That was absolutely brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed this update.
Although London born and bred I would not want to live there again. Mind you I am talking about the 50's and 60's.

Thanks Chris, I'd love to have been able to visit these stations in the mid 50's which is the period I like to model most. London is certainly a vey different place these days.

We lived in West London but my grandparents lived in Norfolk so we used to have a weeks holiday with them once a year and go up by train which was cheap in them days. I think that's where I got my love of that era from apart from living right next to the railway at South Acton. I can even remember catching the steam train with my parents to Great Yarmouth along with Wells-next-to-Sea which will always be my favourite sea side destination. I went there recently and it is now sadly a bookshop.
It then started to get expensive by train and we then had to go there by coach, was never the same. Very happy memories.

This was a very difficult video for me to watch. Although I still have some photos of an even more deserted Paddington which I took during a rail strike several decades ago, all of these stations I used to travel through regularly. Victoria was one I used to commute through daily for many years. Seeing them all with trains running but almost no passengers and knowing how the Government is now forcing train companies - including Southern - to withdraw trains as a long-term consequence, gives me the sad feeling that the hustle and bustle will never return to the extent to which I once knew so well.

Things seem to be pretty much back to normal now, but you make an interesting point about longer term withdrawal of services. I didn't know about that.
