. Louder than shit but it was quite a rush. Half of which being the ride intensity itself but the other half being how rickety its was haha. I grew up going to this park quite a lot so I'll definitely never forget it.

I can see Wild Thing in the background - did you get on it while you were there? How's it holding up after all these years? I know it's just an old loopscrew, but it was my first "adult" coaster back when it was at Rocky Point Park. Still remember when I thought it was huge and terrifying...
WAs just there yesterday. They used to let you do 2 runs every time I went. So many rides were shut down. Line were long and they would only do 1 pass on the wild thing. Still holds up though.

I've ridden one of those old rides before. The best way is with one hand on the ceiling, the other wrapped around the metal bar, and with your eyes closed.

I love this ride
It's an amazing and thrilling ride, that's for sure. But...I use to be scared to go on this ride because at 9, I almost fell out, I slipped through the bars for a few seconds, but what was keeping me from slipping out completely was the cushion thing on my lap and my sister next to me, or else I wouldn't be here today.
I didn't ride it again until I was a teen. It's awesome but because there's no proper strap, you have to literally make sure that you stay in the ride. What happened during my first time of the ride was that I was holding onto the wrong bar and I remember my sister telling me to let go of the bar, I was that terrified.

I have season passes for (here)Wild Waves Theme Park. Love going to the park and riding all the rides, except for the Ring of Fire. I'm not afraid of hights or going upside down, it's for the reason that there are no seatbelts.
