Thank you John!! I just fixed mine following your videos. Had the same issue with the burnt out wires. Brisbane Australia 16th March 2024

My wiring was fine, not melted wires like most others. My motor seems to be the problem, it’s not hard to take the head apart. Torx 15 screws almost everywhere. Really stupid how DsWalt has breathers for the motor which allow grass or weeds to get in, especially when wet. Got the gearbox apart and sent juice to the motor alone and it spins for a second then just stops. I absolutely LOVE DeWalt tools and have many but this thing is junk.

On my model there is a warning sticker on the side in front of the trigger, once you remove the sticker there is the last screw under it.

Oh wow that’s good to know my model didn’t have that sticker!

That last little screw got me.... Not gonna lie... I ran out of curse words before I figured it out. Didnt bother to put it back in either fuck that little guy... True story, I was watching these videos because mine "Broke" and I put it away and sorta forgot about it, so I found it again today and went to work on it, and sure enough the thing worked again... Done this 2x so far.... It will work then quit... So I pulled it apart anyway to see if I had any burnt out wires or loose connections...

I spent the last hour trying to figure out why I couldn’t get it apart. Can’t believe they put a screw behind a sticker

Is it safe to say that the blue wire gives power to the head? For me the trigger clicks and the head clicks back and forth for a second. Is this the same symptom? Or is this for no head spin at all?

@@Jesusjohnnyandsuno took the whole thing apart. Wiring looks great all the way thru, I have a multimeter but not sure what numbers I should be looking for.
I can't get the head completely off to check the motor connection itself as one of the screws broke off. Going to drill it out this afternoon.

@@timvervoort63 I would think use the ohm meter with the sound if you have it and check for continuity the problem is usually at a sodder point! I have had 4 separate breaks fixed all with resoddering! Good luck

Bro. I appreciate your help with the issues with this particular string trimmer but please sir review your videos before you post them if you can . Not to be a bitchy person but your camera wasn't on half the stuff you were trying to show us like your solder welds an also back up maybe an show the whole section of the handle an batter pack end so we can see the wires going into the tube an so forth because as you know your already shaky so with it so Close to the the thing being worked on you loose out on so much it makes it a little frustrating and hard to see fully what your explaining and where this and that goes or comes from an goes to so that we can get a full understanding of the work your showing us to help out everyone with so that we may possibly like you people asking in any real excess finances to be able to possibly repair stuff ourself with the aid of our fellow like people out here just trying to make it an not have have some "EXPERT" paid to do something most of us that are able bodied an half witted can do with a little help or tips from each other. Again thank you for your explanations an what I could gather from the 2 videos combined that really helped me with my issue though it was a bit frustrating having to continually go back an watch them many times due to the angles an non matching moments of conversation of work an images of work not matching up but I got it an justthank you for that an saving me another 159 to 200 bucks for a. New trimmer. So thanks but if your gonna continue to put out help do it your self videos please maybe take a look before you post it an see the angles or if your actually showing the thing your talking about with the camera on it or not.
